Whilst the food was very good, we both felt it was slightly over priced ,we waited just over half an hour for the food which was just about acceptable. The staff were very pleasant but there was a limited choice of beer , cider etc and other diners seemed to be confused about the specials and what was and wasn't available on the evening menu so they need to be clearer about that especially outside on menus, some people came in and left because of it. I don't think I'd go again for dinner but when we are back in keswick again we might try lunch. .
Food was pretty mediocre - had the burger and sweet potato chips. The chips were greasy and flabby. The coleslaw on the side was soft - had obviously been sitting a while. The burger was just ok.
The local fresh food and service is excellent. The menu is a little quirky and often surprising but always delicious. We always return again and again.
Great food - we had breakfast, lunch and dinner here over a week. Dinner of pulled pork tacos was fantastic! Friendly service and a more contemporary look. Love it - highly recommends.
Brilliant food and great service! Highly recommended to friends and family. Our second visit, 2 years apart, we'll be back sooner next time! Thank you
The initial greeting was "have you booked a table?" and a surprised look when I said yes! Service was initially very slow. It was 15-20 minutes before we were asked if we would like a drink. A poor start to the evening. However the food was good when it eventually arrived.
I've always liked Merienda's, ever since they opened their first branch in Cockermouth quite a few years ago. I'd only used the Keswick restaurant for coffee until last night (most excellent coffee, I might add!) but the meal we shared with friends was superb, and cooked to perfection. The staff were happy to sort out what I wanted with gluten and dairy removed, and there are already several gluten-free (and vegetarian) options on the menu. Decor and general ambiance excellent too. Trying to think of any minus points ... I think maybe a gluten and dairy-free dessert would have been nice - fortunately I was so full with my main course I didn't really want a pudding. (All restaurants should keep a tub of dairy free ice-cream in their freezer. Costs a couple of quid, and would make customers like me deliriously happy!) Oh, and we even spotted a celebrity at the next table! (Though tried not let him know we'd recognised him as we didn't want to spoil his evening.)
A very pleasant change from the average 'pub grub' you get in Keswick. And the staff were excellent too! I'd be happy to go there many times if only we lived nearer. Try it and be surprised.
Wonderful restaurant with delicious food and excellent service. Lovely ambience too and a nice selection of drinks on offer. We went back for brunch the next day!
Ate here as a family we all really enjoyed it Delicious food, good service, good rustic decor, imaginative menu with fresh ingredients. Pricing seems fair.Would recommend and would return again.
Great menu, with a good choices for both vegi and glutton free. The staff were friendly and efficient and made us feel very welcomed. The shame was we were leaving the next morning and so couldn't try it again!
Great restaurant, food takes quite a long time to arrive, however it's worth it when it comes with such fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection (I had the salmon!) Staff are friendly and helpful.
The food was OK, though not brilliant value for money; the staff were good; however the seats were really quite uncomfortable. Not an extensive menu.
Food and service were excellent. I would certainly recommend Merienda when visiting Keswick. It's been the best meal of our stay and came highly recommended.
Great food, not so bright service. Could do with paying attention to those sat at the table rather than dealing with the first person in front of you. People on table next to us waited 25 minutes for a desert order to be taken, their response was to ask for the bill. Our 25 minute wait was not appreciated before our order was taken. While we watched the waiting staff make cocktails for randoms who just came in for a drink, 5 sets of people paying the bill, etc etc. Still, great food.
Delicious food and excellent service. This restaurant has a really nice on ambience and the staff are really friendly. My friend is vegetarian and she said that it was the best meal she has had for a long time.
Not a great experience, service was poor & meal was not good. First time I`ve had trout smothered in bbq sauce, bottle of wine put on table & no cooler!! I can cook better myself, so disappointing as last year it was great.
Excellent food, and different from the usual high street offerings and good options for vegetarians. The rhubarb and ginger gin was also an amazing find!
Fantastic food, comfy settings and brilliant service, we left the restaurant feeling very happy :) I also loved that the food was a little different to your usual menu.
Very tasty food - a little bit different. Friendly staff. Seating and tables a bit tight for comfort. Need to book in the evening but we've usually been lucky just walking in through the day.
The service was very good with the staff being friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, especially the brisket burger. Our party was too full to have a dessert!
An excellent restaurant. Limited choice but food is well prepared and presented. Service, even on the busiest nights is good. Wine list is short but is of a uniformly god value. I will definitely be returning!
A great restaurant well presented excellent choice of food hence why we keep returning when we are in Keswick. I recommend the trout it is stunning.
Out of season, so much less busy than summer months, but the restaurant felt all the more intimate as a result. Excellent food with the normal menu/specials supplemented by the Christmas menu. Service attentive, but discreet. Lovely bottle of wine at a sensible price. Will definitely return.
Excellent food, more interesting choices than the average Keswick fayre. Staff friendly and attentive. Very good gin menu. We all enjoyed our meal and the vegetarian choices were good.
Great atmosphere and unusual food. The afternoon cakes are absolutely delicious. The toasted cheese scones with brie and caramelised onions are a must for lunch or brunch.
This is a lovely cafe/ Restaurant. The food is delicious, nice friendly staff. It was so nice I returned the following day for lunch. I will go back every time I stay in keswick
Very good food and service as usual at Meriendas. Slightly cramped table space the only minor issue, though not one that will prevent us returning.
Good food, great service. Lovely atmosphere, if you are in Keswick I would definitely recommend a visit. We went in the evening this time but have also visited during the day and the cakes were great
Lovely food, good atmosphere. Loved the baked trout, cook knows how to use his spices. Veggie Burger also very recommendable. Wine on the cheaper side.
The staff and kitchen are unable to deal with a full restaurant. And as a result the service and quality of the food suffers. Shame as they can do some lovely meals.
Great food, great value, great staff we really like eating here be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. Even the coffee and cakes in the afternoon are great.
great food. quick service. just what you need when there is 8 of us including kids on a Saturday afternoon. would recommend to others visiting the town.
Great food. We throughly enjoyed our evening. Daytime or evening there is a great choice. Friendly staff who are happy to help. I will go again when I'm back in Keswick.
Great food great staff. Very enjoyable 🤓 will return in the future.
Nice meal and service. But dinner sitting next to me was feeding her dog at the table. This is a filthy habit and should be banned.
Excellent small restaurant. Cosy on what was a very wet night. Good welcoming service. Quality food. My wife had sea bass and I had the burger. Both very good. Highly recommend.
Nice atmosphere, staff and food but small portions and a bit pricy. Would recommend on special occasions or if you have enough of pub food ;)
