I love the location and, usually, atmosphere of the restaurant. The service when the food was served was excellent. However, I think the staff must have changed over as, after dessert, we seemed to get forgotten about in the lower level area, even a napkin catching light on the table candle (this got out of hand and was quite dangerous) was unnoticed. I had to go to the bar to ask for the bill twice and the staff member didn’t seem totally with it ... maybe they were busy.

Very, very noisy. Very, very cold. Not much for vegans to eat. Nice staff. X

Annual Christmas meet up with a friend. No expectations really but Fothergills was excellent. Food was good and service outstanding. A really lovely and professional team. Definitely recommend

Food was fantastic but the waiting time for food when it was pre-ordered was totally unacceptable. Took 1 1/2 hours when we were on a 1 hour lunch break. Also we had paid a £50.00 deposit which was not deducted from the bill until we raised the issue.

Very good food, great service, and the staff were very patient with my cheeky 2 year old.

Beef on the baguette was cold, not sure if this was meant to be the case. Chicken and Chorizo linguine to creamy rich. It also took quite a while for the food to arrive.

The only disappointment was a family was in with very noisy children- not fault of the restaurant just the parents!

Our food was good and varied, but service was exceptionally slow. My main course arrived a full 5 minutes behind the other people in our party, and the gap between finishing our main course and having our plates taken was over 20 minutes - whilst staff stacked empty chairs outside and cleared glasses from tables with no customers. Good food, but let down by less than attentive service.

Lovely Sunday lunch, very polite and helpful staff and quick service. Food very nice except the beef would have been better if it was topside instead of silver side as it was overdone and a bit tough. The belly pork was fab along with the very tasty vegetables.
