The Greedy Cow at Mile End is a little gem of a restaurant, just tucked round the corner from the station. A warm welcome awaits, and some of the tastiest food is ready to be enjoyed. Their burgers are legendary and the spicy chicken wings are a must try, but don't overlook the steaks too! This is a place we will keep coming back to!
Food was great and the atmosphere was relaxed. Throughly enjoyed the evening and will definitely return soon. Camel burger was delicious as too were the cocktails.
The staff, atmosphere and food were all lovely. The cocktails were also great. I had a really good night, and will definitely return to try something else on the menu
Grate food and really good service. Everyone should try it out!! Stakes are amazing and delicious! Good location next to Mile End tube. Get out and try!!!
Very good service by the staff throughout the whole time we were there. Very reasonably priced Good, particularly as the quality was very good. Would definitely go back
Food was good but not it's usual quality. It was super busy and therefore the service was also slow which isn't the norm at this place
Amazing food! Best meat ever!! Recommend everyone to try ❤️❤️❤️👌👌👌 great service! Good location just next to tube! Go there and try it! You won't regret
Staff were very pleasant and food was delicious. Great range of burgers, I am glad I tried the camel burger. I will definitely go to this restaurant again.
We were greeted by a friendly waitress on arrival and seated immediately. The overall level of service was great, very attentive. Most importantly the food tasted great, I had the italian burger, cooked medium and it was perfection.
A small restaurant with a big taste menu and attentive staff Don't be fooled into thinking it's just burgers and steaks a good choice menu and great cocktails
I love this place, it was our first visit this evening. Great menu, awesome food, friendly staff! We will most defiantly be back very soon.
Wonderful, perfect food, fabulous atmosphere. The Greedy Cow is always amazing and didn't fail us again last night. Wine was great too :-) A 1
Restaurant was very busy on friday night so well worth making a reservation. The burgers we had were delicious (Mexican and Portuguese), and the sweet potato fries are out of this world. Great atmosphere, great service, will definitely be going back for more!
Had dinner here on a Thursday night - was glad we'd booked as it was pleasantly busy. Awesome burgers, friendly staff and a really nice vibe - this is an ace small restaurant at Mile End. Will certainly be back!
I have been here plenty of times and loved it each time but on this occasion the expierence has put me off returning. I booked a table for 1400 on a Sunday for myself,my pregnant wife and son.As soon as we walked in the problems began. After we informed the gentleman we had a reservation he said "Follow me"....and didn't move, just stood there!!.He then pointed at a table across the room. When we went over we sat down on freezing cold hard chairs and asked to be moved upstairs as there was no seats available around us.The staff seemed very reluctant to do this coming out with excuses such as,we would have to wait 15 mins to put the heating on.It was 2 o'clock on a Sunday, surely the heating should have been on by now. After informing them that will be fine as my pregnant wife needed a comfortable chair they acted annoyed and finally moved us to the table behind that had become available and had a more comfortable bench for the wife and kid but still a cold, hard wooden one for me. When we sat down I kept my jacket on as I was freezing though my wife and son took their's off. However, after just a few minutes they put them back on in full view of the staff, but nothing was done or mentioned to us.As it was a terrible day outside the front door kept blowing open and the staff did nothing. If I wanted that expierence I would have bought a sandwich and sat in the park across the road for a fraction of the price. Before this however the waiter was over asking us if we were ready to order.Informing him that we had just this minute sat down he quite rudely told me that he was going to tell me the specials. This is when I knew they would be rushing us and was asked by my wife to bite my tongue and not to say anything. For starters I got the chicken wings. These things tasted like the bottom of a BBQ they were burnt that much.Wish I had stuck with my usual starter of ribs.My wife and son shared the specials starter of wild mushrooms on sour dough toast and really enjoyed them,HOWEVER,what she didn't enjoy was the waiter asking her if she liked it and when she told him she hadn't even had a chance to try it yet he stood over her until she tried it despite me asking him to move away.Nor did she enjoy the waiter opening up her hand wipe and giving it to her when she was half way through!!!.By this point we knew they were rushing us and my blood was starting to boil. That wasn't helped when, before we were finished our starters, our mains appeared!!! When informed we weren't finished they were taken back to the kitchen. Almost immediately after the starters were finished the mains arrived at our table having being lying out for 5 mins or so.Not a good start. The wee fella got a Burger and chips. The wife got the special of Lobster with garlic butter and chips.I know Lobster is expensive but to pay £20 for this was criminal.More than half of the board/plate was salad, there was exactly EIGHT chips(but they were stacked fancy so that's ok) and as for the lobster..it took her less than a minute to scrape all the meat out and when she did I was sure there must be more but she showed me and sure enough there wasn't.£20 ???? Speechless.....as for the taste, well, dry and nothing special. It says a lot when you have a meal of Lobster and the good thing she says about it is that the salad is really nice!!! I got the Cote de Bouff. Was looking forward to it as the previous steaks I had here were the best steaks I have ever had. This one was the worst due to the fact I paid £27 for it.Again,it had been lying for a good 5 mins before been brought to me and was lukewarm and looked kinda dry.The wife again asked me not to say anything as the staff didn't seem the type to respond in a responsible way so there was no point. This £27 steak was chewy beyond belief and cutting it with my knife was a chore in its self.Honestly, the steak that I had at the LEGOLAND buffet 2 weeks before was better than this, and that wasn't great.Chips were good though. Would also like to point out that throughout the meal staff would come up to the table and wipe it clean while we were still eating. When I told them to leave it as we were still eating I was point blank ignored. The doors also kept blowing open, sending a cold wind into the restaurant and still the staff done nothing.I also don't like it in a restaurant where i'm paying good money for a meal that after 5 mins of sitting with an empty glass,i have to go up to the bar myself.Even then, the waiter didn't tell me to sit down and he'll bring it over but I had to wait while he finished sending an order through and poured me it himself. I declined a dessert as I was that pissed off although the wife got Banoffe pie and the wee man got ice cream. Both went down well although that's probably because they were bought in.Once we were finished we sat to finish our drinks with the staff constantly asking us if we were done.Another example of rushing us despite paying £90 for utter garbage. What I found curious was he was completely different to the women sat behind us who were also finished and just drinking. He was very nice, chatty and joking with them.Maybe just a coincidence. The final insult came when we were walking out.The waiter opened the door looked right at us and said......nothing!!! No..Thank you, hope you enjoyed your meal, please come again, just nothing. One of the things I always praise about this place to people is the quality and professionalism of the staff.Usually you are made to feel welcome and treated like you should for choosing to spend money in their establishment. I only hope this was a one off as this wasn't the usual staff. At this point I wont be back as i'm so pissed off at this it has ruined all the other great meals I've had there.I'm always recommending this place to people and must have sent them a bit of business in the past but no more. I HATE the fact that I paid £90 for a meal that, apart from the chips, salad and bought in dessert, the food was terrible, the value was terrible,TERRIBLE service and staff and we had to sit throughout the meal cold and with our jackets on.Only reason I give it a one on this occasion is because I cant give it a zero
it is a nice place, very intimate. we stayed on the second floor with a view on the street. good food, we took a portuguese burger and an italian burger
Good wine, wild boar burger particularly good, chips so good we ordered a second batch. Attentive service and reasonably priced - adds up to a good evening.
Have been at this place a few times already with friends, and it has always been excellent. Great food, friendly service. Try the kangaroo burger. Recommended!
Food was gorgeous, best rib-eye steak I've ever eaten. Staff were friendly & fantastic. Overall a very enjoyable meal, will be visiting again very soon.
The service is excellent and personable, I've been back 4 times. Sadly I do have one complaint. I do expect a pint of Guinness when I order one not a half for 3.40. Especially as I was sat outside and asked to pay my bill before I received the drink. At least inform the person ordering that it's only a half for this extortionate price.
Fantastic steak as usual. Great atmosphere albeit a bit loud! Dessert menu could do with a revision! Deliciously and reliable - this is great local secret
Restaurant staff seemed very rushed to get you out quick. Bearing in mind we had starters and main and hot drinks after felt like we were being pushed out and also not just us saw it with other customers too
The Greedy Cow, is a fantastic venue, with amazing staff who make each visit pleasurable and will definitely make you want to go back. The food is absolutely devine, have never been disappointed.
The kangaroo burger is good, and well-priced. The Greedy Cow cocktail was interesting, though there was too much ice in it to knock my review up to a six. Otherwise, great!
First time we've been had herd about it from afew people. Must admit wasn't sure, but so glad we decided to go. The food was amazing and the staff are so friendly, very family friendly too. Have booked to go again for easter Sunday.
Perfect sized portions, food tasted wonderful, restaurant looks nice, staff really friendly and helpful, great atmosphere. Went for boyfriends birthday and gave us a free drunk for it and different members of staff came over to congratulate him. Really nice.
We tried the kangoroo hamburger and the japanese one. All was very good. Plus the waiter pier was really helpful and nice everytime. We asked lots of questions because was our first time at this place. We will come back for sure. The japanese one was delicious!!!
Very attentive but discrete service. Wine highly priced. Food quality very good. Sat near door which was good because the pub was rather hot and the draught was welcome.
Staff were very attentive, food was amazing and everything was very prompt. We ordered the kangaroo burger and the wild boar burger with chips and sweet potato fries. everything was cooked to perfection.
Service and ambience good. Interesting menu, very nice wine. My duck, however, was poor. I don't mind it pink but it was really quite tough and the skin disappointingly uncrispy.
Amazing food. Tiny apple crumble took over 15minutes to arrive, but other than that, perfect! Quick to be seated and very warm welcome. Will defo be back :)
Good was yummy! I had s cheese burger and fries but tried my friend's mac n cheese and wish I'd had that too. Service was good! Would definitely go back.
Friendly attentive staff. Small intimate venue. My burger was delicious and they give you salad if you don't want the bun. The fondant dessert was to die for. Will definitely be back.
Probably one of the best places to eat in Mile End. Food served by accommodating waiters/waitresses. Don't be surprised if the owner takes your plates away and checks in that all is well. Very down to earth guy. Never had a bad experience at the Greedy Cow.
The food and service was excellent as always. Would highly recommend the camel and wagyu burgers which were delicious and very filling. A definite eatery to visit I the East of London.
The food was amazing and there was a fun atmosphere too, I would definitely go back and would recommend others to try it out- especially the camel burger!
Once again it was a delicious dinner, great food, great service and a good atmosphere for a meal with a family and friends!
Absolutely Fabulous! My sister and I took mom to the Greedy Cow for a late Mother's Day lunch; the food was deliciously scrumptious, the service was phenomenal and the branding of this little gem of a restaurant is top quality. We will definitely be back. Thanks Greedy Cow. Bobby
Love this place! Burgers are amazing and the staff are amazing!!! I told them it was my friends birthday and they pulled out a few extras for us we didn't expect, so lovely! This is on my repeat list of places to come and eat and the Greedy Cow cocktail is Delish!!!!!!
Excellent food as per usual. You must try the homemade onion rings!
The restaurant is more of a pub/bar than a restaurant which I was not aware of prior to booking. Our booking was 15 minutes late as people were having dessert which was not ideal but okay as we were not starving. The place itself was very noisy which was a bit off putting. Twice drinks orders were completely missed which for a table of two is not really ideal as the only had to remember one drink! Also all tips have to be in cash which is rather embarrassing if you are not aware of this before you go. Now the good bits - the food was reasonably priced and very nice. They have the concept right - simple food well done. The staff were very friendly and did offer us a shot of brandy on the house at the end which was a nice gesture.
One of the best ribeyes I've ever had. The scallops starter was also a great choice. Will definitely go back.
The food was delicious and the manager/owner of the restaurant was very attentive to every detail. We had a really amazing lunch there for Valentin'es day.
Tasting the camel burger was certainly interesting, and the decor of the establishment was quite nice. The location is relatively convenient for me, so I do intend to return. In terms of quality, I rate the establishment highly; however, the camel burger, whilst pleasant enough, wasn't quite to my taste, so it'll probably be beef or kangaroo next time.
Food was amazing, the place was absolutely amazing, however it could have done with some more cheerful music at one point 'Tears in heaven' was planning which has been voted the saddest song ever!
the meal was good the chips were bit over done and it was dark and the tables were too close and had to wait for it to turn up
Food was simple but of a great quality. Despite it being a primarily burger restaurant, there were fish and vegetarian options making it a good restaurant for everyone. The atmosphere was cosy, and it didn't feel like you were sharing the restaurant with 20 other people. Service was attentive and friendly. Very enjoyable meal and experience.
The food was great and didn't have to wait long. Amazing and friendly staff. It is a very small and tight space but otherwise reccomended.
Scallops were delicious. Steaks great as usual. Friendly service again
Always with excellent service and delicious drinks and foods, besides the restaurant is cozy!!
