Melange - Barnet

I would rate this restaurant a 6 if it wasn't so noisy. The food, service, staff etc are wonderful but you can't hold a conversation as it is too loud.

Had a delicious fish soup service was good & friendly! Have been 3 times now & always had a good meal! Very bussy. Enjoyed it

Very attentive staff. Nice trendy décor. Menu has a good mix of options to please very different palettes. My daughter is gluten intolerant and she loves their Creamy Mushroom Chicken with fries and Chocolate Mousse, all GF (Ask to change the dauphinoise to fries though). Personally I can thoroughly recommend the house white wine and Barramundi.

The food was excellent, especially the steaks. Would highly recommend.

disappointing steak on the last couple of visits we do better at home! the quality of the meat has deteriorated a lot since it first opened - they need to do something about the horrendous music too

Lovely food and a very nice waitress. We did the two course deal plus wine. One of my party of four thought it a bit expensive.

Fresh Tasty Food, Waiting Staff with Personality, and rather good Cocktails too. A really lovely lunch with the family. Highly recommend for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

the Atmosphere always fantastic with the prompt service from the waiter. For starters kitchen was made the vegetarian when we order meat dish and stake it too rare when we ask for medium.

Always lovely to spend time at Melange in Barnet High Street. Good is well cooked and presented and the staff are friendly and attentive but not in your face. Would highly recommend.

I really enjoyed Melange in Barnet. It had a good atmosphere, cosy but smart decor. The food was very tasty, with ample portion sizes. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back.

Always great food and service is tiptop. The ambience is mellow and great for a date night out. Ask for a window seat and watch the world go by as you sup your wine.

The staff are so attentive and helpful, knowing when to leave you more time and when to serve straightaway. The ambiance is always great and there’s always a crowd even on a weeknight. The food is truly excellent and beautifully presented. My favourite restaurant in High Barnet by far!

Two in the party ordered the Sea Bass dish, the waitress went off and later came back and told us that the Sea Bass was not available. Not good she should have told us before ordering. The fishcakes we all had were very nice but the spinach under was not even wilted it was totally uncooked. Not a happy experience today but the tea was good! We asked for some plain butter for the breads and that tasted of garlic! We asked for a second glass of white wine for my usband to have with lemonade as I had, but all he was brought was a bottle of the emonade. In the end I shared my wine with him. Very nice waitress but there was a problem with the language.

As always. Excellent food and excellent service. Fantastic choices for pescatarians and a gently shifting menu with old favourites and new choices always available. Unbeatable Barnet restaurant. We will be back!

Delicious food and friendly and attentive waitresses. They made a special effort considering it was my anniversary - seat by the window and complimentary dessert. Our food was cooked beautifully and it was all reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for a special evening.

We were greeted at the door as soon as we arrived. Food was delicious and the service as you would expect. :) Would recommend this restaurant to other friends.

4 of us visited Melange for the first time for Sunday lunch. We all agreed it was a good choice and would certainly come back again. We all had 3 courses each, I especially enjoyed the fish stew, and others enjoyed Lemon Sole and Burramundi. Service was excellent

Good food, friendly service and it was just about right so far as noise level went but it wasn’t a busy evening. I imagine on a busy night its not the place for a quiet dinner but we enjoyed it and would recommend.

A quiet Sunday evening meal with friends. Sat close to the front of the restaurant, which was great on such a baking hot evening as they opened the whole front up and we caught whatever breeze there was. Service and food good, and decent value, and when we had a small issue with one dessert it was dealt with quickly and to our total satisfaction. Will be back.

Excellent food always a good experience . Friendly staff and quick service. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had delicious summer sorbets for dessert.. scrumptious

Went to Melange for dinner with my wife. We go regularly to Melange all year round but it's never better than in the summer where all the glass frontage opens up to let in the fresh air. Food was fantastic and steak night on Thursdays is great value if you fancy a bottle of wine.

Delicious food - great service! Thursdays Steak offer good value 2 steaks, can upgrade the wine if you want to. Quite a few Gluten Free options on tbe menu.

Professional Service Chilled Ambience Good Food The Tomato and Pesto bread was lovely. Good value for money. Attentive and courteous servers. Lovely desert. Pecan pie was spot on

Interesting menu and food good. Very pleasant decor and atmosphere. Service a bit slow. Our party all seated by 6.30pm but food didn't arrive until about 7.20. However, servers were attentive and helpful.

The meat dishes seemed to have been good. The veggiw soup I ordered was bland. But comments are right about the service, it's a bit scattered and no one even asked us how our food was.

We had a lovely evening at melange. The food was great and the wine selection was good, we had a nice merlot. Good atmosphere too, I would definitely go again.

Lovely Sunday afternoon late lunch. We sat near the open doors at the front so it was as though we were sitting outside. The restaurant wasn’t very busy but we were there early evening. My friend and I both had the steak which were cooked just as ordered and very tasty. I’ve been to Melange many times and it’s always been very good.

Dreadful service, particularly since the restaurant was half empty. One very nice waitress, one very rude one and we had to wait way too long for the food which was ok, nothing special

An above average brasserie experience. The chicken salad was delicious with fresh ingredients. The fillet steak was cooked perfectly (as asked) and good. Will most probably go back.

Lovely food but really poor service. The management realised there was a problem and deducted the cost of drinks from the bill. It was a shame.
