We go to La Vacherin on semi regular basis because it is one of the better restaurants in the area and it is consistently very good food and good service. We had fixed price menu this time and were very pleased. Will go back again.
Good value for money. Good service. Food good but to exceptional. The table reserved for five was round so a perfect arrangement for five diners.
What more could one ask for than good food, good wine, good service - all of which we received when having lunch at Le Vacherin.
A handy local restaurant that has excellent food, wine and ambience - and all at a very reasonable price. The prix fixe lunch is outstanding.
It's great. Loved it. Great drinks staff and food thank the lord
Good prix fixe menu, enjoyed my meal and wine. Well looked after as usual. It was a first visit for my guest and he was impressed.
We had an excellent meal with great service. The main courses and puddings were particularly good. We will definitely be back in the New Year.
Food was excellent but the ambiance and service were a little off. Oddly we were seated originally beside the only other people in the restaurant! Weird.
Elegant restaurant well suited to a special occasion with its white linen tablecloths, French food and leisurely service. Useful option of a 500ml carafe of wine. Fig tart unusual and gorgeous. So pleased to have Le Vacherin within a 5 minute drive.
We really like Le Vacherin so much. The food is very good but our experience last week was not quite up to scratch. The service was not as attentive as we would have liked. Hopefully it was just one of those evenings.
We visited Le Vacherin on Sunday afternoon and we were delighted with our choice. Fantastic food, good service and very well priced. Would definitely recommend.
We had an excellent time - particularly liked the dining area which allowed our party to relax and enjoy themselves without being cheek by jowl with other diners.
Food was excellent, but service was patronising, very uncomfortable. We decided not to pay service charge and they tried to charge us anyway. Not good!
Wonderfully flavoured food and excellent cocktails. Very friendly and inviting place. The staff are never intrusive, but always there at hand when needed. Highly recommend if you want to take someone special (or for an elegant night out).
We went here as our choice for restaurant club and were not disappointed. Great food, wine and service. Definitely worth a visit, and a must if you are local.
Top class food - Daube de boeuf was delicious & freshly made fig tart, out of this world ! Great wine list too. Slightly mixed on service but that is sometimes the French way. Will certainly be back soon.
It was great to get seated at short notice on a Friday night, and the food and atmosphere were lovely, but the service that night was a little bit... rushed, almost offhand? It was a struggle to catch our waiter's eye to order drinks. Still one of my favourite local restaurants but they've done better.
Fantastic atmosphere, unpretentious and friendly. The cocktails are fabulous (try The Negroni with Prosecco), the food is delicious, well balanced with fantastic flavours. If you appreciate good food, Le Vacherin is totally worth it. Great for any occasion, and sure to impress most who enjoy good food.
We come all the way from Marylebone and it is very well worth the journey! The food is wonderful, the wines are not ridiculously expensive and the setting opposite the green is perfect!
Superb food - over time they have provided consistently high quality cuisine (at least a dozen visits now). Service can be a little erratic but it is worth it! With a provencal influence - the Lamb was delicious.
Last minute crisis cancellations meant our numbers halved in the day. Big apologies to the restaurant, very last minute. We were warmly and courteously welcomed without the staff turning a hair.
Lovely relaxed evening with great food The menu covers all options and the staff are efficient and friendly Ideal local West London restaurant. Will recommend to others
Delicious food, exceptional service, Wine was priced reasonably. Much much better than West End venue or some of the overpriced restaurants in Mayfair where you get treated as a credit card number .
The food was excellent and the service was very good on the whole if not slightly unfriendly from one of the male waiters. When we booked my husband mentioned that one of the party was gluten free but no gluten free options were offered including no gluten free bread. Sea bream delicious and the Hereford rump steak was cooked to perfection and really tender and tasty. All of our starters were very good - poached pears and blue cheese salad was excellent. This is about the sixth time my family, family members, have dined at Le Vacherin and I would highly recommend it.
Another great evening at our favourite local restaurant - Le Vacherin
Small but full of flavour portions. The service was painful to experience. Slow and ignorant. We were told the only window table left was reserved, but they then sat a walk-in there 2 minutes later!!
Wonderful atmosphere. Great beef. Kind attentive staff and good wine list.
For an expensive restaurant the service was aweful. And the fact w read to send back our cocktails at the end of the night sums up our experience.
This restaurant offers great food, great service and great value for money(we did the steak, frites and a glass of wine for £11.95). Very much recommend.
Always very good, delicious food and top class service, polite and attentive without being intrusive. The prix fixe menus is very good value and has a good variety of choice
Our waiter seemed flustered and incapable of delegating to the other staff, so our lunch wasn't as relaxing as it could have been. The food didn't live up to expectations.
Great experience at LeVacherin Sat eve. - a few tables occupied but filled more from 8.30pm . Interesting decor / art to admire. Attentive , pleasant but not over bearing staff. Food delicious - highlights - anchovy butter with bread , Gruyere soufflé , dauphinoise potato sides crab linguine. From a distance the cote de boeuf & cote de veau looked amazing , carved at your table for added theatre - we will opt for one of those next time to share. No room for puds but they sounded strong ! Will return ! Anna & Mark
Very pleasant setting. Ambiance good. A little slow in providing menus and offering a drink, but once they got into gear it was very good. Food looked and tasted good. Lovely evening
Lovely place, excellent food. A very easy place to get to the staff are very knowledgeable and professional. This is the fourth time I have been there and I am looking forward to the next time.
The food was excellent but slightly let down by th late appearance of one of the meals and then served without veg. , Apart from this service glitch an excellent lunch
Sunday lunch prix fixee - well cooked and reasonably priced menu with something for everyone. A lovely way to spend Sunday afternoon with the other half, or for a family lunch.
As always the food and the service were excellent and there was a great buzz about the place. My wife and I had a great evening.
As usual, food was of good quality and wine was well chosen and kept (although slightly overpriced, it seems to me). Service was as I've come to expect it there.
A wonderful eating experience. Have been going there since it opened and have never had a bad experience. I was disappionted with the game pie as it had mashed potatoes on the top , no pastry, but the meat was delicious.
Sunday lunch with friends. Service was efficient, food was as always excellent, and price (prix fixe) very reasonable. Not too crowded, and no intrusive muzak. Four thumbs up.
Excellent ambience, brilliant food and wine with perfect service. Would highly recommend. Six of us all had different dishes and all were delicious. A wonderful experience.
Food was good, I had the rump stake which was very good. The service was a let down though, we've came across a very strange waiter who sneered at us when we asked for the set menus.
The evening started with mojitos which were made with brown granulated sugar rather than sugar syrup, so a bit crunchy. The starters of scallops (2 only) and venison were tasty but very small portions. The partridge was mostly inedible and impossible to get off the bone and the ravioli (2 only) was lovely but the portion size too small. Service was a bit slow. Wine was good, but never once was my water glass refilled. The manager apologised and took the partridge off the bill but did question my wife if she'd eaten partridge before, a bit rude I thought. Shame it wasn't better and really I'm not sure about their Michelin star.
We visited with a TravelZoo Sunday dinner voucher and had a lovely evening! Perfect service, delicious food - and they were kind enough to let us order mussels from the fixed lunch menu also :) Great Travelzoo deal, would recommend. A range of wines available and good cocktail selection. Only downside was the atmosphere - a little quiet as a sunday evening
Always great. Perfect date night venue and delicious food. Highly recommend it. Always great. Perfect date night venue and delicious food. Highly recommend it. Always great. Perfect date night venue and delicious food. Highly recommend it.
A gem of a restaurant. Food is A1, the Chateaubriand steak was probably the best steak I have ever had. The crab linguine appetiser is not to be missed either. Service is very good and discrete. Wine selection very good albeit a little pricey and a good range of liqueurs. One for a special occasion. The service on the floor is second to none and very personal. Well done!
Another wonderful evening at Le Vacherin - great food, great wine and great service Highly recommended for foodies, special occasions and a romantic night out
Great food and great service for our Saturday lunch. Would recommend to all especially the celeriac veloute and the raspberry sorbet. Made to feel very welcome
Service was pretty slow and it took a while to order drinks, and then again for food. We were given 'complimentary' prosecco when our drinks came over and were then charged for it. We both ordered steak for our mains, and although cooked well it was extremely chewy and I had to leave half of it. I didn't complain, but wouldn't return.
The flagship of the three Malcolm John restaurants (the other two are Brasserie Vacherin in Sutton and Croydon). Food and atmosphere is more upmarket - and also the prices! Faultless cooking and service, only downside if that the tables are very close together - even the waiters could not pass each other walking between them. Otherwise, could have been a 6.
