Jackson and Rye - City

Jackson and Rye is over the road from where I work as a result we go here a lot. At times, mainly busy lunch times, the waiting time can be quite long for our food &w e have often gone over our 1 hour lunch break.

Food and drink were great! This restaurant is very close to my office so is very handy to have breakfast meetings meeting's. I will be coming again.

Enjoyable visit yet again. Good wine and beers, tasty food and some of tried the after dinner cocktails very yummy. Thank you for a very nice lunch.

Had my birthday drinks here. We were given our own area upstairs and had our own waitress. Food tasted great. They couldn't have been more accommodating.

I have visited this restaurant a couple of times before and as always found the food and service very good. I was having a business lunch so time was of the essence, and service was quick and attentive. thank you

First time at Jackson & Rye City, meeting up with some old absent friends. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was amazing, and the service was spot on too.

All of us enjoyed our breakfasts. Very tasty and well presented. Service was friendly and helpful. Overall experience was very pleasant. Would definitely go again.

The food was very good, as was the service, but the place was empty so lacked a bit of buzz. Will try again maybe when the weather gets warmer.

The salt and pepper squid is amazing!! Definitely try it!

Service was somewhat erratic with 1 main course forgotten and 1 incorrect desert brought. However they were apologetic about the main course and took it off the bill. And when we accidentally left a bag behind they kindly came running down the road to return it so no complaints! Would visit agan.

We had a very enjoyable evening. Great food and wine, also excellent service from the waiters. We will be going back and recommending to friends.

Attentive staff, good portions at breakfast. Nice atmosphere and surroundings. Would definitely recommend if you find yourself free before a meetings by in the city

Good food - menu is varied and everything we ordered was lovely. Desserts in particular were great. Nice open restaurant, very airy. Good atmosphere. Lovely staff. Very relaxed afternoon spend here.

Nice restaurant, very central, great breakfasts and cocktails. The A La Carte menu is good, however could do with some more vegetarian options (getting board with mushroom risotto everywhere I go).

Excellent breakfast presented perfectly every time, great service with smiles and accommodating to everyone in our party (Even though half were running very late) . Many Thanks!

Staff were very attentive and friendly at Jackson+Rye. It's a loud environment, and some of the 'local suits' get a bit rowdy with a few drinks in them, but if you can find a quiet place off to the side then it can be a great experience complemented by friendly staff. Cocktails are also excellent, so I'd recommend opting for a range of small plates and appetisers to 'graze' your way through a few of those ... Be sure to try the Old-Fashioned, if you're a fan of those - it's excellent.

Really enjoyed the overall experience. Food was lovely and served quickly. Waiter also ensured we were happy throughout our stay. Will definitely eat here again.

Decent food, friendly and efficient staff. generally a good experience, particlularly if time is an issue. Unlike many City restaurants, not too noisy, so you can have a decent conversation.

The food was good although presentation a bit sloppy. Banana split very good!! An early business dinner at 6pm but still busy and would recommend.

Wonderful, relaxed and Unrushed service. Dining set up is perfect for early morning meetings and the menu really compliments most dietary requirements. So easy to recommend this venue

First time at J&R. Early breakfast meeting. Good service, great food. Easy to have business conversation as there was not much noise but equally we could not be overheard by other tables. Will definitely use again.

Always welcoming - food of a reasonable quality - staff friendly and attentive but not overly so - also never feels like the "rip-off" represented by many other restaurants in this area

Food good as usual, but abundance of fruit flies around table and slow to take payment after meal even though restaurant not busy at all

We were a party of 20 the week before Christmas so the restaurant was very busy and the staff stretched but working hard. We had some late comers and the staff kindly held back our meals as long as they could which was appreciated. The food was very good, good value for money. The service was pretty slow (one of our party had to leave after 2 hours and had not had a main course served) however everybody was clearly run off their feet. Overall a good experience but I wouldn't necessarily go again that close to Xmas.

The restaurant was full and the service team struggled - it took 30 minutes for them to take our order. The starters were fine but then every single main course order was wrong and had to be sent back to the kitchen atleast twice. I didn't eat my main course as it was cold. We ended up having half our bill deducted.

Slow to take our order. Quick to give us a bill before we'd asked because they wanted to table back. Food was very good though they never brought the hot sauce as promised.... overall ok but the Soho branch is preferable, much fun and relaxed.

Usually excellent, but felt very rushed and food was clearly all pre-prepared and left out. Obviously they have decided to prioritise footfall over their usual high standards over Christmas, although prices remain as before... Service very good, let down by the kitchen.

Lovely atmosphere. Had the chicken burger, very good and lovely house red wine. Good service. Only minor criticism - coffee wasn't the best. Definitely recommend.

Food (which was good) arrived quickly but had to wait a while to order a drink. Felt like we were being rushed out of the place. We were initially seated on a terrible table by a pillar but I was able to get us moved thankfully.

Nice setting and atmosphere. Food was good however the service was a little slow but allowance should be made due to the time of year.

Chowder starter was cold then it was just warm once I’d waited 10 mins. The ribeye steak was tough. Every mouthful was a chore. I’ve had leather shoes more tender !!

Food came out before water or wine?? Food was nice but that's it, also got charged for water that didn't arrive too so had to wait for 5 minutes for a new bill, food was ok though, would say Goodmans burger is better and you get bread for free and better service

Food was great - the mains, the sides, the starters and the dessert. Very good location and the service was on point. Would definitely go back!

Good atmosphere, nice food (reasonably priced) and a good selection of wine. The reason I didn't score full marks was that we had a drink at the bar on arrival and the service was appalling - slow response, we had to repeat one order to 2 different people, then it was topped off by the waiter spilling the drink on one of my guests and then not making much effort to apologise or mop it up. However, after this the dining experience was very good.

The Starter was the worst I have ever ever tasted. It was like spam...... The chef should be sacked immediately. It was rubbish. Never never never will I go back to this restaurant again......

Lovely restaurant in the heart of the City with a good selection of food options. Only negative was the size of the cocktails, one of which was barely half full.

Great bar, good and varied menus and wine at decent prices, excellent and helpful staff with unpressured service and really nice relaxing atmosphere and spacious tables.

The welcome given and service experienced were excellent. The environment was just as expected and without being cramped, plus the food and drink were good value.

Service was slow - 30 minutes for two cocktails. We ordered 3 of the same cocktails in that evening (amongst others) and some of the glasses were half filled. I ordered the risotto which was luke warm, undercooked and tasteless. Pretty disappointing all round.

Lovely high ceilings, good range of tasty food, friendly service, conveniently located in the City of London, a good destination for either lunch or drinks

Duck salad was okay but a bit underwhelming given the price (just lettuce and some duck - no tomatoes or any other veg). Most of the duck was sliced but there were some random dry shredded bits too

we went there with brokers for our Christmas lunch, we go there often as it is very nice, good food and always very friendly staff.

This was my second visit. We had lovely food, and service throughout. The venue is cozy, and the overall experience on both occasions has been great, and I'll sure go again.

It is the busy time of year (Christmas season) but there was still good service and it was a comfortable dinning. Would use the restaurant again.
