It is a nice atmospheric place. Just lacked a bit of a spark in the food. It was well cooked and presented nicely just lacking a bit of vibrancy

The atmosphere was lovely but unfortunately let down by the service of one of the waitresses, being overcharged and we had to send one of the bowls of mussels back as they were overcooked. However! The other bowl was LOVELY!

Great atmosphere, lovely evening. Particularly enjoyed the chicken and chorizo linguine and the confit du canard, and the service was excellent. Hope to return again soon.

Staff and service was excellent. Had a slight complaint as 1 steak was fatty, but they gave us a free pudding and 10 per cent of the bill,so a very enjoyable time had by all.

A very good menu choice, with good service in a pleasant atmosphere. There was plenty of variety to suit the four of us who went for a pre-show dinner and the house white was good.

Le Mistral is a very friendly place with a lovely atmosphere and good service. The fish was slightly overcooked but apart from that everything was delicious.

Good service and great food. There were quite a few dishes that were no longer available on the night we visited, though we all found something we enjoyed anyway.

Great and cosy place with real French atmosphere. You have large selection of tasty dishes, and it's a great place to taste your first crème brûlé. I will definitely visit this place again.

The meal was very good and it was a good price, because we had the special deal of 2 mains and wine for £29. However, we did feel a little misled, as the deal portrays a bottle of wine, when in fact its a 50cl carafe. Still okay, but they shouldn't picture a bottle, when that is not what you are getting.

Been before and decided to take my partner here again for a celebratory meal. This lovely little place never fails to impress. Beautiful restaurant decorated perfectly, the service was fantastic we were looked after all night and never left wanting for anything and the food is second to none. We both had the Moules Frites which is possibly the best meal I've eaten in my entire life followed by a lemon tart for me (best I've ever had) and a tart tatin for my partner (even though he insisted he wouldn't like it it's now a firm favourite). The best part though is how shocked we are when we receive the bill, three courses for two people and a bottle of wine and we were double checking to make sure they hasn't missed anything. You won't find the same quality for a better price anyway. Safe to say we always end up making up the difference with a 12-15% tip (well warranted). Would definitely recommend to anyone and will be going back myself as soon as possible.

Lovely place and staff . 2 of our party ordered mussels which were cold and small so was changed for something else which was ok . Ordered cheese and biscuits which was cut that thin that it was transparent complained that it was that small it was rediculous . Felt that you were being charged top prices for poor quality food. As a regular visiter to other French restaurants in Nottingham I will not return here

Six of us went for a family meal and found it to be good food, good service and a lovely atmosphere. There was also plenty of choice. Despite being the last table there we were unhurried and would eat here again.

Le Mistral is set in a quiet location within the city centre. We received a very warm welcome and were impressed with the menu. The food arrived in decent time, was hot, good quality and generous portions. I would recommend this restaurant if you are entertaining business clients and want somewhere to impress, rather than a chain restaurant. Also I would recommend as a romantic location for couples. I would also like to give thanks to the waitress, who was very friendly and smiled. It always adds to the ambience of a place.

Lovely food catering for a small birthday party of 7, only slight gripe was being located on the entrance to the stairs, so lots of people coming past making use of the facilities. Staff were polite and helpful and the service was adequate.

Went for a pre theatre dinner. Staff helpful, menu good choice for each of three courses. Food delicious. We started with some of the best calamari we have ever eaten. The seafood linguine and the confit de canard were delicious and creme brûlée to finish with was superb. Will be going again!

We really enjoyed our meal, as well as the ambience and service. Thank you! It is such great value for money, although, in recent visits I have sensed a reduction in the use of fresh ingredients in sauces etc. but that is a minor gripe! Thanks for the wonderful meal.

Food didn't seem all that fresh and looked like it had been taken from a wrapper out the back of the kitchen. Service was a little slow especially waiting for the starter which was in essence mushrooms on a baguette and pate?. Unfortunately seems to have gone a little downhill
