Good food, prompt service in a nice setting. As there was 8 of us who hadn’t met for a while we sat for longer chatting than normal but there was no problem and no push to clear the table and put us out.
Good food, pleasant service and food served piping hot! Great location.
We had a lovely lunch and we didn’t wait long
I took my son and daughter in law out for their Birthday treat along with my wife. As usual the staff were very attentive, the food was excellent and the ambiance were perfect for the occasion.
Super food, great service as always. Never had a bad meal from here.
The staff were great and the food was lovely. Excellent location.
I go to Herges often and have never been disappointed!
Lovely meal, good choice. Helpful staff. Herges is so nice to sit and socialise with the view of the loch and the swans swimming by
As always fantastic food and great service in a friendly atmosphere. It’s child friendly if that applies. Can’t fault it and would recommend to anyone.
Great food. Service perhaps could afford to slow down just a little to allow diners to settle in and make their choices from what is a very tempting menu that requires more than a cursory couple of minutes light glance. Perfectly cooked and served food: lamb nicely rare inside, tartlet to accompany it surprising with excellent shortness of pastry and light spice. My friend's burger was eaten quietly which assumed all was well!
Wonderful location. Great service and a varied menu. Helpful staff when asking for recommendations for food choice. Great ambience and the best food we had had in some time. Completely blown away by pickled watermelon. It’s now on my list of food I love.
Great food, good menu , lovely view , relaxed atmosphere . staff friendly . clean . Wine list is very good and not overly priced
As ever friendly, good food, not pretentious. If you get a lochside view all the better. Always feel relaxed at Herges and restaurant always spotless. We go by train to Tweedbank and it's a ten minute walk so if you want to leave car at home this may suit you. G&E
Good food, friendly staff, good service and good value. Only criticism is beer selection. Would be good to see local beer on sale. Will be back
Fantastic experience from start to finish. Lots of parking, our hosts were professional and on the ball, marvelous setting, relaxed atmosphere, great food and service. Definitely recommend.
The food and location/environment were very nice but the waiting staff were a bit blunt. My meal was of a good size and quality and the view was delightful. It would have been nice if there was a better variety in the desserts which were very dairy focused.
Lovely feel to the place. Great selection of food and it is consistently well cooked and presented. The staff are friendly and I would recommend Herges
We had a lovely lunch The portions were large and the food was was tasty. The staff were very attentive and the location ideal for the train station
A delicious meal for four in lovely surroundings with a wonderful view of the loch. Attentive staff and good prices make for a pleasant experience.
Excellent service, lovely bright, modern restaurant with a warm homely feel, fabulous food and a great menu, well worth a visit and will most definitely return again.
Location superb, with Koch side view from table. The waiting staff were lovely. However the food was disappointing - soggy batter on the fish, and lentil dish uninspiring.
Staff are excellent and food good. All at a reasonable price. Nice calm atmosphere too. Only down side is that they don't stock local beers.
Great food and location. Good portion sizes and value for money.
We had a beautiful lunch, great service and delicious food. The vegetarian option and the desserts were particularly good. Being dog friendly was a big bonus!
Once again a really lovely meal. The setting of Herges helps make it but not as much as the quality of the food and staff. I really enjoyed the duckling which was cooked to perfection. Fully recommend Herges and I will return.
A first class restaurant with a mouth-watering, locally sourced menu but also has the most awesome, dedicated gluten-free menu available – without question, the best I've ever seen. The food was delicious, it was reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A jewel in The Borders.
Food was absolutely beautiful, staff really friendly and happy to help.
Herges is a lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting overlooking the Tweedbank loch. The food is good with a reasonable selection. They cater for allergy sufferers.
The steak and ale pie was quite disappointing. There was barely any meat and unfortunately more veg in a watery gravy. The restaurant is nice and my mum’s meal was lovely so it was a shame mine wasn’t
This the sencond time being there and the location, service, staff are second to none and food is the best around for quality and quantity. C.Ostrom
Lovely setting firstly and quality prepared food in modern surroundings. Staff efficient and friendly and very good starters and main courses. Didn’t have dessert but from what I could see being served I don’t think you need one of your own, perhaps share!
Once again a fabulous meal, Herges has never disappointed. The menu is well thought out with quality local produce. The food itself was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was great and the location with the view over Gunknowe Loch really sets it off.
Wonderful setting with view over the lake. The food was really good. Price very reasonable. A lovely experience and one to which we will return.
