Had to go looking for staff in order to pay the bill - very disappointing. We were completely ignored once the plates had been cleared.

An interesting menu, very friendly service, high quality food, very pleasant surroundings. We had lunch there with friends on a very busy Friday and the only drawback was that desserts took a long time to arrive and one of our party had to cancel his and leave at 2pm. (We arrived at 12.15.) Otherwise - a very enjoyable visit, and we shall certainly be back.

Pros: Lovely pub/restaurant. Staff were able to add an extra place to the table at short notice. Good choice of food. Cons: Menus starting to look a bit tatty around the edges and feel sticky.

The service was excellent, and the food was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we will definitely be visiting again. Highly recommended!

Lovely, friendly staff. Food was excellent. Restaurant was nicely decorated and tables where far enough apart wasn't invading anybody table. Would definitely would visit again.

We have been to the Farmers Arms before and we have always had good service and food. Excellent. It was very busy but still got good service.

The staff are excellent and the decor is beautiful and they alone would get the highest rsting. The food is nice but I'm fed up with the same menu - It's been the same menu for over a year. Also, why do I have to eat my sharing platter off a saucer? Sadly that is why I'm only giving it a 3. I'm not going again unless they change the menu and buy some proper plates.

Last minute treat for my girls and I. As always the service was excellent, food was good although I could have done with a hot plate as my food didn't retain its heat very well. My vegetable accompaniment was warm and not very interesting, all boiled and colourless. Overall it was a very enjoyable visit and would return.

My husband and mother-in-law had lunch on a Friday. The staff, venue and food were fantastic. We have been before and will no doubt visit again.

We enjoyed choosing from a menu which offered a good selection of starters and mains in a very pleasant restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. All four of us thought that the dishes chosen were well presented and good quality. Our chosen wine, a Malbec, was enjoyable enough to warrant ordering a second bottle. Moving on to dessert we again thought there was a good choice. Although there seemed to be a delay in getting the meal started, the service was efficient and friendly. When the time came to pay we were not disappointed particularly considering we had 2 bottles of wine and coffees to finish.

Love this pub, nice friendly atmosphere, clean and tastefully decorated! Always Swift service, friendly staff , tasty food ,nice Thursday evening treat! Well priced too!

Staff were polite and friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, unusual decor. The food was well presented, very tasty, and reasonably priced. The restaurant has its own car park.

Good choice of lunchtime food at reasonable prices. Staff welcoming, pleasant and efficient. Comfortable seating. Welcome range of beers and lagers, some craft and some foreign as well as standard ones. Overall, very pleasant.

Fish was delicious and plenty of it, no critism over any of the meals. Service a little on the slow side but this did not worry us as we could have loads of time to converse converse with our friends.

Excellent service once seated. A little bit manic in the bar area when we arrived so had to hang around waiting at the reception table which wasn't manned. Food excellent although small portion of lamb on my main considering the price but was delicious.

Nice lunch, couldn't face the sweet menu, too full. Atmosphere, surrounding all good, staff a little short but the two waitresses coped admirably serving the food.

The service was excellent and the waitresses were all extremely attentive. Even a member of the kitchen staff came out to ask how our meal was. Lovely cosy atmosphere and very clean. The only thing we were not keen on was the booth seating as it is very cramped to get in and out and the table was very close . Would much prefer to have a table with chairs to be able to sit at a comfortable distance from the table.

Excellent food friendly service. , arrived early but wasn't a problem Good value for money and a good choice of meals burgers, salads and variety of main courses and starters. Dessert menu a little dissapointing as usual offerings that you seem to get everywhere. Nothing out of the ordinary which was a shame as it didn't reflect the great choice on the main menus. Only had two courses because of that but to be fair two courses was enough for lunch anyway

This was our first visit to the restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food was lovely, piping hot and very tasty indeed. We particularly liked the scallops starter and the linguine, which was quite spicy so probably no need for my son to have asked for extra chilli !

Good meal with family. Choice was just right and service was great and very friendly. Atmosphere and ambience was good and meal was well received.

Great food, freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. Service with both a smile and a chat and nothing too much trouble. But most importantly, well kept beer brewed at Robinson's Brewery, proud sponsors of Stockport County

Great food and service. Staff are excellent and it is a thoroughly pleasant atmosphere. Roast beef was tender, good vegetables and pudding very tasty. Great Espresso too.

Good service which is lacking in so many establishments these days! Food which is always cooked well and presented the way in which it should be. But above all, a great selection of Robinson's beers, brewed in Stockport, the home of Stockport County.

Excellent food, well presented and the staff were friendly and helpful. It looks recently renovated and very smart. Our only issue was that it was a little too cold in there and could do with turning the heating up a bit

Friendly staff and large portions of food. Would be nice to have a midweek fixed lunch price as it was expensive. Good coffee too and pleasant atmosphere.

Great food as always, slightly slow service but we went as a group of 4 so didn't bother us. Kindly made us strong coffees as we'd found the coffee weak on previous visit

I can highly rate the farmers arms went on Sunday with my daughter, we had the 3 course Sunday lunch, food was lovely staff attentive fantastic value.

Service very bad even though it wasn't really busy, food nice, but probably won't go again due to the slow & rubbish service , a party of 4, 2 mains served 15 minutes apart.

Lovely food and environment and great Robinsons beer. Friendly and efficient staff. Had a lovely relaxed Saturday afternoon lunch in Poynton village. Will be returning.

Enjoyed a delicious home made soup with lovely fresh bread. Followed by vegetarian burger, very tasty. Welcoming environment in conservatory and good food and service.

We really enjoyed it. The only thing is I think there should be beans offered as well as peas for the children as mine don't like peas

Excellent early doors meal, table booked on-line. Bar service was very good and the restaurant staff were very attentive.The food was good ad well presented.

We've been to The Farmers on numerous occasions and have always found the food and service excellent. This time was no different. The portions are just right and you are not rushed so able to relax and enjoy.
