Came as a Mother’a Day treat. Food was delicious. I’d recommend the masala dosa and the biryani too. Both were excellent. Service was very friendly if a little disorganised. The restaurant was almost empty but still managed to forget to bring a dish. Toilets were a little too authentic India for my liking, and really need to be cleaned more thoroughly more regularly. Overall a good experience and the food was delicious. Prices are high reasonable, we paid £60 for three including drinks.
Excellent food! But the staff were rushed off their feet- really need more than 2 people on a Saturday night to make things better for them and also the customers!
Great service and lovely, tasty food. Booking service online was simple and easy to use. I would definitely recommend Ganesha Indian Cusine to other customers!
excellent food, very tasty, no the best value for money, a bit pricy for a few bites but the taste was excellent
food was great. well cooked, tasty and thought out. however decor and service both left a little to be desired. overall a good experience I would go back.
Fabulous fabulous food, venue and service. What a great place for a big family gathering - loved it. A real treat to find such a great eatery in Bristol.
First time in Ganesha for some time & since they moved sites, went with three others before a gig, really good food, staff friendly & attentive.
Restaurant was pretty empty, maybe three other tables in so wasn't busy, yet we had to ask to order drinks about 20 minutes after we had sat down at the table. When they came, they served bottles of cider that were 2.5 years out of date!!! Further delay to take order, poppadoms arrived with starters, yet we asked for these to come in advance so that we could nibble whilst waiting for the starters. Smallest pot of mango chutney between 4 people I've ever seen considering we'd ordered 12 poppadoms too!! Starters were nice I must admit, but the main course was very bland, small portion and zero spice even though I asked for it to be extra hot. The naan breads were delayed coming out so overall, very disappointing! We go to many Indian restaurants and this has to be one of the worst we've been to. Wouldn't visit again! They even added on a 10% service charge automatically onto the bill, for 4 people???
Experience was good and food was fine. But food could have been slightly better. Otherwise, ambience was fine and little more of South Indian dishes will be better
Very nice food. Although I was surprised to see that a service charge had been added to the bill. Not normal for this type of restaurant and I only noticed it after I had given a tip.
Great food prepared by people who take pride in what they do. Individual dishes were varied and delicious, so much better than the typical generic Indian food we are used to.
Great to taste an authentic Indian meal with a difference. Well done to the chef and all the waiting staff who were there on the night.
Helpful and informative staff who advised on the best dishes. tasty food served in a pleasant environment. Lucky to have this restaurant practically on our doorstep.
Says 4 and a half stars I wouldn't give it half a star, will never be eating here again! RUBBISH meals come out at different times, had my rice 6 minutes before my curry, staff didn't understand English very well, was gutted that me and my girlfriend had a night off from the kids and this place was unfortunately my choice due to PROFESSIONAL reviews will never be so naive again!
The best Indian food we've had in a long time. The Aloo Gobi and Navratan Korma were delicious. The gin and tonic is highly recommended. Service was friendly and quick. We'll definitely be back soon!
Lovely, fresh tasting food, with many interesting menu choices, and staff happy to check with kitchen re. vegan options. My only tiny criticism is that while browsing menu it would have been nice for drinks order to be taken ahead of food order. But on the whole this is a restaurant we would go back to, and happily recommend to others. Easily makes my top tier of Indian cuisine experiences.
Some of the best Indian food in Bristol. It was not that busy over weekdays and the service was excellent. The food arrived very quickly but there was no compromise on the taste or the quality. The Dosa starter was exceptional with the crispy pancake and delicious sauce. There was nothing to fault with the mains as well and were not as greasy as the other Indian places. Overall, will definitely be back to try the other dishes on their menu
You will find that Ganesha serves delicious authentic food. Excellent service. Comfortable atmosphere. The only negative is that it is a bit pricey - and there is a compulsory service charge addded to bill. 😬
God was great, good selection of dishes you don't usually see and also a great range of veggie dishes too. Good prices on the menu and friendly and helpful service.
Easy to locate and near Bristol City Centre. Exactly matches up to website. Appealing decor, wonderful food and and a great atmosphere. Staff were friendly , service was good , prices were reasonable and we left feeling happy. We would go again.
very enjoyable great food and service i have been to ganesha three times now it is a good restaurant i would recommend it for a great meal
Friendly and helpful staff, interesting menu, every item that we ordered was a success, liked the crockery. Plenty of choice, and all seemed freshly made.
Restaurant was empty at 8pm on a Saturday night. We didn't stay to eat as there was no atmosphere whatsoever and it is never a good sign when there are no other customers!
Basic food. Poor service from waiters, owner serving with jeans and a t shirt. Cob webs all over restaurant. No soap in toilet. Basic Failures!
Great food, location was perfect - staff really friendly too. We shared a mixture of starters that were really fresh and great sharing plates- would return
Service quite slow although we weren't in a hurry. When the mains arrived the tandoori chicken was still raw. Sent back and the same pieces of chicken were put in the oven and returned, still not cooked. Such a shame as the last time was brilliant.
A very good place to eat. The staff were polite and friendly. Food was fairly priced, cooked perfectly, tasted delicious and served in a timely manner. Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Not sure they had our reservation but seated is quickly regardless. A large party meant that service was very slow and erratic. The dos however was worth the wait and staff very apologetic. Will go back not at Xmas time to try again.
We had a great experience at Ganesha. Food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend this restaura n t.
I had been about to head to a different venue when I read the reviews on Ganesha and decided to book here instead. It was my wife's wedding anniversary. (Well, it was mine too I suppose but you know how they get.) Straight away I can say that the food was exceptional. The flavours were both subtle and intense by turn and this was authentic, intelligent cooking at its pinnacle. The Dosa Ghosht (pancake served with a bowl of tender lamb in a delicious masala sauce), along with the best Onion Bhajis I have had, made for perfect shared starters. Ghosht Kholhapuri, a spicy lamb dish, I had all to myself as it was too hot for my wife. (Result!) She opted for the Ghosht Saagwala, lamb cooked in spinach. The accompanying portions of Saffron rice were much lighter than the usual Pilau rice to which we are often accustomed and the Naan bread was beautifully fresh. As they didn't have our first choice of fizz, the manager kindly knocked £10 off a more expensive bottle of champagne. A gesture we much appreciated. I never like to be negative about minor points, especially when a restaurant is busy, popular (as Ganesha clearly is) and is very obviously trying hard. My only gripe was that such genuine and authentic Indian food is slightly let down by the ambience. The restaurant has more of the feel of a student canteen than the special venue it ought to be but perhaps it's this degree of informality which it aims to achieve, in which case my observation isn't really valid. Even so, if Ganesha doesn't exactly have the feel of the grand days of the Raj, our waiter (pleasant and helpful as he was) could do the place a favour by ditching the baseball cap and losing the chewing gum. Innit. Martin
really excellent food and great service. lots of unusual dishes and flavours. the dosas were particularly good. well priced and good value. thoroughly recommended. convenient fro centre and for south bristol
Table was ready for us when we arrived and the food was good although the pickle tray was quite small for five people. We just thought the restaurant itself needed a bit of an update.
Fantastic meal and great hospitality and help from the manager. The menu is Bangladeshi and had some exciting new dishes to try. I would definitely go back.
First visit to Ganesha ; Staff and service were good; food all very good. Cost at £30+ / head more than we would normally expect to pay
We had a family meal and enjoyed delicious Indian regional dishes, try the dosa (pancakes) with delicate and fresh flavours. Recommend Ganesha in bedminster for authentic Indian food and very friendly and helpful staff.
The food was excellent; the people were nice. I can't fault. The only improvement would be to the experience, a suggestion being if the staff were dressed in traditional indian attire.
Great night spent with the boyfriend, friendly service and the food was top notch. I would recommend going here for a date night or a few friends to enjoy a cosy evening.
Maybe the best Indian restaurant meal we've ever had. Iñnovative menu with many authentic dishes, rather than the usual "same old same old" that most UK indian restaurants churn out. Attentive, informative and polite service too. A vegetarian's heaven. 5 star recommendation from us.
Excellent food and lovely staff - we spent a very pleasant evening at Ganesha and were glad we had booked because it was busy at 7.45pm on a Saturday evening.
Good food, unusual menu, authentic Indian cooking, great flavours. Recommended for taste of real India. Stands out as good restaurant for Indian food in the whole area of Bristol, Somerset.
The restaurant was good, and the service was fantastic, although they did not find our booking through quandoo. We had a great meal as a family.
This was the best Indian food we've eaten, outside of India. We are vegetarian, so can't compliment the meat dishes - but would thoroughly recommend!
I will not go and pay second visit, their food is substandard. Please don't try Masla Dosa that was worst and veg platter is same.
excellent food and very helpful service - group of 5 and we had lovely dosa starters followed by a selection of v exotic mains including goan fish, and aubergine in peanut sauce (their best dish) - love the food and service at this place and with a taste card got some meals free too!
Excellent food and service. Atmosphere was good and staff were friendly. Everyone should try the Dosas, they're the best! Food seems to be more traditional than a lot of other Indian restaurants which make it stand out.
Great food and friendly service. The dosas are really good as a starter. The menu is authentically Indian, not 'British Indian'. I recommend visiting here...
Great food great staff toilets could do good with a freshen up but loved it never the less. Waiter very helpful. A nice bunch of guys
My husband and I had a lovely meal at Ganesha, the staff were really helpful and the food great. The menu was a pleasant change to most Indian restaurants. I would visit there again.
Welcomed by very helpful and friendly staff. Authentic Indian menu with many different and/or unusual dishes. Marvellous food which promised much and delivered in all respects. Recommended.
A little gem, Keralan influenced menu, loved the Tiffin. It's fairly ordinary decor, but pleasant enough. If it's not busy the manager will happily chat about the food, and about Kerala, and recommend what goes well together. Gents toilet door handle had come loose, but I don;t go there to try out the handles. Delicious dishes and I;ve been 4 times, never disappoints.
