We enjoyed the food and found the restaurant cosy, comfortable and friendly but presentation could be improved. We also felt that " front of house" service was possibly a little inexperienced. Having said that, we felt it was good value for money. One minor point, don't ask for a cocktail, they are not geared up for it.
Food was excellent, but as we were the only ones it was lacking in atmosphere. Very attentive service but at the same time rather too intense.
Lovely local restaurant with onl6 a few tables, making an intimate evening out. The waiter Paulo was very entertaining and added to the evening. The table d hote menu is very good value. Recommend the French onion soup
Great ambience. Food was very good and Lucien was a superb host. The four of us look forward to coming back again very soon. We think it will become a favourite go to local restaurant for us. A hidden gem in Weybridge.
Very impressed, fantastic food had French onion soup followed by Brill in a caper butter sauce. Both were excellent and the fish was cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and helpful and the ambience was first class. All in all I found Lucien's to be a gem and will definitely be returning in the near future.
First time visit was excellent experience. Sunday lunch menu was varied and everyone was delighted with their choices. Birthday dessert and complimentary Limoncellos very appreciated.
It's a wee bit like Keith Floyd cooking in your Gran's front room. Perfect food in a perfect spot ! This really is a must try..
Tiny restaurant, but a very good menu. Food is superb, not the place to go if you’re in a hurry. Nice relaxing evening with great food.
Really small and friendly neighbourhood restaurant that we have been meaning to try for a while. It’s pretty quirky inside and quite a refreshing change from all the slick chains that are around. Friendly service and fresh, simple but tasty food. Again quite a refreshing change from what can seem like fairly over complicated gastro food. Overall we had a lovely time.
Lovely delicious food. Friendly waiter. It isn't fast food though. So if you are in a hurry, this isn't the place for you. But good.
Lovely evening with great food, it's great being able to go to a local restaurant of this quality. Lucien's sauces are sublime, and his signature dishes are as good as, if not better, than many of the lauded 'star' chef restaurants. The atmosphere is great too, Jo makes everyone feel welcome.
First class in every respect All our party really enjoyed themselves Can't wait to go back Cheers DOUG FOOD & service was spot on Great evening
A hidden gem in Oatlands village / Weybridge. Food is exceptional and service is friendly and welcoming. Well recommended. French cooking at its best. Brilliant.
Lovely food, lovely staff (very friendly) a quirky place which is something a little different. Will definitely be back . A great addition to Weybridge
The service was not good, waitress very pleasant but talked too much about herself and the restaurant rather than the food. Wines were very expensive and not that amazing. Food was okay but my friends mushroom starter was not good as the mushrooms were very hard. I had hake , okay but the shape of the piece must have been frozen rather than the fresh pieces I buy from the firshmonger. So the experience was not memorable by any means. Not sure I would rush back.
Absolute neighbourhood gem, Jo and Lucien made us feel incredibly welcome and the food was superb. Would highly recommend, can't wait to go back again
Went for our 5th anniversary celebrations. Excellent food and excellent service. Would definitely go back and recommend to anyone who is thinking of going. One of our favourite ever restaurants.
Whilst the food was of a good quality, as the only waitress / host was on her own, some of it was laid down whilst she then served another table there drinks, so by the time all of food was laid down, those that came out first were cold. This happened with the starters and mains. Also, my husbands steak was gristly and for £25 you expect a lot better and there are other restaurants nearby that can offer just that. The overwhelming fragrant candles were also a little over powering to the point that we blew a couple out. We had booked to go back this weekend but have had to cancel as was so disappointed with the service and some of the food on our first visit. Perhaps if they just had one more person waiting tables it would have been different.
We had really great food at this lovely restaurant. It was just a little quiet when we went. Will be even more enjoyable with a few more tables filled- and it's certainly worth filling them!
A more traditional restaurant. Very comfortable, relaxed ambiance with plenty of character. Attentive waitress and excellent food, wine and service. We will certainly be visiting again.
Very nice food. We had the set menu and each course was well prepared. Slightly on the pricey side for the venue and location but we enjoyed the evening very much.
The starter and main course were delicious and arrived piping hot (generous portions) on hot plates. Hot plates needed for the pancakes but were given to us with candle in for my mums birthday so very kind gesture. They could do with different background music (less hectic) and my mum would have preferred softer lighting although I thought it was fine. We were expecting a French waitress which would have given a more authentic feel. However, she was lovely.
