Drum & Monkey - Harrogate

Extensive menu choices, delicious food, quite expensive and smaller portions than one would hope but very good quality. Only let down by a female member of staff that we noticed eating some potatoes from a customers meal before serving them there food which we thought was a bit sad really. Eating paying customers food is odd but maybe she was quality control. Haha.

An old family haunt: every opportunity to be back is an opportunity worth taking.

Something must be done about the carpet ; it is dirty and smelly(greasy) The food was very good but perhaps under the heat lamp a little too long? Can’t fault the staff working with what they have.

Fabulous food, service good. The only disappointed was the extremely noisy baby that an inconsiderate couple thought it was OK to bring to the restaurant in the evening. The service staff however were very apologetic.

On top of its game. We visit perhaps twice a year and this was excellent throughout.

If you like fish then you can't do much better than the Drum & Monkey - well cooked food and good value and the staff were lovely.

Had our usual set course lunch. Excellent food as usual. Good service from our waitress. Too quick to take our drinks order from the other one. Eastern European we think. Otherwise a pleasant unrushed lunch.

Ditch the dirty carpet! Queenies OK, fish pie a real disaster, but was taken off the bill, have been going to this restaurant for thirty years, moved away twelve years ago , thought it would be a great memory rekindled, so wrong, never again

Not been for over 20 years to this great Harrogate institution and it was fantastic! Exquisite fish dishes and wine list, with great service made it feel very special.

Eating out at "The Drum" is always a great pleasure

I went with my daughter on our visit to Harrogate she loves fish but her husband doesn't which was why we booked & went, neither of us were disappointed, we were greeted with a warm welcome, menu had everything you could want, wine menu was perfect for the food, everything freshly cooked & tasted amazing, it is small but as they say 'perfectly formed' I would recommend anybody to go if they are visiting Harrogate.

First time back for many years but well worth it. Fabulous food and very attentive management and staff

Last time it was excellent, but this time we were a bit disappointed as the Dover sole we had were not fresh and they should not have served it .

Friday lunch at the Drum - a perfect way to start the bank holiday weekend. Food was first class and David, our waiter, was simply fantastic. Fish soup, Mackerel, Lobster thermidor and Trout were perfect. We will be going back!

We had an early meal because we were attending a conference at the Conference Centre. We had been told that we could have a special offer because we were at the Conference Centre. The restaurant knew nothing about this so we didn't get the deal but enjoyed the meal anyway.

I have been to the Drum and Monkey on many occasions over the past 20+ years. Always received the same attentive service by the staff and superb food. The visit was accompanied by beautiful sunny weather which made the experience even better. I have recommended the ‘Drum’ to friends and can report that they enjoy the venue as much as I.

Went for the fresh tasty seafood and not disappointed! A feast of prawns, crab, scallops and an oyster in lovely warm garlic butter. Delicious!
