When we decide to dine in the Canary Wharf area and if we chose Indian food, our obvious choice is the Manjal restaurant. I was there with my friend on April 20th and it was a great experience as usual. The food was authentic and amazing as usual. We opted for lamb kothu roti, kerala parata, and chicken chettinad with taste of india (which is a mix of indian desserts like gulab jamun, halwa, etc.) along with kulfi. The staff are friendly and the hotel surroundings (and the water-side view) are nice too. Their enormous choice of south and north Indian food makes it an ideal choice for any time of food-lover. So far, we have never been disappointed and I hope and wish that the restaurant keep up its good work and maintain the high standard in the coming days too.
It was my first visit to Manjal & I went there with my colleague on a sunny Friday afternoon. The food was great with sumptuous large portions , the ambience was excellent & the staff were very friendly & professional. Awesome experience overall .
We ordered the ghee dosa, mango lassi, and paneer appetiser dish. Mojitos for drinks. The food Is really delicious here and the service is great!
All went really well. Food was great, maybe bit too hot. As it was quite crowdy took some time to get a bill. But other then that all good, will come again.
Excellent food as always, great service. Everyone loved it. The menu is huge, so many different choices. All 10 of us were very impressed. Thank you!
Amazing chicken 65 and lamb biryani. Beautifully cooked and presented dishes in attractive modern surroundings on the very edge of the water. A lovely location along the riverbank.
Very nice food, staff were very polite and professional, nice restaurant, looking forward to going back soon in summer as location is great and the views I'm sure will be fantastic too
I wud like to give u 8/10 if I cud bt I giv3 u 6 Nice restaurant ,friendly staff nice frsh food only thing is litbit expensive otherwise everything is fine ..I luv to recommend everyone ...awesum
There was nice ambiance and food was also decent.. I found the prices to be ok. The service was good. Overall it was a nice experience
Food tasted fantastic and portions were surprinsgly good, service was good and i was seated quick with food arriving in good time. Great place would go again!
Good food, more suited to the English palette than to foodies with native Indian palette. I would say Good Anglicised Indian food. Ambience is decent too.
first time visit .food God staff very good very friendly. service of food a little slow we had a bit of a wait. If food had come faster we would have given better score.
Very good quality food and an excellent service. Not the cheapest, buth worthy. Allways busy at lunch time, hence it is advisable to book in advance. Many thanks!
very good restaurant. Liked the methi chicken and nan very much. The service was also prompt in a clean environment. One of the better indian restaurants in town.
Reasonable but not exited I had a deep fried prawns starter and was good but not special. Main course chicken (hot) with rice. Chicken sauce expected hot but was mildly. Restaurant looks like a Chinese restaurant inside and missing the Indian culture.
Please improve the service. I think the team needs a basic professional restaurant training. For the rest experience is great. The food is fantastic! Thanks
Food was absolutely delicious and service great (though it’s included in the bill). 2 mistakes were made to the food orders but were dealt with graciously and quickly.
Delicious Indian food, very cosy environment and great staffs. I felt the dishes were a bit overpriced as compared to quantity, so giving one less rating here. Otherwise I had wondered experience here.
Excellent food, service and very helpful staff. This is a true "find" on the Isle of Dogs. If you like Indian food, you will like Manja ! Can't wait to go back !
Great price, food and a good service to go with it. I visit this establishment on a regular basis and will continue to do so.
Didn’t have lime pickle or lamb shank, but food was excellent. Service was fast and the variety of dishes was pretty good. Good Southern Indian food...
Great food ..... as always (!) but you never know if a good restaurant will suffer as a result of large parties at Christmas. And Manjal didn't - the food was as delicious as always. Service wasn't quite on point (hence the deduction of a star) but I'd rather that than the food quality suffering.
It was easy to book online on the day for more than six people. Table was ready on arrival. Lovely restaurant, good food and welcoming staff.
I have visited restaurant with my 4 month old daughter and the hospitality I was given was awesome. Food was tasty and desserts tasted delicious. It was my 3rd visit.
Lovely restaurant. The food was exceptionally delicious, given the fact that we were a party of 10 people. Very clean and the service was very good too.
Manjal Indian Restaurant always delivers exceptional food and my visit today was no different to all my previous visits. Always a pleasure and cannot wait for an excuse to visit again.
Staff very friendly and accommodating. My partner didn't like one of the dishes (nothing wrong with it-just not to his taste) and so they gave us another complimentary dish. Food overall very good and his complimentary birthday dessert was delicious!
Awesome place. They helped us make the birthday celebration even more special. Special thanks to Andrea for helping us pre-setup the place and being part of the surprise.
This group dinner was to say goodbye to my colleagues as I change jobs. It was amazing food, great service. A thoroughly fun night, exactly what dining out in a group should be. Thank you!
Excellent food, with dishes from India - a welcomed difference to the more typical Asian restaurants in the area. Service also good and friendly. Definitely recommend it.
Great customer service and inexpensive. Staff were friendly. Quality of food was excellent apart from a little disappointment with the ‘garlic’ prawn starter. Turned out to be battered prawn served with a ketchup dip. I would recommend anyone trying it out
Diwali lunch with 11 other office colleagues was very enjoyable as the staff service was helpful & efficient, food was delicious & ample and the on-the-house dessert from the management was a sweet treat! Everyone was complimenting the dining experience and we thank the restaurant staff & management for the pleasant lunch. We look forward to the next visit.
overall it was ok, but food was average. it is a nice restaurant in a good location and the prices are reasonable. Staff was helpful
Was a nice location, a bit rushed at the start but was overall pleasant. Wasn't given any hand wipes at the end like the table next to us.
The food was great and the staff were lovely! I would definitely recommend to try one of their dosa (pancakes). I will definitely go back to try other dishes again.
The food was delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere, decor and surroundings of the restaurant were pleasant and modern. Our group of five really enjoyed our lunch there
Great service great food. Very clean place. Book in advance if you can it was busy even for a Monday. Great variety of Indian food.
Overall the lunch was good apart from 1 dish which my colleague had ordered Lamb Rogan josh. The gravy was just a tomato soup. And the desert was not great.
Friendly staff with wonderful food at a decent price overlooking the dock. Often when you get Saag it tastes very "shop bought", this one tasted like it was homemade and you could taste the spinach!
Excellent food! Great service! Came last minute on a Sunday evening and got a table pretty quickly. Very reasonably priced for a high standard of food.
We were quite pleased with the fast and efficient service provided by the restaurant and in particular with one member of the staff. The vegetarian food of high quality and value for money as well
Our first meal in London and it was superb. Great service (Anna was amazing), flavor/spices. Were perfect. Portion size was just right Highly recommend taste of india for dessert.
A tasty meal in nice surroundings beside the docks. The staff were polite and we were not kept waiting. Would definitely go back if we are in the area.
My family and I were very disappointed with our experience. The service was very slow and the food was mediocre. We waited around forever to get food on our table and we went at a time when the restaurant wasn't too busy either. The prices were high. Will never go there again.
A very pleasant experience with great service. A party of three on a business trip to the Excel Exhibition Centre, we went for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed a well cooked meal. Possibly one of the best Indian meals for a very long time. Thoroughly recommendedo.
Like the good food and prices. The place îs really clean and people are nice. Whatch out for the sour soup as it is really spicy :D
Great food and service. Would visit again. Lots of vegetarian choice too. Starters are quite pricey but delicious and generous portions. Fab garlic nan. Quite spicy food which I love.
Most of the food was really good (particularly the spinach and lentil dahl and the chicken bhuna) but the onion uthapam I had, had a strange undertaste that reminded of bread that's gone off - that yeasty flavour when bread has gone slightly mouldy. It wasn't off as I haven't been ill and clearly all the food was freshly prepared so I thought it might be a herb I was unfamiliar with. I asked one of the waiters what the ingredients were and he was a bit taken aback and mentioned only four, none of which were unusual but I couldn't eat the outside of the uthapam because the taste was over-powering and so only ate the filling. Also, we waited ages for our meal and there was no explanation or apology for how long we had to wait. We saw at least two other tables arrive after us who got their food long before we did. Our waitresses were both lovely though and I couldn't fault them but I got the feeling that there weren't enough staff to cope with a busy Saturday night. However, overall I really enjoyed going and will be going back.
The best part of our stay in London was having food from the Manjal Restaurant.. Awesome place for tasty food.. Want to sincerely thank Mr. Mark, Chefs and the whole team for providing best service.. Thank you guys.. 😊Wish you all the best..
Polite and efficient service, lovely food and beautiful setting overlooking the river. We both went for dosas which were freshly cooked, very light and not remotely greasy. Will definitely be returning.
