Very pleasant welcome. My friend was late meeting me so I sat at our table and ordered a drink. It was busy in the main dining room and diners were obviously enjoying themselves. The food and service were excellent. Will definitely go again.
Great Sunday lunch served till late, great decor and comfortable setting. Served with a smile and good merlot wine. Massive Yorkshire puddings but beef a little fatty but that gives the flavour!
Farmers Arms is an attractive environment to either eat or just drink, with a comprehensive "pub restaurant" menu, served by attentive smiling staff. The Beer-battered fish was cooked to be one of the very best. Value for money just about right.
Been there many times and given it good reviews on facebook. This time however we were very dissapointed . The service was exceptionally slow, and the food quality was very poor in comparison to what we have had previously. Did not enjoy the experience which should have been a celebration of our wedding anniversary.
Late to sit down, took ages to take our order and then missed one of the meals from order. Food was lovely when it eventually arrived but it wasn't an enjoyable experience!
Great food and great friendly atmosphere. A great place for a family gathering. Staff were very attentive and helpful.Would definitely recommend the Sunday Roast. Great
This restaurant has everything which customers could want. A smiling welcome, a good choice of food, reasonable prices, tasty food with good, friendly service by people who care. Also, importantly, Robinson's cask ales, which are all served at the correct temperature.
A very local Pub. The service, food and staff all top notch. Farmers Arms is recommend to all friends and visitors as THE place to go. Apart from all of the above , the atmosphere is very friendly and comfotable.
Lovely Meal, attentive staff, price was reasonable and the restaurant was clean and in good condition. We would definitely return, can highly recommend the halloumi salad.
The Farmers Arms serves great food, with fantastic service and is good value. This is a restaurant well worth a visit. And the beer is decent too.
Excellent food, service at times a little slow . No complaints about the staff who were exrtremely courteous but very hard worked. Been to Farmers Arms when quieter during the week when the service was excellent like the food. Atmosphere very good and a very pleasant venting spent with friends.
A friendly welcome, good service, a varied and interesting menu, great food at a reasonable price. The restaurant's decor is a little 'over-themed', but this does not detract from the experience.
Lovely pub friendly staff and great food my mum had the fish and chips and she said it was the best she had ever tasted will definitely be returning
Excellent food and good service. Always very attentive staff. Its probably the best for food of its type in the area. Well worth a visit
Very disappointing, I am afraid. The food was very late in coming as the chef had to go home. The Supreme Chicken was a very small portion and didn’t have the filling in the chicken as the menu set out. The roast dinner was of very poor quality. The meat was tough and the gravy tasted powdered. The fish and chips fish was very watery with soggy batter. This isn’t the only time we have had a disappointing meal here, but it is the last, as we won’t be returning.
Superb all round. Would def go again. Food great and service speedy. Lovely ambience inside, nice decor. Would highly recommend. Also easy to park. Chris
Excellent service and lovely food for a double birthday celebration. No problem for them to cope with a range of diet requirements for all of us.
The staff were very attentive, food was freshly cooked and tasty, all in all a very pleasant experience. What more can I say. Will I book again, a big fat yes.
Service slow but polite. We booked for 6.15pm but did not eat anything until 7.00pm. We were a party of four and all starters and main courses were excellent .
Visited with family who haven't eaten here before and were very impressed with quality of food, choice and attentive service from the staff ! All good and 5* to the staff 😃
The Farmers Arms in Poynton has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with polite friendly staff. The food is lovely and at reasonable prices. Would definately recomend it.
Brilliant service ,very nice food ( but not excellent ) my only complaint is that it was very expensive for a pub and for what we had. Otherwise a great evening.
There were six of us, and all were very pleased with the service, we found them very polite overall ecxcellent except for no skimmed milk
Lovely evening with friends. Staff friendly and attentative . Menu had plenty of choices, and our waitress spoke to us about the 'Specials of the day'. Meal arrived hot and decent sized portions - we couldn't manage puddings, just went straight to the coffee! Would certainly eat there again.
From the moment we entered we received a warm welcome from members of staff which continued throughout our time spent over lunch. Our needs were attended in a friendly and efficient manner and we will certainly return in the future.
Great food, service and ambience as usual ! Well done Emily and team ! Best place to eat in poynton village, consistently good food andvservice 😃👍🏼
Very good service food and ambience, well staffed with excellent waitresses and ver good price, would recommend for lunch or dinner anytime, well pleased. Thanks
Lovely Sunday lunch - service and food excellent; we will be back. Quick efficient and friendly waitresses who catered for my wife's requests as she has recently had a major operation.
Myself, husband and two friends had a great food and service experience on Sat 1st July. Been a few times now and slowly working our way through the menu as all selctions are yummy and presented so well. Thank you Farmers Arms
Welcoming and pleasant staff. Food: freshly cooked and promptly served. Sensible wine list, well kept bitter as you would expect. Well laid out and tastefully yet unusually decorated. Able to order food after 21.30 and a bill which wasn't devastatingly high.
We had a great night out. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. It was very busy but we were served quickly and there was a good atmosphere all night
Excellent food and service. Thank you The decor and atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We could relax and take our time over lunch without being rushed in any way.? The food was delicious
Great night out lovely staff food was Fantastic as always and good music, will be back... again and again it's our favourite local in the village
Staff friendly and professional. Asked about eating outside as it was very hot day/night - rather than in the restaurant itself as originally booked, this was organised immediately. Food good and nicely presented. Would definitely come again. thank you
Food and service both excellent. Unfortunately when we arrived the place was very busy and a family with small children were next to us but we had a drink at the bar until they departed. The staff were very understanding and attentive.
Really nice place the food was fantastic and the staff were great. The staff were very accommodating as in our party we had two babys in car seats and they made sure we had enough room for them without having to put them on the floor.
Great food, great service and lovely comfortable environment. Perfect lunch for my daughters birthday with family. I would definitely recommend this venue and visit again.
We just had a fantastic Sunday Lunch at Farmer's Arms. The staff was superb. They made my wife and I, who just moved into Poynton this week, and our guests from Dublin, feel like part of the family. I am in a wheelchair so they set us up at table on the ground floor. We had a great meal, great bitter, and an all-around wonderful time. We now know where are local will be! Thanks for everything, Ed & Helen Lord
Pleasant surroundings, pleasant staff, lovely food well presented. A major improvement to what was once a small but cosy pub. We have been three times now for lunch and haven't been disappointed. Suggest you make a booking as it is very popular.
The food was good but the service left something to be desired. Far too long before we were able to order and too long to wait for our main courses. After asking the waitress about the delay, I felt it was my fault that I had ordered chicken, which according to her took time to prepare!
Service friendly as always and all the food was lovely. The new menu only has one veggie main though which was disappointing but the nice lady who served us said she would try to get another put on the specials board.
I enjoyed a wonderful evening at the farmers arms. The staff were very polite and went out of there way to be helpful and ensure that everything was to our liking. The restaurant was very clean and the food was amazing I will definatley be returning
Meals are excellent, particularly the Sunday lunch but soft drinks are overpriced., £3.00 for a pint of orange and lemonade is unacceptable. This is getting into Lager territory and penalises drivers avoiding alcoholic beverages. The Church Inn in Cheadle Hulme charges £2.38 for the same drink. I think it might be "corporation pop" for me in future.
The food was creative, delicious and served with a smile, while the atmosphere made for a relaxing evening. Will call again. Thank you! Table for three.
Never dined here before, found there was a wide variety of choice on the menu. We went for the two course option with a lovely Sunday lunch as the main. Great food and attentive staff.
The Decor is very nice, with a good atmosphere, the food and service was also very good and reasonably priced too. The outside area looked lovely too.
Good atmosphere, my husband would have preferred a greater beer selection. Main courses were good, desserts were disappointing. A good selection of soft drinks, though. I enjoyed my elderflower.
We all had the sirloin steak which was extremely tender, although asked for medium rare was more medium but still delicious. Service was good. Waitress pleasant.
Got everything I would expect in service and food quality for the amount of money paid. Nothing exceptional but I would visit the pub again.
Love the Farmers Arms. Great food and the staff are always a delight. If I had any criticism I would like to see menu changes more often than at present.
