Melange - Barnet

Delicious food with lots of variety. and reasonably priced. The service was excellent and our waitress was very attentive and efficient. An all round great evening and we will definitely visit again soon.

Staff are always friendly and helpful ,the food is as well ,always amazing. Delicious and cooked to perfection . Not to expensive either. Love it.

Lovely meal at Melange last night. We were initially shown to a table towards the rear of the restaurant, close to the kitchen and toilets - which was very hot! It was a lovely evening so we asked to be moved to the front part of the restaurant which was lighter and airy with the open front - and they accommodated our request immediately. Food was delicious - we started with tuna carpaccio x 2 (one of the specials), tiger prawns and chicken liver pâté. Followed by fish stew x 2, rib eye steak and a fillet steak. All were really tasty - I had the fillet and it was one of the nicest pieces of meat I've had for a long time. None of us had room for puddings! With a bottle of pinot and several peronis, the bill came to around £40 a head, quote reasonable I think. Our only comment would be that the round tables which seat four get rather cramped when food arrives, especially once bread, side orders, wine coolers, water and glasses etc add to the mix! Service was very good, all staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Great menu with enough choice , very friendly staff even though it was a busy Friday night. Might try their special 'steak for 2 ' Thursdays next !

Wonderful food and excellent service. Really enjoyed our evening. Throughly recommend the Batramundi which was fab as were the scallops to start. Best restaurant in High Barnet.

Lovely food and lovely service! Our table wasn't quite ready so they gave us a round of drinks on the house at the bar while we waited. Love coming here as the staff are always so friendly. Also I rated the noise as loud but I don't think that is a bad thing!

Lively restaurant in Barnet High Street with a good selection of food and friendly service. One annoyance was that several of our main courses weren't accompanied by vegetables so ordering sides adds to the cost of the meal.

Very enjoyable meal loved the fish stew & yummy cream caramel friends enjoyed sirloin steak, friendly efficient service only compliant a number of dishes had run out by 8pm but would definately go back & recommend.

Service was 1st class from our waitress Anna. The sourdough bread with the crab mayo was out of this world (the crab mayo was pretty good too!). Steaks were very good and cooked just as we asked. Chips could have been a little bit more well done. All in all a very enjoyable 1st visit. We will be back.

Welcoming and attentive staff. "Buzzing" ambience. Excellent food and service. A competitively priced and very popular venue. We have eaten at "Melange" several times and have never been disappointed.

The staff were friendly and the service was good. They were always there when you needed to order any item but they were not over intrusive.

We had a very enjoyable brunch. Everything we saw being served looked very tempting but we went for the eggs Benedict which were really good as was the service. We really liked the restaurant and will definitely have brunch there again and probably give lunch/dinner a try.

Went for lunch. We had burgers and pork belly and roasted vegetables as a starter. The food was excellent well prepared and presented. Service friendly and efficient. We had a good time

Varied menu and tasty food which was all well served and presented. Everyone in our group of 4 chose different dishes and we were all delighted with our choices. A great mid-week local restaurant. We will be back.

Definitely try the steak. It was beautifully done and the service was excellent. It was my 2nd time there and it was even better than the first time.

Great family restaurant, ideal place for brunch. Their avocado hollandaise is a thing of beauty. Prices reasonable for quality of food. Menu is the opposite of a 'talking menu'. Sounds quite boring but delivers quality.

A good meal, restaurant really busy as it was Mothers Day. Service was a little slow, but food was excellent as it always is !

Lovely place to eat. Very yummy food o would defintily be going back. I got a delicious fruit salad with yogurt and jam, also had a peppermint tea to satisfy my stomach.

A bit of a wait, which is understandable on Mother's Day. Staff seemed a little bit flustered at times but were very attentive and pleasant. The food was delicious and we will definitely come again in future. Thanks for a lovely meal!

Brunch was nice and toast was served warm. A good selection of breakfast options. Pleasant surroundings and waiting staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall would recommend for Brunch.

Very busy, but it was Mum's Day. Took a few minutes to get served a drink, but once we got started the service was good. The food was enjoyed by all. Melange is consistently good so very happy to return.

Slightly disappointed as previous experience here has been excellent. It was very busy, and while our waitress tried very hard and was lovely, the tuna orders were confused (medium tuna served rare) and the soft boiled eggs were cold - off puttingly so. Let's hope this was a one- off as good restaurants in Barnet are thin on the ground!

I have eaten there many times and on this visit took two friends who had never been before , I should stress that I've never been disappointed and my two friends said it was the best steak that have had in years I had the seafood pasta as I've enjoyed it many times before , it was not up to the usual standard and I left most of it The waitress explained that the main chiefs were on holiday and would I like to order something order something from the menus ,to her credit

Food was good when it came Slow service and we were charged for 2 bottles of wine on the bill when we only had 1 Also bought hot drinks in glasses with No handles so impossible to pick up!

When I arrived there was a warming ambience. They had a guitarist playing discreetly. The food was great and my party all thoroughly enjoyed their food. We all left wanting to return again soon.

I have visited Melange a number of times and the food is always very good. I dined early on a bank holiday so the restaurant was quiet. However the staff are friendly and welcoming and my partner and I had a lovely evening.

I ate here on a Thursday evening with two friends and the food was excellent as usual - I think the chef is very good. However we do find it a little noisy for conversation and the service could have been a fraction more attentive otherwise I would have given this a six.

This is an amazing restaurant where the food was out of this world. I would highly recommend it for romantic couple nights to family gatherings.

Lovely food and great service. This restaurant continues to be a welcome addition to Barnet. It was really good to see it full on a Saturday night!

Fine apple tart was inedible, overdone, flat and very little apple to be seen. But at least it was removed from our bill. All motherhood very good (fish cake) especially vegetable sides. Good service, nice atmosphere.

Party if 6. We had a couple of issues with Service - the kitchen had issues with my wife's starter AND main - but they redeemed themselves by taking both items off of the bill. I think that my wife was more frustrated by being told to 'calm down' by the waitress at one point than by the initial problems. However, the food and ambience were both good, and we will go again on that basis.

Excellent food, great atmosphere and very nice and accomodating staff. Came with two children and had a great evening, the steak is always cooked to your liking and I highly recommend the creme brule for pudding.

We enjoyed really good food and wine which came at timely intervals, water on the table without us having to ask. All the staff were attentive at the table.

Great service, really attentive and pleasant. We ordered from the set menu, and although one of the mains was mediocre, the steak was perfectly cooked. The Brie and Pate starters stood out as the best things we had, and the cheese board was great. This place is great for the money, and worth anyone's time.

Very good service and wide selection of wines reasonably priced. Everyone enjoyed their food. A little bit limiting for vegetarians but what they did provide was very good quality and tasty. Third time I've been and always enjoyed it.

Food always good as is the service. Tables a little too close together though, especially if there are only two of you dining. Nowhere to hang coats either as facility broken.

I haven't had a dinning out experience like this in a long time. The staff where so lovely and didn't want to rush you out the door. The food was extraordinary. I've already recommended this place to several of my friends. Will be back soon.

Had the ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly.my partner enjoyed the seafood linguine.staff very friendly and the service very good .altogether a very enjoyable evening .

Tables too close together to the point of discomfort and impeding good service though the waiting staff were pleasant and tried hard. I even had to disturb other diners to get to the toilets. Also they ran out of one of the mains on the special menu.

Went for an early pre -cinema visit for four people and we were served three courses within an hour and a quarter. Food was beautiful presented with great service.

Great find in Barnet. Decor is easy on the eye and the food is amazing, we ate from the set menu which is very reasonably priced. Cocktails were delicious and the staff were very attentive. Will definitely be returning!

The food was excellent and service good! We've been to Melange in Barnet lots of times and we love it. This time it was sooooo busy that we had to wait for our table. The staff were nice so they gave us a free round of drinks 🍹 because we had to wait - so that can't be bad!
