Great atmosphere, tasty tapas! Friendly staff were very accommodating when we had to move our reservation. The cheerful bustle and din of the place make for a fun and social dinner.
I have been going to Mar I Terra now for quite a few years and have never had a bad experience there. The staff are always welcoming and attentive.
Fabulously tasty down-to-earth tapas; good well-priced wine selection and lovely homely service. A definite must-visit place if youre on the Southbank or at the Old Vic theatre.
Superb, relaxed and efficient local restaurant serving tradition Spanish favourites in an unpretentious setting. The food and service here are fantastic, the staff are welcoming him, the price is inexpensive and the ambience of the restaurant is excellent. Can highly recommend here anytime!
Thoroughly enjoyed the tapas selection we had for lunch. Our waitress was particularly good, knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. Would definitely go back.
Been coming here for years, best Tapas restaurant in London. Really authentic. Lovely friendly staff and owners. Don’t be put off by its quirky location😀
Wonderful restaurant that I’m always returning to. Family atmosphere with authentic food that reasonably priced. Perfect for a pet theatre meal or special occasion. Will be heading back very soon.
We had a fantastic dinner last night before a show at the Young Vic. We sat in the charming courtyard out back. The tapas were superb -- patatas bravas and prawns with garlic worth a particular mention. A good selection of wine by the glass. Very reasonably priced and with super-friendly service. A real find down a quaint side street.
lovely food and good service too definitely recommend it. Had sardines, prawns and meatballs all lovely . Waiter and waitress very friendly great service . Lovely pink prosecco too
Lovely authentic tapas which was reasonably priced. The drinks though were expensive. Our Cava was very nice but at £33 seemed overpriced. The service was good and the staff were efficient and professional we would return.
This is a brilliant place, it is not too busy, has friendly and helpful staff as well as great food. I don’t want it to be ‘discovered’!
A great evening sitting in the courtyard at the back of the restaurant. Good food and wine. A very good atmosphere with plenty of laughter and conversation.
Great location, hidden garden at the back cool with a couple of lovely trees. Delicious tapas, hard to pick one dish as outstanding as they were all very tasty. Friendly and efficent service. A real gem.
Lovely little restaurant with excellent food and wine selection. Staff very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting authentic tapas from an independent local business
We had a good time at this family run restaurant. The tapas are authentic and not bought from some cash and carry. Prices, considering you're in the centre of London, are excellent. We'll return.....
We sat in the nice garden to rear. Great staff who are happy to help you learn a bit of Spanish. Tapas was great, esp the aubergine ones.
The food was great and the staff very friendly.Good selection of wines. We sat in the garden which was a very pleasant surprise! It was like being in Spain
Amazing, homely, authentic, delicious, quaint, unpretentious, an unspoilt piece of Spain in Southwark. Highly recommend... if the weather is good, the court yard garden makes is quite perfect.
Great food - traditional, straightforward and tasty. Good service too - recommend the outside courtyard if weather is good. Will definitely return in the near future
All the tapas were tasty, very traditional menu, reasonable prices. Garden is very close to the train station so you may hear noise every 10 minutes or so but it's ok..
Good fun .Service good .Food as good as needed to be and jolly tasty.Really good local restaurant that we will revisit very happily .crispy pork belly a highlight.
Lovely atmosphere and pleasant staff. The food is really fab - best I’ve had for a long time. Great wine list too which isn’t too expensive.
Very good service with lots of cold water offered- needed in this heat. Wine and food all great especially the fish and spinach. Garden very attractive.
Great service.really good value.tasty food-loved the patatas bravas, sardines, calamari.sharing board.of meats went down a treat. Rioja Wine was great value and superb smooth taste. We will return to sample other great dishes.
Excellent authentic Spanish tapas bar... reasonably priced , in an out of the way location, so not heaving busy ! Very good house wine and less than £20 and a sublime Spanish desert wine to finish.
Lovely food in a very relaxed atmosphere. Very authentic feeling & made me feel as if I was in Spain ! Staff very attentive & helpful. Would definitely go again !!
Food and drink excellent and service perfect. I have been visiting Mar I Terra for many years and have never been disappointed. I recommend this establishment as Top Tapas.
Good tapas and great, attentive service. Good service feels so rare that when you get it, you remember how much it can enhance the whole experience of eating out!
One of the best tapas restaurants in London! Authentic atmosphere, very generous and well-priced portions and a quiet, cozy little garden dining area out back. We'll be back!
We ate in the courtyard garden. All the food was delicious and the wines were good. Recommended for any occasion and dining a deux or in a group.
Fabulous food and great staff. A real little gem hidden away and love the fact you can eat in the garden on a warm day/night. Would definitely recommend to friends and would go back in a heart beat.
Always enjoy this tapas restaurant after my visits to the Tate. Great ambiance and authentic Spanish food. Nice leisurely pace too. I will return soon.
Really lovely place! Very accommodating for my wheat allergy and service was great!
great food and service! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Great little restaurant with really good and genuine tapas, fab wines and lovely staff. Perfect before or after a production at the nearby Cervantes theatre which puts on plays in Spanish and English. Try both places!
Good atmosphere, good sangria. The backyard is tucked away from the hustle of London which is lovely. Food is ok, not amazing so if you're there for food, then there are better tapas places. But if you're there with good company, some food and plenty of drinks in the backyard then it's a good place.
Mar I Terra brings authentic Spanish cuisine to Southwark. Owner and staff are always welcoming. Friendly, relaxed and great food and wine - nice lunch in the sunny garden....
Amazing food and really great service. I've been coming for about 10 years and always had a good experience here. This is the best tapas in London.
Great food, nice wine, quiet but cosy ambience, didn't break the bank. Service felt a bit rushed and under-resourced. Would definition recommend for a quiet dinner option.
This restaurant is a charming family run institution. It never disappoints. Delicious tapas and lovely service. A firm favourite with my family - I would thoroughly recommend it to everyone.
Great food, little outside courtyard to sit in (under the trains!) and friendly service. Perfect for an after work supper with friends. Great Rioja too!
Good evening with friendly service in the courtyard. Some of the dishes we had this evening were not our usual choices, and we really loved the chick peas and some of the other dishes. The kitchen has a great way with seasoning, which is not ‘in your face’ the way it can be in some places, but much more subtle and delicate, so that dishes go together really well.
Mar I Terra is a lovely, tucked away restaurant. It has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with fast service, a good wine list and great food.
We loved our meal at Mar I Terra. We haven't been for ages and it didn't disappoint. Great food and service. It was perfect for all 3 generations!
sole diner on this occasion and made to feel welcome during a quiet session but really loved the place. Very friendly and relaxing. Excellent tapas dishes to choose from. A little gem tucked awsy close to Southwark tube station. will definitely go again.
Delightful tapas bar with friendly service and relaxing atmosphere. Great if you want to chat as no loud music. Highly recommend food as well and some interesting wines.
This must be the best tapas restaurant I’ve ever been to ; small and tucked away in bankside, it’s the kind of secret place that the locals have been going to for years. Very friendly welcome, great atmosphere, always packed, stunning food, a fabulous house red; what more could you want?
Delicous food and great atmosphere. The chick peas with spinach was amazing. Will definitely be going back soon. A lovely discovery in the back streets of Southwark.
Very friendly staff and great food, we ordered a second round! the ambience was really good too, relaxed. A hidden gem in this area I would say.
Good location close to Waterloo and Southwark station...Delicious Tapas, great wine and lovely ambience... would definitely recommend for a chilled out venue to catch up with friends...😊
