Service was slower than expected. Restaurant was busy and we were a large party, but we had to wait a long time for the food to be brought.
This place offers a it's visitors a menu with some interesting choices of well presented, good quality food, served with great customer care and attention.
The food and service at Diya are not to be equalled in Winchester, excellent!! The chef here is fantastic, great quality ingredients, all dishes are so fresh with a great balance of spices in each!! Front of house are really friendly, without being too over enthusiastic! Our favourite Indian restaurant in Hampshire!!
Great evening! The service was excellent...attentive without being over-powering. The food was delicious and not over-priced. The atmosphere was relaxed and we weren't rushed. We will be going again.
Great service and delicious food. Definitely go back when we’re in the area again. Food was fresh and not at all oily, like some curry’s can be. Willing to accommodate your needs and variations to dishes.
Lovely food, had to wait for a table but the service was still very attentive, and they gave free drinks. All in all very friendly and good value.
As usual very friendly and efficient service. I had a Jalfrezi and requested extra heat, next time I will ask for a "little" extra heat. Great food.
Staff and food all very good, busy restaurant but plenty of time for us. Staff and food all very good, busy restaurant but plenty of time for us.
Lovely meal. Great food and very friendly service. We were tempted to order too much food and they gently advised us not too, so we had just the right amount in the end, so great value too.
A warm welcome from fabulous staff who made our evening very special. Fantastic food and can recommend the Chicken Diya! Thank you so much! :)
Excellent meal and service, good value. The recommended goat curry was superb - lean, tender, flavoursome. The dessert menu is disappointing - 'food service refrigerator'-type rather than Indian desserts/puddings.
The staff were warm and friendly and really put a lot of effort into our dining experience. The food was delicious; one of the best Indians I've had in a while. I would highly recommend a visit. I definitely will be paying them another visit in the future.
The best Indian I've been to in years...Cool interior, not like your typical Indian restaurant. The food was exceptional. No processed junk and full of favour. You can see the chefs at work at the rear of the establishment. The service was perfect, polite and friendly. Definitely worth a visit!!
Excellent service and great food.Very adventurous menu and very good value for money. Would certainly go again and highly recommend to my friends and colleagues
Excellent service and lovely food, with a good variety of specialist dishes with a local twist - one of the best Indian / Asian restaurants we have been to for a long time.
Great service food excellent best ever bhajis everything tasted fresh and light and good value look out for the goat and buffalo dishes and some interesting starters.
An interesting menu and great food together with excellent service meant that my friends and I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Well worth a visit.
From the first time we visited Diya we have been met with smiles and good service... the food is excellent, the staff and chef really care that you enjoy your food... have been again and again and never disappointed
Excellent food and really friendly service, our first visit to this restaurant but look forward to eating here again. Menu includes interesting choices (curry with chocolate as an ingredient was delicious!) alongside all the favourites (sag aloo was best I've tasted).
Fantastic food and great service. The kitchen staff managed to get our order wrong by mixing up my vindaloo water buffalo curry with my sons' garlic chilli chicken! My son ploughed on through and finished his super spicy chicken and they cooked another water buffalo dish for me - hotter by far this time! My wife was rapturous about her goat curry and the food was delicious. I've no doubt we'll be back!
Love this new addition to Winchester. Amazing food, top quality ingredients, flavours and service. Even our 9yr old has declared best restaurant in town! Congrats Team Diya!
Great staff and food. Slight delay on one of our parties main coming out which had us all waiting, otherwise a very enjoyable evening was had by all.
The best Indian food I have had for a long time . Would like to see Indian sweets or rice pudding on the menu instead of commercial ice cream deserts. Food all very fresh beautifully presented. Staff helpful and no problems getting wheelchair in. We will be going again
Lovely meal, lovely staff and lovely setting. Really enjoyed the evening and not too expensive, not cheap but as food was excellent, very good value. Will be going again.
Excellent food, service and value. The mixed and vegetarian starters were exceptional as was the goat curry and the paratha the best I have tasted outside of India. I highly recommend Diya.
Excellent in all respect, warm welcome, enticing and varied menu which lived up to its expectations. A must to visit when you are in Winchester.
Given that Winchester already has many excellent Indian restaurants (e.g. nearby Gandhi), you might think this was a risky venture. However, I have been here twice now and the food is excellent (more than makes up for the sad loss of the Bengal Sage), and the service is exceptional. If you've not been, try it out!
Lovely warm welcome, but the food was nothing to get excited about. Some interesting choices on the menu - this isn't just bog-standard curries - but there just wasn't any real wow factor to the dishes we ordered.
Excellent food and service. Only slight negative was volume of chatter, possible amplified by restaurant acoustics. This was our second visit - will definitely return.
Went for dinner here on Friday night, lively and busy, head waiter was very friendly and helpful, food was delicious. Only minor criticism was the time it took for mains to arrive, but not unexpected at such a busy time. Great place.
Excellent service and outstanding food. A visit to Diya is a must if you enjoy fine Indian food. Our second visit to this restaurant - and certainly will not be the last.
The dining might be small as it became a little bit crowded as more people came to fill their bellies but the welcome is big. Lovely staff, the food is really nice and affordable.
Excellent, from the greeting at the door, to the exit everything was perfect, the staff, the food, the level of attentiveness. The food was lovely and the venue was very nice, will definitely go back.
At Diya last night for a birthday celebration. We had a great family meal with really friendly service, Other reviews led some of us had to try the Goat from the specials and we weren't disappointed. Would definitely go again.
What a delightful evening. Read the reviews beforehand and it certainly lived up to expectations. Great service and the goat curry was amazing! Will definitely be back for a second visit 😊
Superb Indian food and service, the 'Cricket team' curry was excellent. Made to feel very welcome by all the staff, cant be a better Indian restaurant in the City?
Amazing food, extremely tasty the goat literally melted in my mouth it was that tender, great service. Highly reccomend will definitely be back for another visit.
