Melange - Crouch End

Went on a Thursday and was able to take advantage of the set menu. Great food and great value. Seafood risotto was delicious! Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Food is good, service is friendly but they seem to forget about you once the food is on the table. Would be nice to followup and also keep an eye out for people wanting the bill.

Lovely neighbourhood restaurant. The food was very good - the fig tart got particularly good reviews and the steaks excellent. Service was fine, if a little inconsistent.

Party of 4. Starters, Mains and Desserts all excellent. Good choice of wines, beers and Breton cider! We'll be going again next time we go to the Crouch End Picture House!

Lovely food, excellent attentive service without being obtrusive . Lots of sharing dishes so great for a large group, Always nice atmosphere and good value for money.

Always a great evening at Melange. The food is beautiful, the wine is gorgeous, the ambience is great, the staff are lovely, friendly, helpful yet unobtrusive.

The service was very good, the choice of mains on the menu was excellent, I had the tuna which was cooked to perfection. All the staff were very friendly.

Friendly, polite and attentive staff. Classy menu, made with quality ingredients, cooked well and presented artistically. Nice bubbly atmosphere, but not too loud. Good wines and stylish yet classic decor. Will definitely visit again.

Disappointing and bland food. The steak was tough and under-seasoned. The garlic chips were also average and tasteless. Desserts are microwaved; the waitress admitted as much. Would not return.

Love this restaurant always. Great service and great menu. The only downside this time was they were very busy (sunny day!) and so they had run out of most of their menu. But what we did have was still lovely!

Food OK but a bit overpriced for what it was; fairly limited menu; reasonably enjoyable evening but nothing special. Service attentive and staff friendly. Wouldn't go back in a hurry.

Great value set menu. All dishes were really tasted and there were plenty of options. I’m not sure there were as good specials on the set menu. the last time I ate here. Service very good.

As far as I remember with Melange, you always go well. I would just like the would change the Charlie Chaplin video they play with the projector. I guess that is the same since 3 years now (maybe more).

Friendly service. Delicious starters (scallops are especially recommended). Good food; I especially like Melange's steaks. And they offer a lovely Malbec to accompany your steak. Who wants more ?

the staff went out of their way to help give me a meal without garlic, for which I was very grateful. They are very friendly and helpful.

Another excellent meal here. The food really does exceed expectations and great value for money. Service could improve. Cork snapped by awkward opening at table, plates removed while people still eating and often difficult to summon attention because service staff remains at bar end. Simple thing which could easily be resolved.

Great atmosphere especially in the evening for adults. Many Crouch End restaurants have become havens for kids! Service was excellent being very polite, attentive and informative. Good value for money. Will be returning soon.

Great little restaurant in central Crouch End. Good menu and a refreshing change from all the chains. Well priced too. Typically £20 cheaper than Cote etc for two

Lovely food but the service was not satisfying. One waitress was so grumpy and rude. Another one was very kind but broke some plates. The overall feeling is that the service is dragging down the standard of the restaurant.

Pleasant surroundings with excellent food. Minimum fuss, prompt and considerate service. I would recommend Melange to anyone. The Cassoulet was particularly good this evening. One of my favourite local restaurants.

The veal chop was the best I had in my life! The staff were lovely but started pushing drinks and starters at us before we could take our coats off and messed up our drinks order. The food was excellent though so highly recommended.

Very pleasant dining experience. Good choices, including vegetarian dishes. Waiting staff are very helpful and attentive, and the ambiance is relaxed and friendly. Ideal for a mid week evening out.

Not great to be honest. Told us on arrival we would need to vacate by 8.30. My food had to be returned as it was cold. 2 of the other meals were tasteless and bland . Will not go there again.

Quick service. Food tasty, although brunch presented in boxes with mushrooms in mason jars is a little too achingly trendy for my taste. Reasonable prices, not cheap but not overly expensive either.

For a person without a sweet tooth, a set menu for Valentine's day which did not include a cheese option for desert was aways going to be a problem. However, after entreating both our servers to prevail on the chef, I eventually had the camembert starter as a desert. It came with a two quid supplement (no quibble there), but I'd have been perfectly happy with just the cheese alone, rather than it being baked as the starter was...

Great atmosphere, really stunning food (we had the lobster and steak) and the service was fab. I am definitely planning on going back and would reccomend it.

We opted for the special menu which I would say is definitely worth it 3 courses for under £20! the options are not too restricted either- a good selection. Nice intimate venue.

Nice place with a good varied menu. Smiling pleasant waiting staff. Would go back and have no problem recommending it as a handy place to drop into in crouch end where there is a lot of competition .

We had a lovely meal at Melange, the staff were friendly and the food was good. Our only criticism was that we felt a bit cramped at our table.

We have been to Melange on several occasions, and taken friends and not been disappointed. We arrived just before 9p.m. and shown to our table by a very friendly waitress, had excellent food and wine and had a very pleasant evening.

We have been meeting from time to time at Melange for quite a few years. We can always expect very attentive service and lovely food.

The food was pretty average and the service rushed and slapdash. The corner bench seat we had was comfortable. Service charge was added to the bill.

The food and the service was good. The food came a little too fast so felt that we were in and out in not time at all.

We love the atmosphere at the Crouch End ,and whenever we have to celebrate our special occupation Melange was the first choice in our list. Great Birthday cake last time.. Thank you every one.x

Excellent service. Just about the right amount of time in between courses. Food cooked to perfection and piping hot. Very reasonably priced wine list. Overall a great experience.

Have eaten at Melange quite a few times, prior to a cinema outing. After a 'dip in form' pleased to report that my guests and I thought the food was very good and the service excellent. Bien fait!

Went here for new years, the food and service were great - unfortunately though the restaurant did not advertise that there was only the set new years menu to order from, and we were told we had to have all 3 courses in order to stay. If this had been made clearer then we might not have attended on new years, however have had the regular Melange menu in the past and it was really nice.

Great food beautifully served on plate . Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. They are family friendly. One thing , that crouch end branch is bit small and sometimes it might be lack of privacy.

Food as good as usual, but not what we ordered as items had run out. Further delays in taking the reorder. Service therefore felt on the slow side.

Full English Breakfast very nicely done and a good sized portion. Very Berry Smoothie is packed with flavour and refreshing. A good, classic cappuccino. Pancakes also tasty and good sized portion.

Booked a tasble, which was ready and waiting. Food was good, coffee was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly. I particularly liked the rillettes.

The food has gotten better since they opened over a year ago. The service is still spotty, but enjoyable experience overall. Prosecco should be served with white wine glass.

We went on the 02/05/17 to the Crouch End branch. This was our first time here, lovely and cosy resturant. The food and service was brilliant for us.

Excellent service as usual. Wine was good. Usually go for lunch but dinner this time. Food was okay but slightly under expectation. Mussel as starter was soft and not overkilled with herbs. Sirloin steak was just fair. Not tendered and a bit chewy.

We had a good time, as usual. Calamari starter was lovely and so was dessert. I had lamb shank for main and it didn't quite fall off the bone like I would have expected, it was a bit of a struggled to get the meat off. Tasted nice though and the house wine is delicious.

As usual food and service were excellent. Melange us our favourite local family restaurant. Good to hear they have also opened a branch in Belsize Park. Can't wait to try it

We really like tihis place - busy but not noisy, great cocktails, varied menu and above all, delicious food. Lemon sole was excellent and the creme caramel exceptional.
