So good to be back at the best desi in Brum

The service and food is always second to none! It is by far the most well organised place to visit for safety and enjoyment after Covid.

It's just the Best. Lamb Bhuna and Tarka Dhall with Ban Bread and a couple of pints of Cobra.

Very nice food, very friendly staff. They seemed to have forgotten about us but when they did bring the food out it was amazing. Can’t fault them as it was incredibly busy which is what you would expect from a great restaurant. No complaints from us.

Great food as always. Fantastic service and good atmosphere. Even managed to find something on the tv despite no sport being on.

Fantastic pub and restaurant. This has to be the best Desi Indian food I have tasted. We all loved the mixed grill and separate curries. So full of flavour and tasty. Friendly fast service and great beer. Looking forward to coming back for more! 😀

Group of 6, fantastic food, a range of different dishes, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this little gem.

Second night in a row visiting the Hen and again brilliant food on offer. Mixed it up with the chilli chicken, lamb madras and some masala fries, along with usual pilau rice and chapatis. Definitely my go-to place for food in Birmingham!

Another visit to the H&C, this time took along a colleague. Delicious lamb bhuna for me and he was that taken with his chicken biryani (and a couple of good pints) that he wanted to go back for more the next night!

Excellent food. Probably one of the best curries I’ve ever had

This is our 2nd visit to the Hen & Chickens and this place is absolutely fantastic. We were a party of 4, everyone enjoyed the meal, it was excellent value for money and the atmosphere was cool. Also, great location in the Jewellery Quarter. Will be back again.

Sadly our table was very small, and we struggled to get all dishes on it. Our friend was running late (we had a late booking at 8.15) and were told kitchen stopped at around 9.00-9.15. We had barely finished eating and were asked to move into the other room, we had just bought another round of drinks and then were asked to finish them off. So although the food was nice, it was sadly over showered by our very very rushed experience, which was a shame as you had been recommended to us.

Three of us ate after watching a disappointing game at the Hawthorns,this picked us up. Table ready before our booked time meant we could sit down and enjoy a couple of pints of well kept Tribute.Lovely fresh ,light and crispy popadom followed by chicken madras ,pilau rice & garlic naan .All superb.See you soon.

Nice decor/surroundings. We reserved an early table at 3.45pm and there were quite a few people there already and it got busier. Staff friendly and efficient. Shared some starters of popadoms, shish kebabs and chicken wings. Quite tasty and just enough heat to tickle the tastebuds. I had chicken tikka masala and my boyfriend had fish curry curry and we shared a plain rice and chips. Mains were ok but we both could of done with a little more spice. I had two alcoholic drinks and my boyfriend had two pints ok coke. Bill came to roughly £50. A few people around us ordered thr mix grills which looked pretty good. Would return to Hen and Chickens!

Can’t recommend highly enough. Food was delicious, value for money with excellent service.

Food as usual is unbeatable. Truly second to none. Only gripe would be the table spacing. So close together your knocking elbows with people sat at next table. The quality of the more than makes up for this though.

Terrific tasty madras for me but looked obviously around at what everyone else in the room was ordering! Mixed grill looked sensational, but pretty big for one!
