Delicious Ethiopian food. Designed for sharing, you sit around a large edible plate with food on it, and eat it with your hands. Very good choice for vegetarians and meat eaters. Friendly staff - it is like stepping out of Tufnell Park into Africa.
Great food taste and good value for money, atmosphere and decor, waiter very friendly, quiet place to enjoy conversations together over a meal, been already twice!
Atmosphere and food are great. I enjoyed coffee ceremony. Only issue is not being able to pay by card as machine was not working despite staff effort to fix problems. Fact that never by cash machine was out of service didn't help but also didn't ruin great evening.
The food was good and the service was ok. We experienced a few issues -- ranging from some of the items ordered from the menu not being available to slow service, etc -- but the staff was really friendly so overall it was good.
The food was delicious, The interior is beautiful and the staff were lovely. Highly recommend and can’t wait to visit here again soon. Catered for a group of 16
Every time we need a nice place with great food and atmosphere to share with our overseas friends this is the first choice for us. As always, a great place to spend the evening!
Lalibela provides a wonderfully sensuous eating experience. There is a broad menu of Ethiopian dishes which are all delicious. Always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Authentic, tasty Ethiopian meal with pleasant service to match. Great interior/décor, and all our food choices were fantastic. Desserts are clearly something Lalibela aims to please through, but a milk and honey cake had been warmed in a microwave - this was however the only disappointing flaw to the evening, would definitely recommend for the more traditional, savoury options.
Excellent as always. In fact we call came away feeling we had a good night out. We haven't been there for a year...we live in Sutton but it's had a face lift. It still has the spirit of the old Lalibela but a freshness that is appealing. It is less cluttered than it was in the past. Food is still as good as it was, staff are attentive and not obtrusive. We come here at least once a year and we've been coming here for over 15 years.
Nice space, good service. But they didn't have some of the dishes. Over all good experience, more the atmosphere than really the food. I’ll recommend it.
The ambience is good and food is nice as well. Liked the wot dish as it’s was spicy and enjoyed the coffee ceremony. The restaurant is bit smaller as compared to the photos you see in the reviews.
The food, service and atmosphere was really good. The staff were attentive and looked after us. I will definitely return and would recommend this restaurant.
We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our daughters & we were not disappointed. Food & service were very good. It was lovely to try food from a country you haven’t tried before. We will definitely come again.
Delicious and authentic food from Ethiopia in a cosy African setting. No cutlery! Have eaten there many times and will do so again - a favourite with our family.
Excellent food in a beautiful and cozy restaurant. Gorgeous decor makes it feel like you are in a far away place and the staff are so friendly and helpful. A thoroughly fab meal - would recommend.
Good food quality. Reasonable price. Nice decor in the restaurant. Good selection of vegetarian options. Injera is an acquired taste but was not unpleasant. Would recommend
Lovely home made food. The coffee ceremony was a great experience, well worth a go. Service is a little slow but staff are friendly and very welcoming.
Lovely people and delicious food! This is my favorite ethiopian restaurant in London. Especially because they do pure teff injera! And t'ej which is honey wine/mead
Old favourite of mine. Never disappoints. Something a bit different. Veggie dishes were sublime. Fish ones not quite same standard but overall very good food and atmosphere
The best Ethiopian food I've had in London, and I've tried a few. Friendly staff, great food and fantastic value for money. I plan on becoming a regular here.. love it.
Nice environment, I liked the background music. Food - chicken + spinach was delicious. Fish has a nice flavor. Liked the dessert (very sweet) Drinks - disappointed they didnt have a honey wine when we came but good selection Good food and great value.
Very tasty, reasonably priced food with friendly, unfussy service. Nicely decorated with a warm and cosy feel - loved the carved wooden chairs and stools. The Ethiopian friend I went with was impressed too.
Food very good. Disappointed we didn't get upstairs seating as requested (due to staff shortage) and no acknowledgement of the birthday we told them about.
Best restaurant in London I have been going there for the last 15 years; I love the food and the service is so friendly. Prices reasonable too.
Nice restaurant friendly staff, tasty food. Good atmosphere with traditional decor and dishes. Really liked the plate warmer with candles and human 3-faces! Had to wait a little for food but we were large group... Recommend sharing on same plate even if you choose different dishes.
We enjoyed the restaurant. Nice food, slow service, but they did give us 1 piece of cake (& 4 spoons) by way of an apology for the speed of service!
Went to visit this restaurant yesterday for my birthday. Nice restaurant very authentic. Good staff and great food. Will deff come back again to try other dishes.
The food is fantastic, the atmosphere was perfect and staff was also super-super nice. We even got a cake, since a friend of mine had a birthday!
Excellent food and service. Lots of vegetables, everything is tasty. Very reasonably priced. Very close to tube station. We haven’t tried but their coffee ceremony is highly recommended. A must try in London. You can’t go wrong with this one.
Great food in a friendly neighbourhood restaurant. The vegetarian selection is excellent - try the sharing platter for two if you can't make up your mind which to go for.
Great place. Love the food and it smells incredible. Downstairs could use a bit more atmosphere like the upstairs. Otherwise I would have given it a 6
Great food, good service, great decor and atmosphere. Shame that the restaurant was out of ethiopian honey wine. la l l l l l l l
Still lovely food but used to be better before new ownership. Took a long time to receive food after ordering even though the restaurant was quiet. Would still visit again.
Atmosphere was great, but the food was only ok. Not blown away, have had better ethiopian at other places. Probably won't go back, better to explore other places.
GREAT FOOD, LOVELY ATMOSPHERE! returning to Lalibela very soon to spend another lovely evening enjoying delicious food. Joined by 3 vegetarian friends who also managed to make the mostwith the options available to them.
I absolutely love the food at Lalibela and the restaurant has a friendly family atmosphere. Just make sure you're not in a rush and also not starving when you arrive. It will take a good little while until your food arrives. But it's worth the wait!
This was my second time at Lalibela and both times the food has been outstanding. The restaurant has a good, friendly vibe and the service is great. Top marks
We love this place. The food is fresh and home cooked and large portion sizes. Good menu choices. The service is friendly. We will be back.
Went last night for the very first time and both me and my friend absolutely loved it!Gorgeous food, great chilled atmosphere, the waiter was polite and helped us choosing. We will definitely be back!
We got seated very quickly. Food was good and plentiful. We had a vegan sharing platter between two people which we really enjoyed. Would come again.
Good food and location with a great ambience. Sadly through the restaurant's own admission, service was slow due to there being a lack of staff.
We had a lovely evening at Lalibela - enjoyed all aspects: the decor (so lovely), the delicious food and really friendly people. WI'll definitely go again.
We had such an amazing meal - the decor of the restaurant is amazing and the staff very attentive. It was as though we were not in London at all .
Excellent service and fantastic food. Can't wait to visit again and try new dishes. Service was very attentive and the food so different to anything I'd tried before.
Food was great and the venue was really nice. Good choice of food on the menu and the personnel was very helpful. Will be back.
It was all great!! Very helpful staff and delicious food. Service was very fast and because of my birthday, they were very kind to accommodate with all cakes and guests!
Wonderful atmosphere, great selection of music, lovely staff and fantastic food. A place I like to go to with friends when I/we need a break from the busy London life.
Down - Well meaning but slow service and out of stock in some basics. Got order wrong and assured us would rectify but forgot to Up - friendly staff and helpful in offering that our order was too large (bigger eyes than stomachs!)
It's such a great restaurant - amazing decor, unique food, and the incredible coffee experience. Also very friendly service from the all-Ethiopian team and great value for money.
A warm beautifully creative environment, it felt such a treat to sit and be there and the food was out of this world, friendly, relaxed staff made for a delightfully exotic time
