Cute atmosphere, good service and charming waitress. Food was very tasty too! Ideal venue for before show at Sadlers Wells. Will be back again I hope.
Quaint little restaurant but the food was somewhat ordinary. It is close to Sadler's Wells though but we won't be rushing back to this one.
We went on News Year Eve, after visiting Sadlers Wells and were treated to great food, perfectly cooked and the staff were extremely welcoming and give us a wonderful warm party atmosphere rounding off a fun evening. Will definitely go again.
Foie gras was very disappointing, but otherwise food was good and service was excellent. Restaurant has a lovely feel to it and would definitely try it again
It is a restaurant with a nice familiar feel to it. The waitress kindly accommodated my mother when she asked for a different table due to her hearing difficulties. The food was delivered promptly and was tasty. My steak was a perfect medium. Service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. An easy recommendation.
Very sweet staff, good and interesting choice of French orientated food well presented and cooked, nice place with good atmosphere. Slight minus was that quite a few things on the menu were not available - but it was 27th December and a 2 day bank holiday must be a nightmare for restaurants. At least they were open!! Also good vegetarian options.
Poor service. I had finished my starter and had my plate cleared before my husbands starter arrived. His main course arrived with his starter. Inedible fish. Very disappointing.
Could not fault this restaurant. Excellent service, very friendly, delicious food, very reasonable price AND they do wine in carafes. We were going to the theatre and we were able to enjoy our meal and be out in plenty of time. The management of Miz En Bouche is very very good.
Brilliant local restaurant; friendly service and welcoming atmosphere. Food is delicious and excellent value. Set pre-theatre terrific option if you're heading to Sadlers Wells Theatre.
The food was great and reasonably priced. The service and the owners/staff were very friendly and helpful, it was a really nice start to a visit to Sadler's Wells to see Red Shoes. I would recommend this restaurant !
It was really delightful - our first visit but we will certainly be coming again! Great service, lovely ambience, a little gem of a bistro.
Mix en Bouche would have been a great pre theatre restaurant but was hopelessly short staffed, and they were not coping at all well. The food was quite good and the space cosy.
The staff at Miz En Bouche were lovely and very helpful, food was too die for. Couldn't ask for anything more. Will be back next time we're in Islington.
Prompt service and good value. We went for a pre-theatre meal and were pleased we chose this small, friendly bistro. The menu offered a wide enough choice, whilst being small enough to give us confidence that the food was all freshly prepared.
It was very busy the day we went and I'm glad we'd booked a table. The staff coped pretty well with the numbers though and were friendly and helpful. We opted for the fixed price menu which was good value, simple, french food done well. We'd gone for lunch before a matinee performance at Sadlers Wells and were out in plenty of time in spite of every table having been taken. I thought the wines were a bit on the pricy side, but perhaps you can't have everything!
The food was great. Lovely french steak cooked exactly how i wanted it. Staff were friendly and attentive. Perfect for a pre ballet meal at Sadler's Wells
Tucked away beyond most of the other eateries on St John's Road it would be easy to miss this little gem. Our pre- theatre brunch experience here was faultless. Great value for money, simple but well cooked food, delicious cocktails and attentive and friendly service. Don't let the slightly garish lime green awning and decor put you off. I've already recommended it to my mum!
first time eating here...i liked the decor...good menu...extra help with my food allergy was appreciated....busy because it was pre-theatre so not as attentive as it might have been but it didn't bother me...just noting it...fun place and i would return...
Pleasant friendly service, good food and some reasonably priced wine. Did pretty much what it said on the label. Not quite sure why I am not more enthusiastic, maybe because my table was a little cramped but I am sure we could have moved if I had asked.
Great burger(didn't have time for more courses). Nice friendly service. Goo dlocation close to Sadlers Wells A bit cramped and I was next to the draughty door But overall big thumbs up. Would definitely go back
After a previous excellent visit, this time it was quite disappointing. We chose from the Christmas menu. The broccoli soup was ok although not very hot, a theme which carried through to the main which was actually cold and both our meals had to be returned. after several minutes they were back on the table and a bit warmer but not piping hot. Still, we ate it. After this we forsook any dessert and left for the theatre. Will probably go elsewhere next time I'm sorry to say. The staff were friendly though.
Awful. Food very poor, service chaotic - brought other people's food, brought our main courses before started finished, bill wrong three times and food poor
very nice food, great service, pleasant staff - the only problem was that we were sitting in a draft although we had booked at least a week in advance.
We had a great meal & friendly service- quick service too as the meal was pre ballet at Sadlers Wells and good value for money
excellent meal, great value, pleasant environment, friendly efficient staff, WHAT NOT TO LIKE? The whole evening was a great experience, would highly recommend to all - particularly if going to the ballet a one min walk from here but even if not please do go this young friendly team deserve for the restaurant to be a huge success.
Nice vibe, good food, excellent service and good value. Went there before going to theatre and would go back. Would recommend and looking forward to a return trip.
Excellent food and service. The seared halibut was done just right, accompanied by roasted root vegetables, french fries and peas with bacon. The Creme Brulee and the chocolate fondant were perfect. A memorable meal.
This is a great place to eat before going to Sadlers Wells. Nice food, good choice and friendly and efficient service. This is my third visit.
Delightful bistro style venue and affable reception. Unlike the chains around the Angel area the staff here make a point of welcoming you as an individual. Food is very pleasant and this makes for an accomplished pre-theatre meal prior to Saddlers Wells.
Food was excellent and service, although initially a little slow, was then exceptionally efficient. The place itself is quite small but does have a lovely ambience.
This is a great little place- good unpretentious menu, food well prepared with very friendly service. It is small with a lovely atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.
The food was extremely nice and the staff lovely, but we had to wait for our table and the second helping of butter requested never came. The bill was also incorrect initially. The delay in getting to our table almost made us late for our matinee performance at Sadlers Wells.
Tiny restaurant with a terrific atmosphere and unfussy typical French menu. We love it and visit every time we are in London for Sadlers Wells.
Second time here. Packed and waiting staff rushed off their feet. On the whole, food was good apart from my entrecôte being s bit chewy :(
If you're looking for a cosy French bistro with delicious good value home cooked French food then Miz en Bouche is the place for you. Friendly waiters and a good atmosphere. Make sure you reserve if its before the ballet.
This lovely restaurant was a real find! The food was delicious, the staff helpful and fun. Eating in Mis en Bouche was like sitting in an intimate bistro in Paris! Fabulous!
Excellent, friendly French restaurant, small. They make changes for dietary reasons with grace, although it might have caused them to very slightly overcook the fish. Salad with reduced balsamic vinegar was amazing, Service quick and friendly. Perfect place if you are going to Sadlers Wells.
Delicious. Simple menu. Traditional French foods, beautifully excited. Lovely steak tartare. Tasty escargots. Excellent creme brûlée. Friendly and happy staff... highly recommended. Less than 200 yards from Sadler's Wells theatre.
Lovely, friendly cosy restaurant. Food and wine were really very good. The owner very welcoming and helpful. Would definitly recommend it and have every intention of revisiting it. Proximity to sadlers wells makes it even more ideal.
Restaurant is very small and was packed to capacity. Three of us were seated at a very small table with a makeshift chair from garden.
Excellent food and great value. Cheerful friendly service. Good awareness of gluten free with good choice on menu. Set menu excellent value with choice of 3 dishes for each of starter, main and dessert.
Lovely intimate place, close to Sadler's Wells and easy to find. The service was excellent and friendly, the food was good, and so was the coffee. We'll be back.
We were late for many reasons but the staff at Miz En Bouche still welcomed us warmly and we were going to the ballet but they still managed to serve us delicious food, all in good time for the raising of the curtain. Thank you so much. I am booking again for our next visit to Sadler's Wells in December.
Very good food, good quantities, fast service (can occasionally be a bit slow but not this time) and fairly comfortable. Note: some seats don't have backs--if that bothers you ask for a table with proper seats. The set meal is excellent value if you like what us on it.
A really good find, close to Sadler Wells. A cosy welcoming atmosphere. The staff were polite and attentive and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend.
We ate before going to Sadler's Wells and so it was a busy pre-theatre service but excellent and friendly and very good food. We had the set menu which was nicely judged in size and lightness of touch. Highly recommended and very close to Sadler's Wells so very convenient. On the nights of popular performances and at weekends I imagine it would be advisable to book in advance.
Best steak tartare I have eaten in years. The ambience friendly, staff extremely attentive and food just delicious. Pre theatre diner and they made sure that we were out in good time. Would definitely go back.
Food, ambience, service and owner - all great. Have been there before and will go there again. And the bonus is a great meal deal before going to see something at Sadlers Wells.
Nice intimate and relaxed good location for Sadler wells. 2 or3 course prix fixe available anytime good value wines from £16 glad we found this plce
The service was fine but the food was not worth £17.50 for the measly sized steak and chips and neither red wine were very nice. I wouldn't be rushing back.
