Lovely restaurant that has an authentic feel - staff were very polite and friendly and the food was very interesting and full of flavour. For starters we tried the grilled injera with smoky aubergine paste, which was really crispy and went well with the smokiness of the aubergine. I did find it slightly oily though and only had a little (one portion provides three pieces) despite the addictive nature of the snack. We ordered a sharing platter as a main, as it was our first time trying Ethiopian food in a restaurant. This gave us a variety of dishes to try, served on a fermented pancake (injera). The idea is to break pieces of the injera with your hands and use it to wrap the different dishes in. It was a different experience and the food was well seasoned without it being too spicy. We also tried an Ethiopian beer which was light and refreshing and went well with the food. We couldn't resist trying a dessert and the fluffy balls of fried dough with a sweet sticky sauce caught our eyes on the menu immediately. They were served fresh and warm and rounded off the adventurous dinner perfectly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an all-round authentic Ethiopian experience.

We had a problem with the gluten free option. After eating a third of our injeera, they came saying that there had been a problem and that injeera was not gluten free :O They took it from us automatically and came back later with a gluten-free one. Thank goodness I'm not allergic. I have to admit that it was my third time there and the previous times we had no problem with the gluten free option, but this time, I don't know what happened.

Very nice food as usual and very nice ambience. The coffee ceremony could have been a bit more elaborated but good anyway! We will go back.

The food was delicious and reasonably priced, staff were friendly. I really liked atmosphere and ethiopian decor in the venue. Presentation of the food was also great, we really enjoyed eating off the big injera breads.

Excellent Food, lovely service. You must try the Ethiopian Wine and Tajj. I would give the 6, but there is always room for improvement. We had a group of 10 and everybody was happy with the food, their patience and service. I would highly recommend.

Exceptional food and service. The place is beautifully decorated. It was fun to eat with our fingers. We ate one of the platters for two to share, which was a selection of tasty lamb chicken and vegetable dishes served on a huge injera bread.

A beautiful restaurant with great cuisine and some of the most charming staff you could hope for - really welcoming, especially with my parents, who weren't familiar with most of the dishes and got some great recommendations! Worth visiting if you have time on your hand as it is a small team, so don't expect fast food. I've been half a dozen times now, and I've never had a bad experience!

Very interesting, enjoyable food. Enjoyed trying various dishes. Very filling. Good value for money. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Be aware, Tufnell Park tube station is closed until around March so we had to use the buses. The menu and variety of food looks great to us, but we would like to come back with teenagers and are not sure if there is something they would be happy with as they are less adventurous with food.

Went with a few friends for dinner on Saturday evening. Atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly. I enjoyed the food for my first experience of Ethiopian cuisine. Only complaint was that there was small mix up with our order (they thought we only ordered vegetarian options) they were however quick to correct this and brought us the meat dishes we had ordered.

Wonderful decor, high back carved wooden seats, it has a calm, earthy rustic vibe. The food was good, not mind blowing but certainly an experience eating with no cutlery. Must try the the Ethiopian Wine, that was outstanding! The beer is good also. The service was great, really welcoming, felt like I was in someone's home rather than a restaurant. Top Marks!

Lalibela is a wonderful place to eat. Their food is delicious, flavorful, and healthy. They are able to cater to many different dietary requirements including soy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, etc. The air is scented with frankincense from the Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony and the atmosphere is conducive to good conversation. Lovely, friendly staff and an overall warm experience. Highly recommended! But do plan to spend some time there enjoying the full experience, as everything is prepared from scratch and this takes time.

Amazing restaurant, great food and setting. The sharing plate plus a vegetarian dish was exceptional. The okra was succulent and the two types of lamb were completely different, so much flavour and texture. The injera was some of the best I've ever had. A must visit restaurant!
