Food was served quickly which was good for a Friday as I was on my lunch break, food was really nice, waiters were delight ful

Steak was great - so was the service. Very attentive without feeling rushed or pressured. Drink selection very good especially the whiskey menu (obviously). The negative was the size of the drinks. Either get the right glass for the size of the cocktail you are serving or fill the glass up. Hate the feeling that I've been short changed - especially considering the price. Also my measure of after dinner whiskey seemed somewhat light.

Good food, good service. Nice décor and atmosphere. Portion sizes could be larger - had to ask for the menu back so that we could order some more sides.

Good location and nicely set out. Wait staff were very friendly without being overly pushy which was nice, water topped up without having to ask. Food was alright. The salt pepper squid was a little too deep fried as was the popcorn chicken. Peppered steak was quite nice. Drinks a little steep but not too bad for the city. Overall happy to go again

Service was fantastic. We were greeted with smiles from the moment we walked in. Our table gave us a little bit of privacy, which is what we wanted. Our waiter was attentive, but did not pester. He showed great knowledge of the items available and suggested some dishes according to our preferences. It was a lovely atmosphere for an American grill. The tasteful furnishings, well stocked bar, and fancy layout made it a far call from your regular diner. I was worried that the portions would also be fine-dining, but to my pleasure and surprise, I was stuffed when I finished my main. Recommended dishes: Buffalo chicken wings, 400g rib eye steak (medium) with garlic butter sauce. Their cocktails are also amazingly made! They have a good variety of drinks; from fruity to sharp. They can even make something similar to your favourite drink if it's not on the menu - if you know what the ingredients are, of course. The only criticism I can give is that the beef rib I had, although has beautiful flavour, had a lot of fat. Too much for my liking. Apart from that, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The menu is full of choice and the staff are top notch. Thank you to the Jackson & Rye City team for making my visit a great one.

The staff disappeared after we were seated and we got our own drinks from the bar. My husbands food was missing half the ingredients, they didn't offer to take my food to be heated while we waited so mine went cold so that we could eat together. My first time at the restaurant and I wouldn't recommend it to my work colleagues.

Great service though they forgot to add tomatoes to my salad even though this was my initial request. This was promptly rectified. Polite staff and quick food delivery.

Very warm welcome received at the door. My guests were late, but was offered refreshments while I waited at my table. As ever quick and efficient service, whilst maintaining discretion. My party all enjoyed their drinks and food. I highly recommend this place, although, because of the high ceilings, it can get noisy.

The food was some of the best I had tasted and the staff could not have been more polite and helpful. They even made me a cocktail of the menu with no fuss.

Good selection of nice dishes which are well executed. Service is excellent from the host to the waiting staff - attentive but not intrusive. Lovely setting with a comfortable amount of space between tables. The steak and the buttermilk chicken come highly recommended!

Excellent staff, very friendly and accommodating. Food was ok, a bit different - swordfish great but chicken dish average (a little greasy). the downside for me was that the white wine was not cold enough - a pet hate of mine. I shall return but hope they have listened to my comment re the wine. nice buzzy atmosphere.

Great atmosphere and surround - less crowded, cramped and noisy than the Soho reataurant. Great American fare menu, something for everyone. And wide ranging drinks menu.

The food was good (had the burger and grilled chicken dishes as mains). There was a problem with the chicken dish but they replaced it fairly quickly. Had the prawns and chorizo for starters and that was really tasty. The service needs work though...a little over bearing (rather than attentive). Being rushed for our orders, chased several times (for each course), when actually we wanted to relax and enjoy a long evening catching up. It was not even very busy in the restaurant. It felt like they wanted us out as soon as possible!

Food was good service was terrible! I was with a client and shared a starter of chicken wings then both had a burger. The burgers came 40mins after the starters and when I questioned the waiter Johno on the matter he said it was a normal waiting time. Not wanting to make an issue of the situation as I was with a client, the way he brushed off the matter and neglected to apologies I thought was really out of order, when a simple apology as you where busy would have sufficed. I was at the table at 12.30pm there where several tables around us that where served a lot quicker than us, it seemed to be a one off and have been to the restaurant several times before where this wasnt an issue, perhaps just the waiter on the day....

This was my first time at the restaurant. Both my daughter and I really enjoyed it. The Waiter was such a joy, nothing was to much trouble for him, he had a great manner and was very pleasant. The food was good, we really enjoyed the salt and pepper squid and the chicken wings. I was a little disappointed with the fish as I though it was a bit dry. Overall though we had a lovely time and will definitely go back.

How lovely to find a restaurant in the City that actually understands the concept of a 1 hour lunch. The service was very good, the food was delicious and overall atmosphere was perfect. I will definitely be returning. It was a refreshing experience, after so many poor work lunches in the past.

Most amazing cocktails!! We literally go every month just for the cocktails. Loved the avacado salad the first time I was there. Not sure if they changed the chef or anything but not as good anymore otherwise, top marks!

They've got a great menu and the food is delicious. Today I ordered a shrimp burger that had lots of coriander in it. They had done nothing wrong but I wasn't aware of the coriander, which I am not a fan of, so I asked if I could get something else. They were so nice about it and got me a quinoa burger instead (sooo tasty). That is great service!

This is a new restaurant, and very pleasant, the service was friendly and attentive. The food is predominantly BBQ, and was good quality. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning.

Food is very good. Service is very efficient and friendly also. Only downside is that some of the tables are quite close together upstairs and if the table next to you is occupied it can be a little loud. Otherwise great!!

First time I've been to J&R's City branch and I was most pleased. Very buzzy atmosphere and the staff we're ever so helpful. Didn't feel rushed and the food was ever so tasty.

Great food, great wine, great atmosphere! Service was a little slow for a lunch hour (but to be fair only because we had to get back to the office within a certain time) but the staff were friendly and courteous. Will definitely be back

3 of us went for a team breakfast for Christmas. The pancakes were delicious, the service was great and the restaurant was very nicely decorated for the holidays, giving a very good atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

We were a large table with people arriving at different times, ordering a multitude of items and different times - all over a Friday lunchtime. Service was good and staff were friendly. No complaints at all.

We had great food with very generous portion sizes. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. Would recommend getting a booth if possible. Good value for money as wel.
