Mela - Harborne

Mela is a fantastic restaurant in Harborne we have been a few times now staff are always. very friendly and welcoming food is always piping hot and tastes amazing

This was our first time at Mela and it won't be our last. Service was excellent as well as the food which was nice & hot (Not spicy hot) prices were quite reasonable too. We were told they also did a take out service so we took one of their menus for future use. Spotless bathroom facilities. The only downside I would mention is there is a flight of stairs to get to restaurant I couldn't see disabled access for anyone who needs it. Overall we'll definitely go back.

Lovely ambience, professional service, delicious food. Thank you so much fior making this a lovely evening to remember. We look forward to visiting you again.

Really good atmosphere at the Mela last night food was fantastic and service excellent as always. Would definitely recommend it. Will be going again soon.

Have been eating out in harborne for years but must have overlooked this gem. Food was delicious, service was good and will definitely return - totally enjoyed it.

Great food. Restaurant was packed but service was as good as always. Mela has become my go-to for Indian food. So much choice and never had a bad dish.

Service and food was up to the usual excellent standard we have come to expect when we visit Mela. It will not be long before we return again.

Amelia is in a very good location and as got a very pleasant atmosphere the service was excellent and the food was very good and we had a very enjoyable evening

Meal is a great curry house. The food is always delicious and the presentation of the dishes can be faulted. A regular for me !!

We were very well and promptly served despite there being a large party to be catered for. The staff were welcoming and attentive and the food was excellent.

Very nice meal and good service. Would very much like to go again. I would particularly recommend the mixed platter for starters which is enough for two persons.

Gorgeous food, pleasant, stylish setting, friendly service and good value. What more could you ask for? This place is a 'hidden gem', accessed from a single door on the street up a staircase, so don't miss it!

Early evening meal with our daughter who's just started at Birmingham Uni. Thought she might need a good meal!! She didn't get a good meal - she got an excellent meal. Menu was a bit different. I had the lamb from their speciality page - beautiful. Really tender meat and full of flavour. Could easily miss restaurant as single doorway with restaurant upstairs. Don't let entrance put you off as dining area very upmarket. Totally recommend.

drinks were off I decided to tell the waiter who instead patronised us by telling us it was due to the ice. The drinks were undrinkable & we were still charged £5:95. No aplogy or nothing. Food was ok but really oily. Price wise over price for what u get. Sorry its not the best.

Went for a birthday meal, party of three. Lovely food, great service and a fantastic set up restaurant. Overall a real hidden gem on Harborne High Street.

Nice restaurant. Good good and a decent service. Lamb with main very chewy but still tasty. Table under air conditioning fan so cold blasts now and again.

Great food, staff and atmosphere. It's my local Indian restaurant and never fails to deliver. Staff are friendly and welcoming, my favourite dish is the chana paneer

We're regulars and are always treated well and love the food. The menu could do with refreshing as it's been the same for a while but always good value for money

Lovely resteraunt with very attentive staff. Food was lovely for all 4 of us who had good. We were even given complimentary coffee after our meal. Would definitely recommend!

We visited this restaurant for the first time although we are frequent visitors to other Indian restaurants in Birmingham. We had a good welcome and enjoyed the food very much; the service was very attentive and the atmosphere pleasing. We had the celebratory meal for £14.95 which was extremely good value. We will go back.

As always we received a friendly welcome with prompt and polite service. The décor and ambience are most attractive - light, fresh and modern. The food was excellent and the portions generous. Bring-your-own drink is a great bonus!

Great food but no customer service, said thank you multiple times to one waiter and not once did he acknowledge me. Not even a thank you when paying bill. Shame

Excellent - friendly staff, excellent food (shish kebabs some of the best I've eaten) and bonus of take your own wine and/or beer - although they are licenced. Bonus of being local and able to use my Taste Card too!

Mela is only indian restaurant we go to. Been going here around 7mths. Last weekend was no different - good food and good service. Always recommend.

Fantastic food and great service. Some really unique dishes. Both quality and quantity is brilliant. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to any lover of Indian food.

We first visited Mela in November last year. Lovely food and excellent service. Mela is the only place we go now when we want a curry in a restaurant. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed the excellent four course set meal, with a platter starter.Food and service fantastic! Enjoyed a bottle of house white wine priced at 6.95.

Great service - waiters made sure we were seen to and satisfied at all times. Drink recommendations were made, and a free taster was offered when we were unsure about which drink to order. We were not kept waiting, and felt well looked after. Food was of a good standard and portion sizes were generous.

We had to wait 1/2 an hour for a table, no drinks offered while we waited. Table was nicely presented and drinks served at the table. Staters were good, but the time taken to serve the main courses took to long meaning the first out was cold by the time the last came out. This somewhat tainted the evening as we were entertaining friends & had billed Mela as a premium curry house. Would think twice about going again

I was surprised that the restaurant was entered via just a door that led to stairs that arrived at a restaurant above a row if shops. However the food was excellent, the service from all the staff was attentive and engaging, and although noisy ( as the place was very busy) that added to rage sense of atmosphere.

As always, great food, friendly helpful staff, nice decor and lighting..... Very reasonable prices. Although Mela has a licensed bar you are able to take your own drinks along too.

Cheap as chips, and you get what you pay for. Starters were delicious, mains were greasy and very sparing with the meat. Tasted ok, but not really worth going back for.

Delicious food with fresh quality taste, staff who go the extra mile with customers and very nicely layed out. Best curry house in harborne by far!
