Comfortable, well run bistro type restaurant. cosy ambience, good choice of wine, ( didn't try the house wine, but would recommend the Languedoc Red. Food, as ever, lovely The Beef Bourgignon is the speciality, and the Hake is delicious. Chocolate fudge cake----Oh yes! My wife had the cheesecake, had a bite, and wow.The cheesecake, not the wife!. Been to Le Mistral several times, prefer the one in Sherwood, due to locality.Atreat for a night out.
Food was excellent The atmosphere was great, the restaurant was busy which always adds to the atmos[here The staff all seemed to get on well together which is a sign of good management Our waitress was delightful Would definately recommend Le Mistral
Good was delicious. Freshly cooked with lots of choice . Disappointing smell of deep fat frying pervades the restaurant. Mussels are frozen not fresh but nevertheless delicious.
Really enjoyed the meal, its a lovely little restarant and a relaxed mood. There's lots of choice and a good wine list With something for everyone.
Always come here once a month as the food service and atmosphere are really good.. would recommend it to anyone as they have a varied menus
It's a small, welcoming restaurant with excellent food. They offer a variety of tempting meals at very reasonable prices. The Sunday lunch was delicious with plenty of vegetables and tasty gravy. Well recommended for families and couples.
Great food and service would be happy to visit it again. Small gem of a place in Sherwood would recommend 100% don't miss out get booked in
All of our food was lovely and good value with the 2 for £29 offer. The service was also good and there's a nice atmosphere
Beautiful food, great atmosphere the linguine aux fruit mer was delicious and the creme brûlée was devine would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good eating
We had a lovely meal at Le Mistral. Substantial starter so unfortunately not enough room for pudding. Would definitely go again, maybe try the mussel evening
We went to Le Mistral for Valentine's Day dinner. The restaurant was very nice, the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive.
My guests thought it was the best meal they had in a restaurant in a long while The Sunday Roast was excellent and the service first class
The service was great the place what I expected it to be , a full restaurant which is always a good sign and just can't say enough about the food absolutely fantastic.
This was our third visit and i have to say everything about Le Mistral in Sherwood is first class. The atmosphere, the friendly staff and the food are all excellent. Would definitely recomend.
Friendly welcome, efficient service and super food. Been here several times before and never disappointed. We go to France several times a year and this is nearly as good if a bit more expensive.
The food was delicious Starter was whitebait my main was hake & my friend had an omelette we were too full to try the lovely desserts. The only downside was the loos. They were dirty & obviously hadn't been cleaned that day.
Wonderful food, wonderful waiter, wonderful service:) really enjoyed the French Onion soup! Classic yet delicious! Perfect place for a romantic meal for two people. Thank you
Great evening at this cozy restaurant. Good food and attentive service. As old friends catching up we would liked it to have stayed open a little later.
Superb food, friendly & accurate service, and an authentic environment. We love Le Mistral and have been absolutely delighted with our visit on every occasion.
Great food in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly service. We went on a Tuesday which is moules night - great value-added moules, fries, bread and a beer for £11.95
Lovely informal bistro, very tasty food at reasonable prices. A great place for a chat and a catch up in a welcoming atmosphere. Wouls recommend !
Amazing food and great service, fantastic value for money...awesome Sunday roast. Plenty to choose from and the best creme brûlée ever...would definitely recommend and will be back.
Excellent food and service. Comfortable surroundings and a friendly atmosphere. With so many places to choose from in Sherwood, this is a good one at a reasonable cost.
A little gem tucked away in Sherwood. Lovely atmosphere, great food - in both choice and taste - and lovely, friendly staff. A fabulous evening! Will definitely become a regular eating place, and we fully recommend a visit.
A reliable choice of restaurant for good food , a good vibe and efficient, friendly service
Restaurant 2 and 3 course deals worked out better value then using my gourmet card, Bill cost £8 more, and we did query this but was told it was correct. Felt that the gourmet society card wasn't happerly excepted.
Excellent food and great service in a wonderful atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the moules frites alone and the chef was flexible enough to deal with one or two tweaks to the dishes
great food ( all freshly prepared and nicely presented) served in a relaxed, cosy atmosphere and all at a reasonable price. I will definitely be going there again.
Very friendly staff & good atmosphere. We ordered belly pork which was just a lump of fat :(. To be fair to the Manager, they took it off the bill with no argument, so very good customer service.
WARNING - make sure that you say you are a Gourmet card holder on booking as they are now very strict. Previously I have presented the card here ( annoying inconsistency) and other places on paying the bill but the policy has now been tightened up I was informed. Perfectly correct within the terms of the Gourmet card but pedantic and slightly mean spirited in the face of an almost empty restaurant. Food was fine as was the service but I have lost the warm feeling I had re this place.
Food was very good, reasonable choice on menu and board, service was excellent, definitely value for money, especially on a Sunday and coffee was good too
Le Mistral is a small boutique with an intimate ambience. There is a good variable menu. We had excellent food With good portion size. The wine list is humorous rather than pretentious. We will be going again.
Relaxing French style bistro with daily menu choices as well as traditional mussels, crepes steak and chips. Great place to meet and catch up with friends.
We had a table reserved for 6 people at 8:30, they only had us down on their book for 4 people, the waiter refused to believe I had booked for 6 and was incredibly rude and arrogant, he initially ignored my request to extend the table to a 6, he eventually did this but was so rude, we all decided to leave as we clearly weren't going to get a good service. All six of us walked across the road to La Capanna, who were very accommodating and friendly and found us a table for six on a busy Friday night! Will never attempt to go to le mistral sherwood again!
Always a fabulous meal with a atmosphere to match .. always go once a month
Good choice of dishes and the food was, as usual, excellent. The service was very friendly and relaxed and we all had a great time.
Friendly staff. Great food. Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend - except do want to be able to get a table next time! Good luck to the new manager!
Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great food and decent wine selection. A great place to eat if you're venturing slightly out of the city. Staff friendly too.
Awesome little restaurant with great service and cosy ambience. One of my favourite Sherwood restaurants. The food is really tasty and they always have a good selection of offers available.
The service was top notch as usual but a couple of the main courses were not up to their usual standard. Mushrooms on the steaks tasted vinagry and were stone cold.
Amazing food. Great service. But very quite that evening so it lacked atmosphere a little - did make it easier to talk though. A really diverse menu made it hard to chose as it all looked so good! Thanks
Serves a good variety of food from snacks to 3 course meals. There is a special offer of most of the menu Monday-Friday which is two courses for about £12 and 3 for about £13. The restaurant is very authentic french and the Hake is one of my favourites. Large portions (but not too large) great deserts and a good selection of wines, beers and spirits. There is also a breakfast offer of free coffee, the breakfast menu is small but nice.
Another enjoyable night at Le Mistral at Sherwood. Great atmosphere, food and friendly staff. The menu is extensive and the daily changing specials are exciting. Would highly recommend.
Great food, good to perfection. Brilliant atmosphere & friendly staff...as always!
We went for lunch to celebrate my friends birthday. All the starters and main courses were delicious, the house wine was lovely, service was excellent and a great atmosphere ... thank you!
Food good, genial service, whitebait (starter) portions very small and therefore poor value. Mussels were delicious, Hake very good indeed. This is a nice restaurant, generally reliable but I was disappointed by the small portion size of the whitebait.
Great food as always. A pregnant lady in our party didn't like the burger cooked so pink but this was rectified with no fuss really quickly.
The food was perfect and the customer services was perfect. Will definitely be going again. I would recommend everyone go. No cons what's so ever.
Four diners, three courses. Two ever tasty pâtés were accompanied by fullsome rustic bread, a combo of smooth yet tangy bruschetta and a delicious, juicy beef salad that I couldn't stop commenting on. Three roast dinners followed : one succulent roast beef; a packed mascarpone, courgette, asparagus and cheddar topped tart was more glorious, giant vol au vent than your bog standard veggie tart considered an acceptable meat free alternative in far too many eateries; and finally, a crack(l)ing wedge of tender belly pork. The trimmings were huge Yorkshires, a cushion of creamed potato, green beans and ratatouille stylie mixed veg, including fennel or celery to give a nutty flavour. Our other main was the tasty vegetarian linguine. We managed to squeeze in a refreshing tart au citron and light yet buttery cheesecakes. There's always a lovely selection of wines at excellent value, today Beaujolais complimented our assorted choices perfectly. There are few restaurants that can deliver this quality for such value. From starter to finish, every element was spot on. We enjoyed friendly and efficient service, the ever warm atmosphere and, of course, the food. As a group, we can be quite particular, but never here, for Le Mistral never fails.
We had a lovely evening here with my parents and the food was really delicious. We are looking forward to coming back soon. Thank you!
