Food and service was excellent, will go back for sure

Lovely meal as always - food is consistently good. I had the Salad of Cumbrian Goats Cheese, followed by the Roast Breast of Goosnargh Duck, and finished off with the Lemon & Ginger Cheesecake and coffee. All very tasty, and the portion sizes are about right so you are neither overwhelmed, nor left feeling hungry. Recommended.

Wonderful food, the duck was delicious and the haddock scotch egg starter was so tasty. A lovely meal to celebrate our 54 wedding anniversary! Thank you

We enjoyed an excellent lunch served in first class surroundings. We would thoroughly recommend for a 'treat' for someone special. Vouchers are available so make a super gift.

The whole meal was faultless. Steak melted in your mouth and the cheesecake was to die for. We have never had a bad meal here

We had a lovely evening at this busy restaurant where the welcome was enthusiastic and matched by the service and cuisine. Chris and his team know about flavour and our king scallop starters and my fillet steak, and Maggie’s venison were an absolute delight- some complicated cooking here, well executed. The wine list was interestin too with a good selection of well chosen bottles. Whenever we return to Carlisle we’ll definitely head back to Davids Restaurant!

Another fantastic meal in this lovely fine dining restaurant, it never disappoints. So pleased the venison is back on the menu, my personal favourite. Will be back!

Outstanding cuisine, exemplary service, superb ambience, a restaurant of the highest international standards and quality. The dishes we ordered were excellent with high quality ingredients and superbly cooked. The wine list is comprehensive with some very original vintages. All in all an excellent dining experience.

Fabulous meal in serene settings, attentive staff. All four of us tried something different from the menu and none of us were disappointed. Definitely be back.

Fantastic food with fantastic service the fillet of beef was cooked to perfection followed by Oreo cookie with home made raspberry ripple ice cream which was delicious and perfectly presented would highly recommend David's

We have been to Davids on many prior occasions, and as always the food was superb. I had the beef, which was wonderful. No need to have changed the knife to a proper steak knife, a plastic one would have cut through the meat like butter! And the souffle starter should not be missed. Highly recommended. Service professional and friendly. Already looking forward to our next visit. An absolute jewel among Carlisle eateries. Thank you Davids.

Great food ,the restaurant was lovely cant beat it ,but drinks a bit pricey ,ie the tia mira coffee and the brandy but otherwise worth a vist

The service was faultless and our main meals were amazing. We felt a bit out of the way in the choice of seating and had an issue with the pudding.

We were a party of four who booked for my sons birthday,Lovely food and good service as always. We will be booking again soon when the new menu is out.

Excellent meal! Everything we had was fantastic. We just finished hiking along Hadrian's Wall and this was the perfect place to celebrate. We really enjoyed it!

Delicious meal we both had the fillet of Lakeland beef knife cut through it like butter . Only downside no room for dessert. Somewhere to go for a special occasion. We will be back .

Lovely food in a refined , traditional setting. Good service . Excellent seasonal menu. Good value for money. Starter and main were delicious but dessert ( lemon and ginger cheesecake ) was average hence 5 not 6 marks.

Great welcome from the team. Owners Chris and Emily greeted us personally and remembered it was our anniversary as we had our silver there last year. Food was amazing and was no trouble when I asked for a cheese souffle for my sweet as well as starter. Lovely surroundings very warm and friendly. Can not praise them all enough. Interesting menu, - our meals were well presented and tasted as good as they looked. Decent wine list at realistic prices. Good value overall and recommended as a lunch venue in Carlisle (there is much competition though).
