Lovely food! I had beetroot and goats cheese ravioli which I had never had before. Really enjoyed it! Recommend! Didn't go much on the trance music though - didn't really go with the romantic environment and therefore was not conducive to the relaxed atmosphere. Had to wait a while to even be handed a menu too. However overall the positives outweighed the negatives. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Such excellent food at a fraction of West End costs and using the Tastecard made it even better value. Sangiovese is a super house wine

Very nice place, excellent service, the pizza is not the best and is not worthy the money. Probably the do better the pasta, which I haven't tried.

Had a wonderful meal here for my sons birthday, reallly quirky little place, the fron room was full so we were in the back parlour on our own, like being in someone's sitting room. Food was amazing and so fresh, will definitely be back!

It was very nice, the only thing I have found was the food to be on the scarce side; very elegant though, albeit not as much as I would have liked. The ambience and the rest, all excellent.

Incredibly delicious food and very quick and friendly service. The pizza is some of the best I've had in years and the pasta and other dishes were also amazing. The value for money is incredible and I'm already planning my next trip

Food arrived not hot enough. Potatoes missing on one plate As we were the only covers a little disappointing Other reviews were excellent so our midweek visit may have been untypical May be better on weekends

The food was fantastic, apart from the dessert which was average, but it was quite slow and the food came out at different times which wasn't good. But the food was so good that I'd definitely go back

Outstanding restaurant, food is wonderfully authentic. Cannot rate the pappardelle ragu highly enough. A terrific local gem and best kept secret in N8. Will be returning with friends!!

First of what will be many visits! This lovely little Italian is such a rare find. Beautiful "home cooking" - the pasta dishes we had were simply perfect. Now my favourite restaurant in Hornsey.

Great food, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and good value for money - we had starter, main course and three bottles of wine between five of us and it worked out at £25 each,

This is a bastion of Italian food. Unfussy and relaxed environment with the philosophy of nose to tail eating at its core. Try the langoustines or bone marrow to start if available. The madelines for dessert are also terrific.

Last week we book a table for 7 people. We herd a lot about this restaurant and we decide to check it out. Very nice welcome, friendly and warm atmosphere. We ordered 5 starters to share, couple of mains and 5 pizzas. Started and mains were delicious and handmade, pizzas were fantastic. Will go back soon

Great food and service but amazingly pretty empty for a Saturday night. I took a group of friends and had been going on for ages about the fantastic Rum Baba for desert. They didn't have any!! We had to make do with Cannolli's and Profiteroles which were fab.......not as good as the Rum Baba though!!

La Gioconda is Italian food at it's best, fresh ingredients cooked with care and passion and served with smile. If you want to try a new Italian make this the one, you will not regret it. Love this place.

This tiny gem hidden away at the end of Hornsey High Street is an absolute delight. The decor is a little down at heel but we like that because the most important thing is the food. We adore Italy and this place is the closest we have ever got to a genuine taste of Italy. I had delicious home made ravioli with ricotta and spinach and a rocket and parmesan salad. To compliment the meal the owner recommended an excellent red wine which for £20 was excellent. The service was great too and I managed to practice my shaky Italian without causing too much hilarity. Altogether a lovely experience and we have recommended it to everyone we know.

Gliel'abbiamo chiesto in inglese eh ! mica in italiano ). Se apportaste queste modifiche il voto salirebbe molto !

Quirky, friendly, great food reasonably priced. If you like your restaurants with more style than substance, this isn't the place for you. If you're up for a bit of an adventure, check it out. La Gioconda is a gem in the making.

Lovely little restaurant tucked away in the heart of Hornsey. Really good food, I had the sea bass which was cooked to perfection and my friend was very happy being a celiac that she had a gluten free choice of both pasta and pizza. Overall fantastic value for money.

Nice local Italian restaurant, a good change from the formulaic chains. Good value, great food if slightly slow and quirky service but well worth it.

Decided to go here due to it's Timeout award. We were sat without menus at the back of the restaurant and were one of 4 tables. It took nearly 10 minutes for us to get somebody's attention to bring us menus. 5 minutes later we ordered a beer and a glass of wine but weren't asked for our food orders. The beer arrived promptly but no sign of the wine. After another 15 minutes of trying to get someone's attention and no wine we decided to give up and go to tesco. There was also horrendous club-like techno music blasting out. Very disappointed as we were so looking forward to a lovely meal :( First time I've ever walked out of a restaurant.

La Gioconda is an absolute gem! The food is incredible with large portion sizes and beautiful flavours which absolutely mimic traditional Italian cooking. The pizzas are the highlight - using good quality ingredients and as the Italians do, are not overloaded with toppings. Service is attentive and friendly - an added bonus!
