Nice food overall, clearly a popular restaurant as we had to wait about 10-15 mins for a table despite booking one for a certain time which was quite annoying.
good value, authentic southern Italian food, with cosy atmosphere! bit of confusion with our booking at the start which led to a long waiting time, but we didn't mind as it allowed us to take time over dinner! totally recommend the calzone. only negative the table behind us was SO loud, made it difficult to sustain conversation in the end,
Highly recommended! For an italian in London, the best place to eat the real italian pizza. I have not yet tested the restaurant, but i will be back for sure.
Lovely authentic Italian restaurant only a short walk from Clapham Junction station. Perfect for a romantic evening. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for really tasty Italian food.
A little cold if it's quite empty, but the food is amazing. Best Italian food I've ever had in London and staff very nice. Totally recommended it.
Lively restaurant, pizza's are close to those you can find in Naples. Love the authenticity. Oh & the Tiramisu is to die for, would go again just for that!!
Donna Margherita is special - no doubt about it. The authentic cooking was way above the norm. Ordering our meal was a pleasure. Suggestions for wine and food were helpful and accurate rather than just encouraging you to spend a bit more money. Didn't want to leave!
The perfect Neapolitan restaurant. It just happens to be up the road from Clapham Junction in London. Amazing food, incredible pizza bases and an outstanding ranger of wine.
Visited here as a party of 9 and the staff we very accommodating & welcoming. The service was excellent service & the food was delicious!
I thought the service was excellent, the atmosphere buzzing and the food authentic. Only criticism was there was only one chicken dish on the menu.
Had a brilliant night in a group of eight at Donna Margharita. Excellent pizzas, very good wine list and superb service. The waiters made us very welcome and really added to the atmosphere of the night. Would highly recommend.
Awesome pizza. Service was great. Try to get a table on the terrace... Can't pre book but get there early and you should be fine.
Fantastic Italian food and great experience. Donna Margherita has got many original and typical choices from the Italian cuisine at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.
Friendly service throughout our visit and the food was excellent. It is rare to find Italian food that doesn't taste mass produced and our experience at Donna Margherita was of authentic Italian cooking.
Great and friendly service, brillient food and wine, fantastic little place that feels like you're in your favourite neibourhood. I can recommend it to everyone!
Lovely, friendly atmosphere and good food. Pizza was good and staff even played with my son to entertain him. They brought his food straight away so he didn't have to wait. Will go back
Overall a very good meal. The service was speedy & helpful but not in your face and the pizza was good, very tasty. After reading a positive article about the restaurant we werent let down and look forward to coming back in the future.
Whilst this restaurant may be away from the London Tourist trail it was well worth the £9 taxi fare to get there. Food is superb, portions really generous and the staff very friendly and helpful. We sat in a part of the restaurant that gives the feeling of being outside. We had doughballs and olives to start followed by pizza. No room for a dessert. Washed down with some Chianti. The atmosphere is great with traditional Italian music in the background. Thanks to all.
Once again, another great time at Donna Margherita - delicious food, great service & atmosphere. Highly recommended for lovers of good Italian food and wine.
Good portions found food a bit oily. Service attentive. Useful place to eat if going to battersea arts centre which is just across the road
Arrived on a Monday evening and glad we had pre booked as it was packed out. The food was very good and there was a nice atmosphere (although it was quite cosy as the tables are close together). Food prices were very reasonable although I thought the house wine was a bit over priced. Would definitely return again.
Food was geeat, so the atmosphere. The service might be a bit faster, but overall everything went amoothly. Oh, don't settle on the mains only, the desserts are outstanding!
Excellent food. Unfortunately service was not to par on that night.
what a lovely experience - great food and good service. I will definitely visit the restaurant again. Easily one of the best places in ages.
Great Pizza and wide variety of choices, both in terms of wine and food. It is in a good location and has friendly atmosphere! I am definitely going back!
Nice food, but waiters were too busy watching football on tv (Italy was playing) and service suffered as a result. Might go again some other time.
Great food! Brilliant and friendly service. It was our first visit - despite this we were treated like long lost relatives, a lovely welcome that continued throughout the evening.
Really fantastic food with quality ingredients. Very friendly staff & enjoyable atmosphere. Great evening, looking forward to going back to explore more of the tasty menu soon.
Nice location and menu for an easy pre-race day evening meal. Staff were clearly putting everything into their service and our food arrived in good time.
Our food experience was lovely, and the ambiance was joyful all around us. However the service attitude changed instantly when we only ordered soft drinks, as if we were not spending enough. We would come back but purely because of the good food. Maybe the service had an off day, but it would of been nice to have a check back in the in the time we where there.
Excellent!! Great food, customer service was very good. Location and ambiance amazing!! I would most definite recommend this place to friends. Come with an empty stomach.
The food and atmosphere was nothing shirt of fantastic. Staff are very friendly and informative and happy to recommend wine and food depending on your preference. My girlfriend went for pizza on recommendations from others and I went for the lamb ragus special both of which were delightful. Topped off by a pearl tart to share we were happily stuffed. Will be bringing friends here in the very near future.
Best pizzas in London! Service is generally quite good and one of the waiters is always joking with my daughters, which they really appreciate. Recommend it!
We went to Donna Margherita for an early dinner for my husband's birthday before going to another event at 8pm. We ordered main courses from the specials menu given to us by the waiter. The waiter then returned to ask whether my husband would be happy to substitute boar for lamb in his dish, as the chef didn't have any lamb available. We said this was fine. Our starter of dough balls, which was lovely, came and went. Other diners who had arrived after us had already finished their main courses and yet ours had not arrived. An hour after we first arrived we asked a waiter to check on our mains, as we were very short on time. He first came back to ask use whether we had eaten them?! He checked again with the chef and returned to say that because we had ordered from the previous day's special menu (given to us by the waiter, and presumably with the knowledge of the chef, since we were asked about substituting the lamb) the chef hadn't cooked our food! Without asking what we would like to do, the waiter went off to ask the chefs to cook us the dishes we had ordered, but by this stage we didn't have time to wait and we asked another waiter to cancel the order. Now extremely hungry and running late, we were getting ready to leave when the waiter returned with the bill. Having waited for well over an hour for food we were being charged for the dough balls and one drink each. When we politely expressed our discontent the waiter began to argue with us. After some time we realised an impasse had been reached and we asked to see the manager, who was reluctantly fetched. The manager asked what the problem was and was sympathetic. He apologised for the mistake with the food and immediately cancelled the bill. The little food we ate was lovely, but the service was appalling. We understand that mix-ups happen. However, we were left extremely stressed, running for a train and hungry -- not quite the birthday treat we had anticipated.
Probably One of best pizzas have tasted outside Italy, starters and deserts were also very good! Overall was very reasonably priced and would defiantly recomend.
Tasty food and good prices. Friendly staff but a bit too nervous although they all are Italians so I guess it's normal. Good location too. Remember to book your table in advance as it's quite busy there.
Still love this place, have been coming for years. Authentic local Italian.
Bustling ambience. Attentive and engaging staff and service. Italian was the predominant language indicating authenticity of the cuisine. Some of customers were also Italian which is a good sign.
What to say about Donna Margherita... I've lived around the corner for almost a year and always noticed how it seemed to have a good steady trade regardless of the day of the week. I never tried it myself until last week and now I know why it's always busy - Food was delicious, service was good & the Puglian red wine suggested by our server was delightful and relatively reasonably priced- Top marks all round!
Great atmosphere, lovely food and wine, just a shame we had to wait over an hour for our food. (It was a busy Friday night)
it was a very nice place, we had good food, the wine selection was wide and diverse and we found a good atmosphere. recommended 100%
Amazing! Best Italian restaurant in London! They use high quality ingredients and it really makes the difference. Staff are friendly and accommodating, and the food really is nothing short of perfection.
Proper Neapolitan restaurant and pizzeria in the heart of battersea! Amazing experience! Food and pizza well prepared. Traditional Neapolitan food and receipts landed in South west of London!
The pizza was great but I do think we paid way too much. We were in 4 adults and 4 kids and we ordered: 4 pizzas, 3 pastas, 5 desserts, 2 amaro lucano, 3 small water 1 bottle of prosecco( I presume was not more then £10) 1 beer we paid £200. This is more then Fratelli La Bufala in Piccadilli.
Great food, friendly people, good value, go there! We had 3 pasta dishes and a desert, all of which were really nice. Some of the other food coming out for other people also looked good, especially the pizza.
Restaurant was excellent the staff were very friendly and the food was very good would go again and recommend to friends for a good night out
Love this place, it is my go-to restaurant in Clapham Junction. The food is always excellent and the staff always super helpful. Highly recommended. The Pizzas are fabulous, especially cold the next day!
Amazing pizza and pasta, very friendly staff and great atmosphere. You can tell that is a true italian restaurant run by true italian people. I'll definitely go back soon
Amazing! The staff were absolutely fantastic. We keep going back. Have been for 4 times and bring all our friends everytime. Love the place! X
Good quality food, great pizza Neapolitan style Great pastiera typical Neapolitan desert with ricotta and wheat grains Overall a great experience, try to avoid Saturday night as very busy
