Goodman Canary Wharf

I think teh service charge was steep. I under stand you dont have to pay it, but it shoudl no t be on the bill and at the discretion of teh customer. 10% is plenty 12.5% is steep at 3 people. especially when house wine is charged at £14 the glass.

Had a lovely time at Goodman's for my husband's birthday dinner. The staff were wonderful and attentive. Unfortunately the meat didn't live up to the quality of staff. I had a USDA Angus Beef 150-day corn-finished fillet which didn't really taste of anything, and my husband had the t-bone (I think Yorkshire) which tasted a little bit of the grill but again no massive taste to it. The steak was pretty tasteless considering the price. I didn't say anything at the time because it was my husband's birthday and I didn't wish to ruin it but I probably wouldn't go back. Unfortunate because again the staff and atmosphere were great!

The food was delicious, especially the grilled tomatoes! My boyfriend and I ate here two nights during the week we vacationed in London, that's how good it was!

Evening à la carte dinner, had a selection of sharing steaks and sides which were excellent but the bill soon mounted up

The staff is quite well taking care my allergy issue, but suggest them to provide more options for dairy free: 1. On the side, we ordered 3 different kinds of them, but two of them came with dairy. 2. On dessert option, should be more suitable for dairy free people and warm dishes.

But for really noisy people at the bar area (where our original table was located), the rest of the experience was really good. We were very helpfully moved to a different table away from the people at the bar (who clearly thought they were in a pub, rather than in a restaurant), and the rest of the experience was very good. I think the restaurant should not really combine the "drinking-only" bar area with a "meal-serving restaurant" area, otherwise the quality (and the price) of food of a good restaurant does not match the atmosphere of a "pub".

We go to Goodman all the time and love it!
