La Barbe

One of the best restaurants in Reigate with a great choice of menu which changes with the season.

This was our first visit to La Barbe for my husband's birthday and we weren't disappointed. Great service, lovely atmosphere and absolutely fantastic food! My husband was 'over the moon' with his Provencal beef stew, describing it as the best main course he'd had in ages. Will certainly be visiting again, particularly as my husband noticed the special menu for Father's Day!

Just like going to a good restaurant in France. This was our first visit, we went midweek and it was fully booked, I can see why. The staff were very welcoming, service was friendly and efficient throughout. The room is split into smaller areas with screens, Japanese style, so you feel quite private. The menu has plenty of choice and is informative with wine recommendations for every course. The food was excellent, portions were generous and everything was beautifully presented. I can't fault anything, we'll definitely be going back.

Lovely friendly family atmosphere! All the staff were delightful. Food was truly excellent and good value for money. The wine is a bit pricey though. We felt very welcome and really look forward to going back soon.

Food was delicious, as always and the staff very helpful and friendly. We will return soon. It is justifiably one of our favourite restaurants. With Priory car park literally just across the street, parking is never a problem either.

As always superb food and superb service. Was asked my opinion about a new desert they served , as the staff weren't happy about the texture. I agreed with them and they changed it for the better. Pleased to be of any service.

Simply the best service and food in Reigate. Very well priced,quility and presentation superb. The food tastes fantasic. The maître d is welcoming and remembers you. We love the French waiter there I don't know his name but I find him so funny. Don't pass this place up once you try it you'll always go back!!

We visited this genuinely French restaurant for lunch. It was not very busy. There was an excellent lunchtime menu plus extra dishes of the day. The service was good if a little slow as I suspect that our chosen items were cooked fresh. There was a two course or three course option for a fixed price. Wine was averagely priced and good.The atmosphere was pleasant and unhurried. I suspect that the main business is in the evenings and at the weekends. We have visited for lunch on a Saturday in the past. The meal then was very enjoyable and the place much busier. I would recommend La Barbe as a good place for a treat

Excellent service and food. The only downsides are that the seating felt cramped for four of us and it was extremely cold every time the door to the restaurant opened.

Great service and nice ambiance despite us not having the best table (we booked late on the same day so I suppose we were lucky to get a table at all so can't complain too much!). Food was good but not as refined as it could've been for the prices charged (Vension was slightly overcooked for my taste despite asking for medium rare). However, I would happily recommend La Barbe. It's as good as Toby Tobin's (just down the road on Reigate High Street) if not marginally better due to the slightly more romantic setting and what we felt was a fairly authentic French decor. Overall I would say La Barbe is the best choice in the area. I'm sure we'll be back.

Excellent food, as always. Very friendly welcome. Perfect way to celebrate giving up work and get into the mood for Christmas. Our favourite restaurant anywhere.

We went to La Barbe for a celebratory meal after we converted our civil partnership to a marriage with another couple. The food was excellent and the staff very attentive. It made a great ending to our special day.

Great food but especially service and intimacy of restaurant. Our favourite place. We came here first 10 years ago and there are still many staff remaining from that time who always remember us.

First time back there since the 80's! Just as good as it always was. Great food, with attention to detail, Efficient and friendly staff and well presented decor. Overall still a great experience, we will definitely be back again!

Service was friendly and very efficient. Food was first class and good size portions, not tiny as in some 'good' restaurants. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely food but lunch service was very slow. Not given menus so had to request them after 10 minutes, 20 minutes for bill to arrive.
