The restaurant is unassuming, but food was tasty and authentic.
had a great time and good food which reminds me of malaysia
Good service and good food I throughly enjoyed it. Thanks
Asked my friend what he thought of Melur. He said it no great shakes. My friend had the fried beehoon (vermicelli) while I had the nasi lemak. Wow, the sambal anchovy was very good. The small cup of rice didn't seem much but I am still stuffed 8.5 hours later. Had a side order of satay-6 sticks. 4 lamb and 2chicken. My friend raved about the chicken satay. She was right. Washed down with Teh Tarek. The bill was very reasonable. Yep, will definitely go back to try the other dishes. 5/6 stars.
Food was tasty but Raya dinner buffet spread was not impressive
good food and tasty indeed. customer service at its best
Must try! Real authentic Malaysian food! Restaurant is very spacious! Very friendly owners who always greet you with a smile and is sharing what the dishes are about! As they say ‘Truly Malaysia’ !!
We really enjoy the Iftar Buffet with plenty of authentic cuisine
Great restaurant! We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Thanks
Very nice staff, great food (spicy!) and pleasant atmosphere. Recommended!
Friendly service however overall we prefer either the likes of satay house or rasa sayang
The restaurant offers good value delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere feels very friendly and the staff treat you as part of the family.
Amazing food, great price friendly staff felt welcome every time
The food was decent and appropriately valued (excpr the sof shell crab was too expensive) but the service was very slow, the decor was a old and felt a bit dirty over all - the walls needed a lick of paint, the glasses and crockery felt it needed a good scrub and the plating was not pretty at all. A our group came in soon after we ordered and we were make to wait for 45mins for food. We couldnt get hold of during that time and we had no apologies.
Roti Canai tasted like reheated from yesterday Mee Goreng Mamak very strong flavoured and I wondered if I was going to get a stomach upset and decided not to finish the meal. I was OK though.
It's a great place to have a family dinner together.
Good authentic Malaysian food in central London, this is a small family run business hence sometimes service can be a bit slow but good service was received.
Authentic Malaysian food in the heart of London, a short walk from Paddington station. I particularly liked the satay and look forward to returning to try some more dishes.
I come here on Marina O’Loughlin’s recommendation https://www.theguardian.com/profile/marina-oloughlin and long held memories of my 2001 Malaysian elective. It is indeed, after a sweltering tube ride, near-impossible to find. It’s friendly and smells good, though visually nearly as unprepossessing inside as out. Scruffy, but clean. The ice lemon tea is homemade and comes in a sundae glass. Very quenching. Soft shell crab is superlative in salt and pepper. I feel clever just being here, as though I discovered it myself. Nasi Lemak has all its elements: coconut rice, sambal, hard boiled egg, peanut, cucumber, a chicken curry and ikan bilis. It’s all present and correct but does not quite recapture the strangeness of my UH, KL breakfasts. After a litre of ice tea and full to the brim with umami, the bill is only just over £20.
good Malaysian food .slow staff service at weekends. Lobster noodles the best. Difficult for parking.BYI for drinking.Restaurant is below street level be careful on steps down.
Fantastic food. Didn’t realise there was no alcohol on the menu but we were advised by the staff we could go get some and bring it in. That’s said, the non-alcohol drinks were amazing too. Seriously good, well hidden gem.
Very good and authentic Malaysian food. friendly staff. clean set up. affordable. Good value for money. Well worth visiting if craving Malaysian food in London.
We like the sambal belacan very much. However, it is a bit pricier compared to the portion. Nevertheless, we love their kuah kacang! Its only fair if u guys try it by yourself.Definitely, they will pamper you with traditional feeling of malaysia’s food
Lovely family run restaurant. Food was amazing and great value!!
The food is amazing and is at a fair price
good food service.favourite lobster noodles.orginal Malaysian dishes.can get very busy both restaurant and take-away .helpful staff.has separate room for +20 persons.food can be spicey or increased if required
Food was very good and environment was nice and comfortable. Service was good as well. Booking service is good for groups - usually there are plenty of individual sittings available in the weekdays l.
Overall a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and staff at Melur along with good food from starters to the main course and of course lovely non alcoholic cocktails
Yummy food, great service. Try the roti and the lamb on the bone. Would have given a 6 but it was a bit cold inside the restaurant.
Don't be put off by the surroundings, and interior isn't even very smart - but if you like authentic food, this is excellent. Staff very friendly, prices good.
Great atmosphere in restaurant with very friendly staff. The food was great. My only protest would be that the portions could be better balanced. But would definitely come back again.
Authentic, tasty, Malaysian food in a restaurant packed with Malaysians. Always a good sign. You do not come here for the atmosphere, but the friendly staff and great food more than make up for it.
Great food and service, and amazing value. We traveled all the way from Oxford as we had heard great things and it did not disappoint
We wanted to haveva quick lunch and were pleased that we came here. The price is very reasonable and overall restaurant is clean. Service is prompt and quick. Our starter of roti canai was perfect, not oily and fluffy, satay chicken was good with excellent peanut sauce. Our mains of fried noodle - char kway teow was exactly what we need. We enjoyed our desert of sago gula Melaka. Overall we will come again to try the dishes. This is where we will come for authentic malaysian food.
If you want authentic, no frill and quality Malay Indonesian cuisine here’s your destination! The beef randang and fish head curry were to die for ;)
Great food. Overall. Prawns were so tender and juicy in the sambal udang petai and laksa. The sambal was fiery and sweet and the same time. Rendang needed a bit more depth but the beef was so tender. Laksa was very coconutty which is Singapore style but I prefer it with a bit more spice. Would go back though!
Friendly and hospitable restaurant with good Malaysian home cooking. Good family atmosphere - young children enjoying themselves without being overtly intrusive. Will definitely visit again!
Execellent and original food , We try something new , Spicy Lamb fried which is really delicious! Quick service and very friendly and kind staff.
Excellent authentic food and very friendly service. We'll be back to sample more of a very intriguing menu. Panda pancakes were lovely. Restaurant decor also authentic so not posh as such but perfectly fine
Perfect place to hang out with friends and family.service and food is good.the waitress is friendly and very accomodating.surely we will return again soon for lunch.
Food was great! Curry laksa was good but portion was small compared to central London when it costs the same. half the bowl was filled.
Great authentic Indonesian-Malaysian food, friendly staff too. Where we were sat had quite a few flies, but it might be because it's summer. Will definitely visit again.
It was agreat a experience. The hospitality was excellent. Given the fact that it is the fasting month, the choice of food available for the buffet service for iftar was more than the bargain price. The food was delicious. The food selection could add soup or salad (sambal belacan) as improvement
Spacious with friendly and helpful staff. Good choices of foods and reasonably priced. If you cannot take spicy or hot food, do let them know during the order.
If you are looking for Malay cuisine this is the place to visit food taste good love the Asam pedas. Friendly and cosy environment. Will definitely return on my next holiday.
A really friendly place with great, good value food. We had the set menu for 2, which was enough for at least 3!! Looking forward to try other things from their varied menu.
The food was delicious The service was fantastic And we even received watermelon and sweets, compliments of the house!! All in all a wonderful experience, will definitely go again once I get the chance
Very nice food. Better than last visit few months ago. Food is more authentic and although there's room for improvement, it's definitely headin to the correct direction
Good location. Homely setting. Great food and a place to meet friends. The price is a little steep but still reasonable. All in all a good choice
The meal was very tasty, the staff were friendly and the décor was bright. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to others wishing to try the food of Malasia.
