Drum & Monkey - Harrogate

Impeccable service and attention to detail. Excellent food - the lemon sole was divine.

Would have been perfect with a little sauce on the main course. Both my daughter and I had the hake and felt exactly the same.

So much choice of delicious fish dishes and very good service.

Second visit to drum and monkey, first time was excellent, second time was even better! Cosy semi formal setting but with a really easy going friendly atmosphere. Good choice of wines and food fantastic.

Old fashioned, slightly odd little place. Average age of diner 60+. Service good and food nice but straight out of the 1970s.

Lobster, sea trout and John Dory were all delicious. The only negative was the rhubarb crumble which flavour wise was lovely but the topping wasn't very crumbly.

Staff were friendly, knowledgable and attentive without being obtrusive. A wide variety of fish dishes to choose from. The fish soup was worthy of a special mention, it was excellent. A calm, peaceful environment made for a wonderful lunch.

The restaurant got very busy towards the end of our meal and therefore became rather noisy. The food was very good and the waiting times between courses was just right. We will definitely go back sometime.

I love fish so to go there for my birthday surprise was lovely. One of best restaurants I have ever been to. Would go in heart beat. 10/10 for everything.

We enjoyed some excellent food and service on this long established Harrogate gem. We have intended to visit for a long time and now that we have will certainly be back soon!

Fantastic service, couldn’t fault any aspect of our lunch. There was a huge variety of amazing seafood on the menu and the food we had (queen scallops, sea bass and sea trout) was absolutely delicious. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Lovely food, service ok but a bit disappointing, some background music and pouring of the wine/champagne would have been appreciated, it’s the little things that are noticeable

Excellent service and all courses were delicious .We ordered from the main menu and shared a large order of scallops to start followed by two orders of hake .Everything was beautifully cooked .Am local and haven't been for years but will definitely return .

Great reception on arrival,seated straight away even though we were early,food and drink were fantastic,and food came swiftly and hot,would not hesitate to go back again in a blink. Thank you to the staff who looked after .

The food was delicious especially the Garlic Lobster. Good choice of wine. But the waiter was quite rude. We asked for the warm wine to be chilled and he was quite obnoxious with our request!!!!

Totally delicious as always and lovely portions of food Very attentive waiting by staff. My only gripe is the tables. They are very small and as a result sitting next to your dinner companion can be a bit uncomfortable.

Excellent food as always. Fairly slow service although we weren’t too bothered. One order was wrong but we didn’t mind - other people might !

Traditional setting and great atmosphere in lovely area of town. Huge array of fishy classics. Some dishes a little tired and definitely summer berries in winter berry pudding. . Enjoyed it and wine list hit the spot

I treated my wife for lunch on Valentines Day. We were given the window table we requested, we had great service and a delicious meal. So the restaurant was everything we wanted for Valentines Day and we will definitely go again.

First time here and loved it. Food was fantastic and the service was great. Definitely somewhere I’d recommend and will be going back again. Can’t fault it.
