My parents were visiting from Italy and I thought that Donna Margherita could be the right place for them. Actually, they loved the place, rigorously in Italian style and tables with cotton napkins. We ate pizza and it was delicious! We could see other dishes and they looked really tasty too! People were friendly and smiley! Absolutely worth to go!!!
Good food and a nice atmosphere. The buffalo mozzarella was especially good. I'd definitely go back but would hope the service was a little better.
Food was good, tempura prawns are fried in their shell. Absolute nightmare! Didn't know what rum was. Asked for gin and tonic but received gin and soda water 🙈 We ate and we left.
The food was nice and reasonably priced. There was an issue with a side dish which was sent back and the replacement never brought out. Also, they only gave bread and plates to one half of the table until prompted to acknowledge the additional 5 people. There was one member of staff who was quite abrupt and at one point whacked me in the arm after leaning over me to put something on the table with no acknowledgement or apology.
I've been already 4th time and everything tastes amazing . I didn't want to change Calzone it's my favourite dish I invite different people at Donna Margarita all the time
Everything was ok- food was good. But service was really slow- we waited 2 min at front to be seated- and when we did- it took ages to someone to come and take our order.
Great authentic Italian. Lovely staff and delicious food - could not fault it . We had the tasting menu which was very good value, great coffee too.
Great food and great experience. The waiters were very attentive, daughter who is very fussy eater was able to order a unique meal to her wihes
Great food. Lobster spaghetti was really good! Sat outside which was perfect with the hot weather. We will go again and recommend it to friends.
The dishes I chose were simply delicious and tasty, especially the salmon cooked in foil. I would definitely recommend this Italian restaurant, along with friendly staff.
We had a delicious meal and very good red wine (amazing pasta and risotto) here with excellent service before the moonwalk. We would Highly recommend this restaurant.
A super-authentic Napolitan (and I mean Napolitan, not Italian!) restaurant and good value. Very attentive waiting staff - maybe a bit to keen to get our orders much of the time. A couple had poor English but my Italian friend sorted that problem. Very interesting range on menu although not always easy to decipher the Google-translate versions of the Italian dialect writing! Excellent ingredients, tasty meals and quick service. Tiramisu a bit dry and not enough Amaretto for my personal taste, mushroom pasta very tasty indeed, my slided meat/cheese selection started was huge. Not many wines by the glass but what there was, was excellent. Felt very authentic sitting in the canopied trattoria section and they had heaters too. Interior decor was a bit stark and all very open and cafeteria-like. The restaurant is a good 10 minute walk from any rail/tube stations but it is worth the effort for a true taste of southern Italy.
Visited on Mon 8th May 2017. Arrived at 18:00 and had the pleasure of being greeted by Massimo. This gentleman was so full of passion for the food that came from his colleagues kitchen at instantly made us feel welcome. The food, atmosphere, drinks and company were great! Highly recommended.
Amazing food, value for money, service, hospitality. Will definitely visit again. Thank you for the great experience. The degustation menu was incredible. See you soon!
Great local spot. The service was good, the food was excellent. Lovely ambience, too. I had the buffala mozzarella to start with the bruschetta - both were super flavourful and delicious. My pasta was a special, and I really enjoyed it (can't go wrong with homemade pasta!). For dessert, I had the tiramisu, which was excellent. Can't wait to come back and try the pizzas!
Nothing special The starter are overpriced and the service was not so great! One starter, two pizzas and two beers cost 52 pounds. The door was left opened and all the cigarettes smoke came inside.. There are better pizzas and better service!
Disappointed. We'd heard good things about this place but it was very average over all. We ate carbonara and chicken with salad and chips. Both were very uninteresting - salad was limp and there were 10 chips on the plate. Tiramisu was bland. However, the wine was good, staff ok, and the pizzas looked great, so if you're going to eat there try the pizzas first.
Great athmosphere and great pizzas however the gnocci little disappointing, way too much flouer in it. Loved the conollo. Chocolate cake yssted a few days old.
I love this place. Authentic, amazing Italian food at fairly reasonable prices. It's a great atmosphere, very buzzy with Italian waiters rushing around every where!
Great food - but wanted table back after 1 hr 45mins. We arrived 15 mins late which made it 1:30 ! We had to have coffee elsewhere.
Service was really slow. 2 and a half hours for starter and main, plus the waiter spilt water all over my dress and did not apologise!!
Loved the place and the yummy food ❤️😋❗ First time there , been recommended by a friend and she was 100%right ❗ Will definitely coming back 😊❗
Food was excellent. The serving on on the set menu (20 pound per person) was a bit small. It would have been better if the main, which was a seafood pasta, could be bigger.
The waiters were distracted in the kitchen. We had to go into the kitchen to find someone. The food wasn't as good as I expected it would be and the waiter didn't put our 20% discount on the bill until we prompted and then asked us to discuss ourselves.
Great food, super friendly service and a relaxed environment. There are not many authentic Italian places like this left in London. We will definitely be back!
The food was good, service was very very poor. When we arrived we were promptly told that the restaurant was having a very busy Monday night before being seated and not to expect quick service. A table arrived after us but were given their food first, when my colleague said that we were ready for our mains the waiter berated him, almost shouting, repeating that he was having a busy night. My wife also attempted to buy a bottle of champagne in secret, as a surprise to the rest of the party but the waiter just looked at her and loudly said 'I'll get a bottle of brut then'. My wife also asked for the champagne to be put on a separate bill but this did not happen and with the service and attitude from the waiter she refused to follow this up. I cannot recommend this restaurant after this experience.
Great service and the food was lovely - the waiter also recommended a lovely, not too pricey wine - a local gem, will definitely return!
Good service and okay food but not outstanding. Dishes a bit pricey but plenty of variety. Not in a rush to return to this restaurant
Donna Margherita has always been a landmark in London for a good Italian meal. I hadn't been there in years and I have to say that even though the service is always great and very friendly the variety of food is probably not as good as it used to be. I also found the place very dark for lunch. Overall it's always a pleasant experience and will be back in the near future.
It was our first experience here and we wished to try the pizza, that we expected to be truly Neapolitan style. Our expectation wasn't disappointed at all, since it was one of the best pizzas around the town, really challenging the ones you may taste in Italy (and in Napoli itself). We are sure we'll come back to try some of the several temptations offered in the menu.
Lovely meal. Great quality of food , just missing a little bit of salt in the pasta and slightly overcooked fish but nice experience. Delicious dessert. We'll come back
Perfect, as always. Great service and atmosphere. As a Neapolitan there isn't much to ask for a London pizza to be honest. They have managed to accomodate our needs at their best - great place to watch Napoli, too!
Lovely little restaurant in Clapham. Friendly staff and the food was lovely, especially the meatballs starter. Good quality food and well cooked. Would recommend and
The food delicious, the service excellent. It was the first time, in three years I'm living in London that I ate a Pizza in as is done inItaly. I would like thanks a lot Gabriele the owner and Emilio a very friendly waiter.
I can't believe the good reviews on this place. I had great hope! Food is below average and the atmosphere is not great either. I was hoping for a nice traditional homemade Italian food with no pretentiousness to it and this did not meet expectations. Overpriced favourless food with probably low quality ingredients.
Very attentive and courteous staff. My friend had a question about her dish (after it had been made) and the waiters were more than willing to explain the ingredients and even asked her opinion on how to describe the dish in the future. My food was delicious. Recommended!
Excellent customer service , great food and amazing environment to have a romantic dinner. The staff were very polite and the establishment was very well decorated and confortable.
Great authentic Italian food in a small and busy setting. Every dish that came out of the kitchen looked delicious, looking forward to re visiting.
Good food, generous portions. Nice ambience. Service thoughtful a bit on the slow side. Interesting dishes though not as Neapolitan as they make out, chips served with dips?! No ci credo!
Great food and great service. We had the tasting menu. Was very good. Especially the aubergine starter and the pizza margarita. Will definitely go back.
Food was fab. I had pizza - reviews rated it and the reviews were right. Friends had pasta and thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely go again!
great traditional italian food. not the same boring dish like many other places. the burrata was amazing and the wine card is real perfect and not to expensive
Fantastic food and host! Pizzas to die for. Very special place... we will be back when in area again. A real gem. Thank you all ..
Lovely, traditional food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. A little bit pricey for the food and wine but nonetheless I would definitely eat here again.
Perfect Italian food and marvellous wine as always. Additionally the Sunday set menu is trendous value for three courses. Possibly the best Neopolitan restaurant in Great Britain
great food great atmosphere, pizza is one of the best in town, also good wine list and a great selection of starters and pasta dishes
lovely place, lovely people! always good to spend an evening there. kind words, fantastic food, and Italiaaaaaan language. I look forward going back there! cheers
Excellent home made authentic food with friendly staff. Was a little quiet as we were there very early before going to a concert. The ravioli specials were particularly good.
Nice food overall, clearly a popular restaurant as we had to wait about 10-15 mins for a table despite booking one for a certain time which was quite annoying.
great place, authentic Italian people (I am Italian...). Pizza is very good and the service is nice. The place is also nice and characteristic. Highly recommended.
