Another great lunch...beautiful Indian fine dining....looking forward to going back

Sadly the food did not live up to expectations! What we received was worse that you will get st a cafe! The service however was good.

The venison was disastrously over cooked, and would strongly recommend not ordering it, because everything else was lovely. The waiting staff were very attentive and overall a good meal.

Wonderful food and ambience. Great friendly service. We were delighted with the choices in the menu as they were different and interesting. We will definitely revisit this restaurant.

The tasting menu was amazing and the presentation was great, but unfortunately the service felt rushed and when we first arrived we weren't even acknowledged.

We have had a lovely and quick service. Good food. Nice and calm atmosphere. I would definitely recommend the restaurant for a calm night out.

It was ok but having been to Benares a few times we hoped for more. All a bit average. There are much better places locally

Lovely food. This is the second time I've lunched here (and am going again on the 14th of June). But on both occasions I noted it was far from busy - only one other table occupied. I do think they need to advertise more,

We had the tasting menu and the food was excellent. The serving star seemed undertrained, we kept being asked the same question by different members of staff, however, did not distract from the enjoyment of the evening. A bit expensive but good value. This was our 4th time at this restaurant

Screaming children in a restaurant at 20.30. Had to get a taxi to the wine bucket, and the choice of food was limited and disappointing. For the same money go to The Nags Head or Gilbeys. Really disappointed.

The Hawkyns Tasting menu with wine flight gives you a great journey of flavour. The take on the classic fish and chips a particular highlight.

The food and drink was delicious. Service was pleasant. Two things could be changed to improve the experience: more comfortable chairs and less cheesy music!

Lovely food - beautifully presented - and will definitely go again - but I think the staff are a bit of a let-down. Not exactly over-efficient - or particularly cheerful. Think that needs to be addressed.

The menu was simple but interesting .... however the service was very slow with drinks and little touches like an empty salt grinder made it feel not quite so special.

Food a little over priced if you buy for. The main menu. Veggie food good, but pheasant not so, too pink. Good ambiance. A little cheeky to add on 15% service charge, which we tweaked. Friendly staff, but no great shakes for a 15% in the UK.

Food was interesting with an Asian focus and tasty but too much salt. Was expecting more from the food. Service very good and ambiance ok. Not in the same class as the Artichoke Restaurant.

A wonderful meal . Fantastic service. Very interesting to see how the manager dealt with a client with obvious eating issues. Such patience and care nothing was to much trouble. Checking everything was ok for them. Stunning service

Nice atmosphere good service good food but small portions would like more choice on the menu but glad we went but wouldn’t rush back very expensive

We enjoyed our weekday lunch and it was good value for money. I am happy that the menu now has more Indian flavour than it did previously.

ordered fish and chips , as a main course and tomato salad to start, both courses were so over spiced , I couldn't eat them

Lovely Food. Very innovative and tasty. The choices were very good great wine list. But the printing on it is just to small. Not much finesse in the waiting staff
