Excellent service , great food , pleasing setting My friends and I enjoyed a relaxing meal at Fothergills. An excellent venue and the staff were cheerful and efficient. I would definitely recommend Fothergills Nottingham.

A great venue close by Nottingham Castle with outdoor seating when weather permits. A friendly welcome and good service. A good range of well-kept draught beers and a good choice of wines. A menu offering a good choice of starters, salads and main courses (but apparently no sandwiches). I had chicken, brie and chorizo salad, which was excellent. Thoroughly recommended.

Probably my 4th or 5th visit this year and again, cannot fault. Excellent service, food and environment. probably my 'go to' place now. Would highly recommend.

We have been to Fothergills several times now and have always found the food to be very good and the staff are always very pleasant.

Delicious food and cosy setting. We were a table of 8 that was well looked after, receiving our food and drinks promptly. Baked Camembert starter was a winner

very helpful staff particularly for my friend who has recently been diagnosed as coeliac. Nice ambience. overall enjoyed the meal, duck was excellent. I would go again

The location is very nice, the food was good(we ordered the sunday roast) and the people that work there make you comfortable.I will recommend for sure.

Fothergills is located in a great location in the centre of town, with in a building full of character together with great food and service.

We had a fantastic meal at Fothergills the quality of service and the food was exceptional, set in a really lovely area next to the Castle.

A very enjoyable meal in vibrant surroundings, will definitely return in the future staff were friendly and attentive, could not be more helpful. Cost of meal not over expensive

Fothergills is our favorite location for sunday lunch especially, the food and service is exceptional at this place. The old charm of the building in the shadow of the Castle is lovely.

This place is in a great location in the centre of town. The service was truly brilliant and the quality of the food was really good.

service was good and food was tasty. Would have scored higher if my salad wasn't covered in coriander which I hate and which wasn't listed on the ingredients! Also the beer was very flat but that could be the way it was being poured

Staff and ambience very good but hake was a bit dry. Asparagus and black pudding starter was delicious though. Both wines were very good also.

Great location for Sunday lunch - it was warm (just about) enough to have the doors open - be interesting to come back again for the evening menu.

Great food , excellent service in lovely surroundings. Fothergills has never disappointed. Salmon and asparagus and Black pudding starters were great and my lamb shank was perfectly cooked.

5 of us went for lunch. Excellent food and service - the nicest salad i have had! will definitely return and looking forward to it.

A very nice meal with family in pleasant surroundings with attentive and enthusiastic service. Only a shame that the restaurant lost our dessert order which somewhat delayed the end of our evening. Would recommend and will be back.

I booked our party of 6 in advance for my husbands 60th birthday and assuming we would be situated in the restaurant not on high stools on a shared table at the end of the bar this was uncomfortable due to three other people drinking at the bar and were sitting so close they were using the table to place their glasses. Two fish dishes were well over cooked. Not impressed just disappointed.

Me and my other companions enjoyed eating at your establishment and my only criticism is that my chips were overcooked slightly, but other than that, it was perfect...thank you!

Service is fantastic and the food is usually outstanding. Set right next to the Castle in Nottingham this place has great character and old world charm

good food reasonably priced for city centre. great location with some nearby on street parking which is free after 8 pm. excellent service from attentive staff

Not all our food orders were delivered together (we had to wait 5 minutes for last order) and some side orders were missed. Generally though, it was fine.

Slow lunch time service, food not very warm and seemed over priced for what it was. Disappointing as usually great service and food. If you plan to go for lunch give yourself 2 hours.

Best Sunday roast in nottingham!!!! The staff and the location are also hard to beat. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice relaxed meal

Fothergils is a great restaurant. The staff are very efficient and friendly. The food is good served in great surroundings by the side of Nottingham Castle - great atmosphere!

Fab Sunday roast again, be sure to book as the restaurant is quite small and it can get busy on a nice Sunday afternoon. .

Nice location and great to sit outside and enjoy the sun however the food was just OK and service was slow as too few staff.

Very tasty well presented meals. Excellent service by friendly staff. Some of the meals lacked a bit off finnesse spring onion on starter hadn't been prepped. Juat a little too rustic! This didn't detract from the overall that meal we thoroughly enjoyed.

Very good service, good value and atmosphere. We enjoyed burger, sausage and mash, rabbit casserole followed by raspberry crumble and chocolate brownie and ice cream. Sticky toffee pudding was a little dry. A good range of real ale.
