Fothergills

We had a great evening at Fothergills. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was very good, and we really enjoyed the food. The only reason for not giving a top score was that we had to complain about the quality of one of the beers. The charge for the beer was removed from the bill, so not a problem. We would love to return and recommend to others.

Good food and fantastic service. Looking forward to next time. It was the first time for my Mum and she loved it and will be going again too

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Fothergill’s in Nottingham, the staff were friendly, attentive but not intrusive.. and the food very good as usual.. thanks will be back

Great time, went there with my family. Slight mix up in the kitchen but was amended and the meal that was mixed up was given free.

Really lovely food. Friendly staff. We were with friends from out of town for a special birthday and had the table for a long time but did not feel rushed. Great !

Very friendly and helpful staff but the main courses were served luke warm. We should have mentioned this maybe but we were all really hungry so we didn't. It was very cold in the restaurant when we arrived, it was very cold outside, but the main heating didn't seem to be working and instead a small free standing radiator was placed by our table, which didn't give off too much heat. Sat with my coat on for some of the time we were eating.

Sunday lunch here was gorgeous, I live in Leamington and I can’t wait to travel back up again! I would go as far as saying that was one of the nicest Sunday roasts I’ve had! Staff were really friendly and helpful!

Went for the wine and dine deal before going to the theatre. Excellent value for money and lovely food with nice quality wine. Staff as good as ever

We all had the meal deal. Delicious, and just the right amount of food. The service is ok I’d like it slightly quicker as we were all returning to work. We will be back.

Brilliant night,wonderful helpfull pleasant staff. Fantastic night out. Manager went out of his way to help us select wine that complemented the excellent food we ordered. Would definately recommend to friends.

Food as always tasty and nicely presented. Drinks service was a little slow when compared to previous experiences. Will come again as overall a pleasant venue with good food choices.

Went for Sunday lunch. It was great as was the service. No rushing you out the door and was very reasonably priced. Good setting with a couple of bars close.

Four of us ate at 8pm on a Saturday, we found Fothergills to have a Lovely atmosphere, good service. Varied menu. We'll definitely go again .

Sunday lunch... great quality tasty food. I went for the beef but it was a tough choice but also tried my partners belly pork which was totally divine .Good service with knowledgable staff. Great ambience

Everything was perfect but they forgot to bring the kids drink that came with the meal.food was really good along with the prices and selection.

Ambience and service were good. We thoroughly enjoyed the food we ordered. However, we would have chosen to eat from the 'menu of the day' but felt that the mains listed were limiting in choice. Overall, there was a lot of choice from three menus available. Will visit again and recommend to friends.

We were well looked after. Food was very good. Good lunchtime deals were available which we availed ourselves of. In a good location by the castle.

On a Friday night in Nottingham this was a very pleasant place for dinner, with very friendly service in a great atmosphere. My belly pork was to die for, and the excellent Malbec was reasonably priced.

Great, although crackling on pork wasn't crisp but mentioned this and was rectified. Very attentive waiter's. May visit again some time. Very good evening. Very reasonable

It was absolutely beautiful from start to finish . Lovely restaurant out of the way of the hustle and bustle.beautiful surroundings.service was very good and food was delicious.

We went for a couples Christmas meal. The experience was excellent in everyway. Staff were attentive and well mannered. Food was superb. It was off a set menu that we had Pre ordered as is the norm for most Christmas meals. There was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant, with all customers well behaved and not over rowdy as can happen at Christmas.

Such a pretty restaurant in the perfect location. The Christmas lights made Fothergills look extra special for my graduation meal. Food is so nice, especially the mussels in a bacon and leek sauce, and all great value. Service is great too - not overbearing and the right level of jokes/banter to add to the atmosphere of the place. They also booked a cab for us, and rang the company to check how far away they were without us even having to ask. Loved it!

Great food, great service and great value for money. We normally go to Browns but will now be using Fothergills as our regular go to place. Very impressed

Friendly staff, good food, we have been 5 times, something must be good, we will eat there again, and again, and again. Roll on the next time.

Food is nice but the service is absolutely atrocious. Wouldn't bother unless you want to wait in a cold restaurant for god knows how long to be served. Slow.

Tim was very prompt and had our food ready five min after we arrived as requested and promised! Was very happy with the food and settings.

We had a lovely meal and the staff were very pleasant. The sharing platter was reminiscent of a past Spanish holiday and the pork was exceptional with some very serious crackling

Lovely upstairs room, subtle lighting, polished tables, gluten free tweaks offered from interesting menu, all four party members pleased with food and wine. Thank you.

Food was good. But soup was not what they said. And my steak was a bit under. Nice staff. But got asked a lot if we were ready to order. So lack of communication. But would go again

Lovely food again on my second visit. Lovely chorizo and prawn starter and pork belly with tailored sides!

A lovely meal on a Friday evening. Great food and attentive service. A very nice Sauvignon helped wash the food down too. Didn't need dessert, but saw some cheeky choices for next time 😀

Staff friendly but unaware of the correct items on the menu. Soup brought out cold! Lamb shank tough to chew. Maybe not the best Sunday lunch I’ve had in Nottingham.

The food and service was excellent. The room was a little cold and the music a little too loud but overall the experience was very enjoyable.

Lovely food & lovely service. Will go back! The mussles were so nice, up there with the best ive had! Very fresh! Also the baileys coffee i had for afters! Yum!

Our lunch at Fothergills - delightful in every way. Delicious food; warm, friendly staff; and comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic location - right next to the castle, close to the Market Square and Nottingham’s great shops. Highly recommended!

My friend and I had the lunchtime offer ,which included a drink in the fixed price of £8.50. The food and service was very good . I had the fish finger sandwich and my friend had the chicken and red wine. Will definitely be going back.

Pleasant surroundings but food (jus/gravy) way too salty. Service was ok and the food was priced reasonably. Eton Mess was enjoyed by all. Limited variety of beer.

Amazing food and service. 10/10. Gave the dogs water in dog bowls. The steak is by far the best meal on the menu, cooked to perfection!

Food very tasty and well presented ...staff as always very helpful and courteous........service prompt. Position of restaurant super as overlooking Nottingham castle and traffic free area to the front.

The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was relaxed and warm. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive. It's also a great location to eat and then start a night out in city.

Great atmosphere, lovely location, fantastic service and a very tasty Sunday lunch. Roast beef was good, with extra gravy. Yorkshire puds were awesome. Puddings were good too!

Great service- despite a large table of 58 arriving to the restaurant a lot later than expected the restaurant ensured we did not have to wait for our food and got great service
