Just delightful... friendly and knowledgeable staff who kindly recommended a delicious bottle of red. Tapas was tasty and there were plenty of dishes to choose from. The garlic mayonnaise was to die for! This was our second visit and we wouldn’t hesitate in returning!
Great food, friendly and efficient staff, attractive setting including outdoor seating. They change their menu regularly. Please note prawns are done in hot chilli sauce!
The cocktails at this restaurant are very good and the service is outstanding. The restaurant has a good out door space if it’s warm. I would recommend this restaurant to couples and anyone wanting a special meal for two.
This Spanish restaurant very close from my home, just 5 mins walk fist time visit, excellent service, nice food & good environment 👍Definitely will go again
Beautiful food and great service in a lively but relaxed atmosphere. This was our second visit and we will certainly be back again! We'll done!
A restaurant that offers a great envirnoment and service. Nice, authentic tapas and good selection of wines. The location is very good and parking is easy. Very friendly staff.
Lovely food and staff but the atmosphere was slightly lacking. It’s a very big space. I was glad to try it but probably wouldn’t be compelled to return.
Very good Spanish restaurant with typical Spanish food (I'm Spanish, believe me) and a good price. They usually have offers like 3x2 tapas on Sundays. I will definitely repeat soon.
the food is out of this world the scallops and black pudding are the best thing I’ve tasted in a long time, staff are brilliant great knowledge of the food and the wine will definitely be going back
Great meal with my family here last night. Service was excellent, food was so tasty & really good value also. Definitely coming back here again soon
Sorry but we could not hear ourselves think. We virtually had no conversation all night due to the loudness if the band We will not return again We were very disappointed
The tacos from low and slow take over we’re fantastic. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will certainly be going back.
Really great find - fab food, good live music and a nice, buzzing atmosphere. The range of tapas was excellent, and everything we tried was very tasty. Would definitely recommend.
Food was good. Only problem was that we have the Birmingham independent card which advertises that they do 20% discount on the food, when we paid they said they can't apply 2 offers in conjunction (as we went in the paella night and we have the paella and wine offer). We suggest that they amend and indicate that on the Birmingham independent website to avoid confusion.
The food was fantastic although we had paella for 4 and if we were very hungry we may have considered it a small portion. The desserts were amazing!! Drinks service was slow
AMAZING! on every level! food service ambience... one of the best! the food was so tasty we just ordering! An amazing evening and ill be going back very soon!
Pleasant professional welcome. We decided to have drinks at the bar due to our early arrival - lively atmosphere complemented by a duo playing guitar. We decided on a set meal option & were pleasantly surprised by the presentation, taste & quality - excellent waiter service. Look forward to visiting again.
I have been to El Borracho 3 times since Christmas and ever time has been excellent.ever one who I have taken will go back there.
A few friends met for tapas and we all enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Great selection of tapas and desserts and excellent service. I would recommend this restaurant for people who love Spanish food.
Lovely place decorated tastefully. Great food. Didn’t get a couple of items we ordered but we did order a lot. Would recommend and go again.d
Really friendly staff, fabulous food. Beer choice is a bit limited but plenty of choice on the wine list. Authentic feel about the place. Definitely worth a visit.
The food and the service was amazing, the only thing id advise is to check out parking before getting there as there is limited parking outside. We went to the Morrisons carpark and it was only a minute walk away
Nice food and service, the restaurant is beautifully decorated with Spanish details and they also organise events related to Spain. I definitely recommend it for couples and a group of friends.
Fantastic restaurant. The service is professional, prompt and courteous. The food? Well, if you can find better for the money you pay here, you have done VERY well. Can’t recommend enough
Food and drinks were lovely. Only complaint really is no chorizo....its a Spanish tapas restaurant, how can you not have chorizo? But that aside the other dishes we had we nice and friendly staff.
Beautiful food and surroundings. Staff were very friendly and willing to help. Bar supplies were good. Went at Xmas and they had made a real effort to make the restaurant feel festive. Wonderful tasting food. All staff were of Spanish origin, which helped. Great for kids.
Fabulous evening with family to celebrate my wife's birthday - food was excellent, service was excellent, atmosphere was excellent, musical entertainment an added bonus bravo.
Like the varied menu and that everything tastes so fresh. The two dishes for £7.50 was really good value and a bonus just before Christmas. Waiters were attentive but not intrusive. Very chilled out atmosphere.
I absolutely love this place! The food is amazing and authentic, the staff are so helpful and attentive and the drinks are divine. It has a great atmosphere and even has a guy playing guitar. If you come here you won’t be disappointed
Service was slow and the food was not the best. Desserts had to be sent back as they were dry. There was no party atmosphere.
The restaurant is really nice and I love that they serve tapas as in Spain. However, the prices are maybe bit too high for tapas and drinks like Sangria and some of the tapas weren't that good, considering the price.
An awesome experience with fantastic food, good live music and a cosy atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that has the slightest desire to experience Tapas at the best Birmingham can offer.
Will definitely return. Lovely food, atmosphere, service and price. Really friendly woman welcomed us when we arrived and had a nice chat before bringing us to our table. Really set the tone
The food was delicious and the service excellent. If you're Spanish or have been to Spain, you'll appreciate the variety of dishes from different regions of Spain.
Fantastic atmosphere and food to match - could have been in Spain! Highly recommended....you will not be disappointed. I will definitely be returning as many more tapas dishes to experience!
Great independent restaurant with excellent service. Lovely atmosphere with a real sense of Spanish authenticity Food was amazing for both meat eaters and vegetarians and very reasonable prices.
Everything was fantastic - food, drinks, atmosphere and service. The five of us had a fabulous afternoon birthday lunch for my friend and we can't wait to return!
Friendly cheerful staff. Lovely, lively atmosphere with live music on a Saturday evening. Good variety of food to suit both meat eaters and vegetarian diners. Portion sizes plentiful.
The welcome to the restaurant was really friendly. We were given plenty of time to choose our food and drink and all was delicious. Atmosphere was really chilled, really authentic. Will definitely return and recommend highly
We were a party of 4. We chose 3 tapas meals each plus a small meat selection to share, wines and beers. All the food was delicious and served very promptly. I can't fault anything during this visit and will be back again.
A lovely tapas restaurant that was relatively quiet on arrival but a few more diners arrived whilst we were there. Very friendly & attentive waiters. Food was delicious although we had ordered from the Tues special menu so found the portioned quite small in comparison to food that was ordered by other diners from the main menu from what we could see... Dessert was the only thing that let it down really, churros with a thick hot choc dipping pot, not very thick and the churros were far too crispy... Other than that a great evening...
Fabulous authentic cuisine as always. Cannot fault the food. My favourite tapas destination! Went as a group of 4 with visiting friends. A delightful night and perfect atmosphere.
Very nice food. Lovely staff. Great evening. Price wasn't bad either. The decor is like an authentic spanish home with spanish staff and chefs. Would visit again.
Excellent quality of food, definitely the best tapas I have eaten. Live music was fun and the restaurant's atmosphere was brilliant. I also really like that the restaurant was open and spacious.
Me and my boyfriend booked a table at 7.30pm on a Thursday night. The food was lovely but the waiting staff could've been more attentive. Food service was a little slow considering we were the only people in there.
Good food, decent service, nice selection of wine and reasonably priced. Worth a visit. The paella wasn't that great but the tapas was a really good selection.
Excellent meal and atmosphere - very authentic feel - we unfortunately arrived late however his was not a problem to the restaurant and at no time did we feel rushed - food and wine was excellent and service was very good with staff very knowledgeable about the dishes and able to meet dietary requirements also. Probably one of the best Tapas we have had outside of Spain - would definitely recommend and return.
El Borracho de Oro offers lovely food, a good range of drinks and a good atmosphere. We would visit here again for a quiet meal or a night out with friends.
We requested a reservation at 12.15pm and was told we couldn't have one until 12.30pm but when we arrived there were only two tables taken! The service was way too slow and we were embarrassed as we had taken clients there for a Christmas meal and had to leave before we would have liked in order to get back to a meeting. It wasn't busy so don't understand why it was so slow.
Busy due to Christmas parties but the food and service were excellent. Not cheap but the quality was very good. Three tapas dishes suited us fine as mains after olives and bread to start.
