Everyone really enjoyed our visit and our food. Good to see a cask beer on at a Desi pub.

Great food & drink at reasonable prices, Unfortunately they kick you out too early so we had to rush our drinks in the bar as they were closing around 11

Food eaten : (2 people dining) 1 X plain naan, 1 X large mixed grill 1 X masala fries 1 X Guinness 1 X Mojito Price £34 It was our first time in a desi pub. Traditional pub setting but very well kept establishment. Mixed grill was supposed to do 2-3 people. Retrospectively as I'm extremely greedy I reckon I could have eaten it myself with naan bread and fries as I was still hungry at the end after sharing it with my better half. Food was simple but nicely spiced. The food was all quite moist apart from the lamb chop that was a little cremated. Drinks were good value. I liked the environment you eat in, simple cushioned stools, traditional pub furniture. Toilet was probably the cleanest and nicest I have ever used in a pub! Would definitely come again but I' d order more food!

What a great night we had at the Hen and Chickens, the food was delicious and the portions were very generous. The staff were friendly and helpful and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We will be going there again.

Atmosphere great. Food great and loads of it. No 'chef's recommendations' just great basic tasty curries. Another plus is that it is five minute walk from the metro which was very handy to get to Grand Central.

Nice food but a bit pricey, if you could consider dropping prices.

The mixed grill... the mixed grill. It's a thing of wonder. Just watch what you order for a main course as you may not have room! The food was as great as ever and we will continue to return on a regular basis

It was a excellent dining experience 3 things I rate whenever i eat out.. 1 is the service good & more importantly is the restaurant & toilets clean & is the food well presented & enjoyable? I m happy to say the hen and chickens came up trumps with both! So would not hesitate to dine here again.

Fantastic food, busy and fun. But one significant issue that other diners should be aware of so they don't suffer the same fate we do - the kitchen closes at 9.30pm - there was nothing visible in the restaurant to warn of this - we ordered our starters and enjoyed them at leisure. However when I returned to order our main courses, we were declined at it was too late (it was 9.31!). We would have loved to have eaten more but sadly could not. To me, it's an odd setup and the owners and staff should be abundantly clear on this.

The hen & chickens is a great place for relaxed eating, with great tasting Indian food ( lots of it too ) . Friendly atmosphere and good selection of drinks to suit everyone.
