Arrived when they opened, so the place was empty. They would not let us sit in a booth as they were all booked. When we left, surprise, surprise, lots of booths were still empty! Food ok...but you felt they were doing you a favour just letting you be there.

The seafood platter for 2 was amazing, really friendly staff and great service.. one of the best seafood restaurants we have been to for a long time, looking forward to returning.

Super food, service, and surroundings. Very impressed. We had Whitebait and Scallops to start, with Fillet Steak and Monk fish for main courses. All perfectly cooked and served.

Food was fabulous as was the service, unfortunately I had to miss my Mum's birthday party last night because of the dreaded lurgie, so I must book again soon.

My friend and I had gammon from the lunchtime menu, it was delicious! I have never had a bad meal here, the staff are excellent too, very professional. i will be returning soon!

We visited on consecutive nights. The food was good, the service friendly (they enjoy a bit of banter) and we would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Southport

A great night where the food,drink,service and atmosphere were superb not rushed but the stall were very attentive to ensure if you needed anything it was sorted. A very professional operation made to feel very welcome and a fair price for what was some very tasty food .

The food was absolutely gorgeous. We had scallops to start and then rump steak. We really enjoyed our experience and are looking forward to going again.

Party of 6 and all our meals were just perfect. An Extensive menu choice including very reasonably priced 2 or 3 course specials of the day. The service was good as always.

Thursday night is fish night with 30% reduction on an impressive range of seafood dishes. I had a beautiful piece of monkfish and my friend had a seafood platter with a wide range of ingredients including oysters, salmon and absolutely fabulous mussels in a wine and cream sauce. Al dente vegatables and new potatoes were the perfect accompaniment. It was very busy at 9pm so I recommend you book in advance.

FIRST TIME GOING TO THE FORGE, ALWAYS HEARD GOOD REPORTS FROM VARIOUS PEOPLE. THEY WERE RIGHT. IT WAS MY HUSBANDS BIRTHDAY AND BEING ON A MONDAY NIGHT I FOUND IT HARD TO PICK OUT A PLACE TO EAT THAT WOULDNT BE TOO QUIET AND EMPTY BOOKED THE FORGE WHICH WAS JUST AS WELL AS WHEN WE ARRIVED AT 7.30PM THE PLACE WAS ALMOST FULL.AND BUZZING WE WENT FOR THE 2 COURSE MEAL DEAL -EVERYTHING THAT CAME WAS REALLY TASTY AND WELL COOKED I OBSERVED OTHER PEOPLES MEALS THAT LOOKED SUPER. WILL BE GOING AGAIN -BRILL PLACE

eight of use had a lovely meal at The Forge but one of my friends didn't like the fish pie it had too much sauce which I found out from another friend that this is unusual. Overall it was lovely

As always, the food at The Forge was excellent and the service good. I had the ribs which fell apart and were delicious and my wife had the fillet steak which she said was great.

Great food and excellent service. I had oysters to start and they were some of the best I have ever had. My son said his pate and stroganoff were ver good.
