Very good food and service. Staff very accommodating and happy to change things to suit diet and allergies. Would definately recommend. Not cheap but you get what you pay for
Our first time here. Nicely decorated, cosy. All staff appeared to be Italian. Very attentive without being intrusive. my Wife and i both started with seafood. Calamari dusted inn semolina, and fruits de mare. Follow by linguine fruits de mare and sea bass with calamari and prawns. All of which was very tasty and well worth the money. We shared a bottle of Merlot at £16.95, which i thought was a little expensive, but very enjoyable. Coffee followed and complimentary Limoncello. The bill was a reasonable £65 We shall return. well worth a visit.
It was a fantastic evening, we very much enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the very nice service. Thank you for this lovely Valentine's Evening!
Excellent restaurant, food was stunning and there was lots of it! We ended up taking our leftovers home. Reasonably priced and the service was brilliant
Only my second visit after recently discovering this gem. Beautiful food, great service, I would certainly recommend this to friends and family, thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Very good service, very helpful staff and quality of food was good too. The ambience wasn't great, it seemed like a radio playing it the kitchen, but that was the only criticism really.
Excellent food and a friendly service - good value for money! I would recommend this restaurant and I shall be visiting again in the near future
We went on a Saturday night and the restaurant was very busy. Food and service were faultless. Staff very pleasant nothing was too much trouble, will return
The food and wine was of a high standard and the service was good. Enjoyable evening was had by all. Good variety of choices on menu.
The decor was superb, the food even more so and the service was exceptional. I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning! :-)
Excellent service, delicious food and good value. Would definitely visit again and would recommend! We will be back to try some more of the yummy menu options.
Excellent menu choice, food arrived quickly and was served by friendly staff. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal, pasta to Sea Bass, cooked to a high standard. Good choice of wine. We all agreed to visit Emporio Maria again.
Food, service and cost were all fantastic. Definitely recommend this place.
Lovely place , food and friendly staff - will dedicatedly go back !
great meal as ever, although fillet steak was off, plenty of good choice on the menu. staff are always attentive, and the cocktails are ace!
Choose from the set lunch menu, the carrot soup was delicious and our main course was very good. We did not have desert choosing instead to have coffee to finish our meal. Very good and friendly service
Very nice reasonably priced meal with attentive service. Went at lunch time they have a special lunch menu with very good choice on offer. Will be going again for certain.
The restaurant is fairly small so not too full and noisy and the decor creates a cosy atmosphere great for a relaxed meal. The menu choice was good with more than just the typical Italian dishes. We had 3 courses and all were delicious. Portion sizes are rather large so make sure you leave room for the Tiramisu for dessert, highly recommended.
Excellent restaurant. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and very reasonable portions, I was very sad that I couldn't quite finish my main course! Will definitely visit again.
Very friendly waitress and food was nice. We would re visit
I don't have enough nice and kind things to say about our dining experience! The restaurant decor is lovely, there is a real feel of authenticity. When we arrived we were greeted with a warm smile and an eagerness to please from the off! Our waitress was kind and attentive without being too overbearing and nothing was too much trouble. Our waitress had an excellent knowledge of the wine list and the selection was excellent. We had the breads with oils as starters, we would have ordered two lots but were informed that they were a good portion size, so again showing customer service is paramount rather than taking our money. For my main I had the sea bass with the other sea food cooked along side it. The portion was incredible! The sea bass was cooked to perfection, succulent and tender. The seafood cooked with the sea bass were king prawns, mussels and squid - none of which were chewy or rubbery, just full of flavour! My girlfriend had the chicken and prawn in a rich chilli tomato creamy sauce which she described as scrumptious and after having a little sample I have to agree, the flavours were fantastic. All in all we had a real memorable night for all the right reasons and most importantly we left the restaurant with two beaming smiles. This is a real hidden little gem on the Harborne highstreet and if you get a chance you should definitely pay Emporio Maria a visit!
Great food and atmosphere. Absolutely loved it. Will definitely be going back!
Vgood service food outstanding quiet for friday night but very enjoyable
Lovely food, friendly service. Will definitely return. The restaurant is small but popular and I quite like that it is not big. Having been to Italy quite a few times and eaten in very small family run places off the tourist track, this is the closest you will get to a genuine, non stereotypical Italian restaurant.
went on a saturday night, with the other half. couldnt have been better great food great people, and really good cocktails. will be going again
It's easy to walk past the Emporio Maria, but I'm so glad we did'nt as the service and food are excellent. The food comes in generous portions and is reasonably priced, although the wine, in my opinion, is a little on the expensive side. All in all a very good restaurant, where the wife and I will definitely return to.
Friendly and attentive local Italian restaurant, although for us was let down on the food. Felt the ingredients were not of high quality and tasted a little strange. Had to send back my main, which had a chemical taste, waitress was very accommodating and professional. A shame as support should always go to independents restaurant, but on this occasion we just weren't impressed.
Very lovely resturant. The food was beautiful and very good choice even on the special valentines menu. Staff were friendly and attentive. Only downside as that there was a slightly long wait between courses but being valentines day I expect they were simply very busy
Visited here with my young nephew, early Saturday, lovely food, very friendly, attentive service and lovely and warm on a cold winters night. Caters for dairy free and gluten free diet as all food freshly prepared. Really nice experience.
The food was of great quality and reasonably priced. We had a lovely bottle of Chianti to go with it. The staff were were very attentive to both the adults and the children.
Great food and Maria is lovely. Cosy and nice atmosphere. Have been twice now and would recomend to anyone not wanting to go to yet another restraint chain...
Felt like we were rushed and because of this did not feel like we could relax and enjoy our time within the restaurant.considering we spent a substantial amount of money.
Food was taking a long time to arrive. My soup was lovely but the risotto I had as a main was very stodgy with chewy chicken. They don't accept card payments but luckily the cashpoint is just outside the restaurant.
As usual great food and wine. We went on last Friday night. After ordering our food we were told it is now cash only. Worth asking if you go there. There is a cashpoint next door. However it is a nice place to go. Normally on Friday it would be full. There were nine people dining. Never the less we had a lovely evening. Many thanks again.
Nice food. Average service. Disappointed as there was no tiramisu. Plenty of choice of different pasta and Italian food on the menu. Soft drinks expensive.
This place has always been a favourite of mine but sadly I did not feel the same warm experience this time. The woman who was managing the restaurant for the evening was far from welcoming & came across as abrupt & aggressive. The food was still good so that helped.
A fantastic experience. A real Italian family meal with great service. Great decor. Just make sure to arrive early to find a parking space on one of the side roads nearby
