Maybe be more attention in all customer not only someone.
Excellent, friendly staff and fabulous food with lots of choice - we'll be back!
Good food and good service, good idea to book. Thank you.
Good service and good food. Can’t fault anything. Sunday night and busy so best to book ahead.
Lovely intimate tapas in the heart of Edinburgh- can’t wait to go back!
Very attentive and informed staff. Pork special was delicious. Only complaint was - ordered 3 cold meats for a starter but two of the main courses arrived before the entrees and rather than let it go cold we ended up eating our mains first. Was compensated at the end.
Fantastic people, great food, lovely atmosphere. We live nearby and are so happy to have La Sal in the neighbourhood. Our 3rd visit, of many more to come.
Delicious food, great staff who were attentive and couldn’t do enough for you. Will def be back.
Superb food and the staff are great too! I thoroughly recommend it.
Loved the food and the service and the warmth !
Comida española muy bien cocinada y un magnífico servicio. Te crees estar en un bar de tapas español, pero en Edimburgo.
Lovely ambience, great tapas, great service! Clearly a high quality family operation. Iberico ham, patates Branas, octopus, mushrooms- everything was delicious! Recommended highly.
Sadly we went to Alba Flamenco expecting the restaurant to be there and were told it had moved. We met three other groups of people who’d done the same which means something is very wrong with the communications at La Sal. What a shame!
The service was the worst I have ever encountered. Staff were more interested in dealing with other tables and ignored our table. After a long wait for our order of a selection of tapas to be taken we only got 5 dishes when we ordered 7, when the staff were asked about this we were told that they serve up the last two dishes 40 after the first ones. The food was lovely though. We had to ask for the bill 4 times before anyone took action. Will not be returning there.
We've been to La Sal several times and enjoyed it, so we booked on line for last week. However, the restaurant has moved to Leith Walk and the place has been renamed El Bar. There was nothing to indicate this when we booked. The manager recognised us and kindly found us a table but we saw others being turned away. There is some new seating, reducing table space, and nearby customers were shouting. The food is still fine, but it wasn't a happy experience.
The food was good and once the order was taken the service was quick and efficient. The restaurant was very busy but I don't think the atmosphere is a good as the old place. The food is reasonably priced but the wine is expensive.
As quite a new venue there’s a few teething problems, but the staff are very friendly and quick to rectify any issues. The tapas dishes are fantastic and very reasonably priced, with a good selection of beers and wines it’s a great night out.
This is the second time I've visited. Food is wonderful
It was incredibly busy, being festival time, but the small number of staff cooed extremely professionally with the pressure of serving meals while dealing with a constant flow of people through the door looking for tables. Good food too!
Great atmosphere and delicious food served by friendly, happy staff. Very handy for the Playhouse Theatre.
We had a very enjoyable first visit. Excellent food and service.
Service was so slow, felt like were ignored because of bigger tables in the restaurant.
Great place with really nice authentic food and excellent service
The food and service was excellent would certainly go back and recommend the restaurant to friends
Great food and service- will definitely be back ! 😀
Fabulous tapas. Great staff. Paella over cooked and dry but it could have been simply because they were busy. It won’t put us off another’s visit.
Fabulous time food fantastic great service atmosphere busy and vibrant Can’t wait to go back
Portion of Parma ham was a bit meagre. Too many potatoes in main dishes. Slightly disappointed overall.
Fabulous little place ; great tapas and friendly staff. Consistently good since it opened years ago
I absolutely loved La Sal when I first visited them at their old venue but really wasn't enchanted with the new location and interior at all. Food (tapas)was quite alright overall but nothing like the paella we had last time. It's a shame I lost one of my favourite places. It's never easy to find a good Spanish restaurant outside Spain.
Really amazing food, service staff was a bit confused but they were really busy so kinda understandable. Nice wine list, short but authentic menu
We had a lovely dinner, it is not easy to find true spanish food in Edinburgh and La Sal is the perfect place for a spanish treat.
I preferred the laid back experience in Howden St, before this move to union St. That said the food was excellent the atmosphere more like a 10pm tapas bar in central Madrid
Lovely fresh food. Super service. Great wine selection. Good value too.
Our table was booked for 6pm. Despite our booking the staff weren't prepared to move the earlier diners off our table as that would be rude!! We left in disgust at 6.30pm as it was ok to be rude to us.....we were going to a show at 7.30pm and had to find a last minute table to eat elsewhere and it was a complete rush!
Great food, excellent value and staff where very helpful and knowledgable about food and wines when I had questions. Will be back for sure
As always, great food and lovely friendly staff members to make your time a lovely experience.
Good food, friendly staff, nice ambiance and a fair price.
Fairly restricted menu....food good though...service fairly slow. Reasonably priced food
Food was bland and not really tapas for sharing. The sangria was excellent!
Great food and I will be back but had to wait on the bill for at least ten minutes after asking for it.
Not impressed by the tapas, I’ve had much better in Edinburgh. Downstairs toilets not accessible.
Service was great. Food mediocre at best. Disappointing experience overall.
Great customer service, prompt attention, remembered us from a previous visit. A+
Really good. Great service. Great food. Had a good time.
Excellent service. Food was fresh and very tasty. Best tortilla I have had for a long time. Will definitely be back.
Just not good enough . Flavours and temperatures of food ! Service ! Another mediocre restaurant opens in Edinburgh !
The food and the service excellent. Lighting too bright. It needs to be more atmospheric and subtle
Great food - real taste of Spain. Good to see Tapas coming when ready and not everything together. Much better and time to enjoy each dish. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Will be back.
Amazing food, would surely visit for that. But the service was average at best. The first waitress who showed us our seats just left us there with no menus. We then walked up to the front to grab them ourselves and she didn't apologize or acknowledge the fact that we were basically serving ourselves. She was quickly replaced by a nice waiter though.
