Metro Garden

Restaurant is really cute and perfect for a quite dinner. Food is lovely, but if you are vegan I would recommend to get in touch with restaurant directly and do not rely on booking special requests as we came the waiter had no idea that one of us were vegan, therefore the chef did mix the food and it was a good experience.

Great food and lovely atmosphere, loved all the fairy lights

I took my boyfriend for dinner last Friday evening and we had a great time! The food was average (main course lamb had a really sweet crumb - a little too much maple) and they had run out of a couple of wines which was a shame, but overall we were well looked after and once a few more tables arrived the atmosphere was nice too! I would recommend checking in advance if the garden has a private booking as we had hoped for pre dinner drinks out there but it was not available. Also, don't get there before 8pm on a Friday night as it will be empty!

The food was excellent and the wine was also very good and quite reasonably priced. Only criticism might be the shabby state of the conservatory area we sat in, which has definitely seen better days.

The garden is so beautiful and calming. My partner and I split four starters and were very satisfied. The tuna and the duck egg bruschetta were very tasty but scallops and ginger pig meatloaf were our favorites. Will definitely be returning.

Pleasant. With 5 mains available, choice was small if one particularly wanted a specific main. One steak, duck, fish, vegetarian and the other one. All looked to be cooked well so that is a benefit and makes financial sense.

Important things first the food was divine, the service was friendly and helpful, they were happy to accommodate me being gluten free and the wine was really lovely. The setting was the reason we chose this particular restaurant, it has a beautiful garden area, unfortunately it bucketed it down that day so when we arrived we had been moved to an indoor marquee area, still garden-esk and very pretty and daintily set out with bricked walls and twinkling fairy lights. But to be honest the indoor was also very chic and quaint so I wouldn't have minded being sat in there either! But for when the weather is nice the "secret" garden looks cute and spacious! One tiny tiny word of warning, not that it bothered me but might bother others, they offer bread when you sit down but it isn't free it's a £1. All in all a truly lovely evening and I would happily return!

We had excellent service and wonderful food. The staff are easy going but professional and attentive. The food was delivered promptly, and was very tasty. The Garden is just lovely on a summer's evening. Highly recommended for a "date night".

Great food and service at the metro garden, would certainly go back

My steak was overcooked so hand to send it back. The staff didn't seem too impressed with me asking them to send it back. Afterwards the service was really slow and we eventually had to go up to the bar to pay our bill as the staff took so long sorting the bill.

Good food, great value, friendly staff. Located right next to Clapham Common tube station so it's an easy venue to get to. Have since been back again.

The food was great but service very poor. We waited over an hour for our dessert which never came, eventually we gave up and ordered the bill (twice) which never came... After finding the manager ourselves to pay and complain, the 12.5% service was still added and no discount offered.

Overall had a lovely night catching up with a girlfriend. Staff very friendly and accommodating - making us cosmopolitan cocktails which weren't on the menu. Food was fantastic and the atmosphere. Could improve on service as we had to ask for the menus etc,,, not sure if they cover specific tables as we had 3 different people serve us.....Will return again for sure...Marian

As always fantastic, Andy is the best host. Never fails for food, atmosphere or wine. I never write reviews but felt I should for these guys.

Food was superb, and staff are great - good for a chat. Very relaxed and fun feeling to the place. Has a great low-key vibe to it. House wine is yum too. Nicely decorated and not pretentious at all. Need more places like this in Clapham! Will definitely go here again.

Great restaurant, friendly service and yummy food. Good value overall. Could do with a freshening up in the bar area.

Lovely ambience, very friendly & efficient staff, good menu choices-including a Christmas menu option also (2 things not available on the a la carte menu) and fairly priced......have eaten there before and definitely will do again-highly recommend it!
