Never had a bad experience at this restaurant. The maitre’ds/greeters at this place have been consistently good in the 10+ years I have been coming here and so has the food . It’s why I keep coming back.

Cote is consistently reliable good professionally served. It's the only chain that manages to avoid the feeling of being a chain.

My wife and I decided on the Valentine menu, smoked salmon, prawn gratine, and fillet steaks finished off with the hazelnut and grand mariner truffles for two. We both agreed this was the best meal we have had in Cote, and we have had quite a few over the years. The only downside was no complimentary glass of Kia Royal which was included on last years menu.

I do feel that the attention to detail has slipped over the last year or so. This week the peas/veg with fish were cold. Then second visit Breton chicken I though was tasteless and the Diaphanous potatoes dish was sloppy, not browned off on top,, the green beans undercooked and I like al dente veg but these were more for in a salad But as always charming waitressWaiters

I seldom give full star ratings but I have to say that the salmon dish that I had was delicious, a very tasy dish. The staff were friendly and efficient. I had not been for some time so was very pleasantly suprised. Will go again.

Unusually poor experience this time. We go to this restaurant regularly and the staff know us. That probably helped, but we were still very disconcerted when our main courses took about half an hour to arrive after our plates had been cleared from the starter. Lots of people who arrived and ordered after us were served well ahead of us. If we hadn't had such a good relationship with our waiter I suspect we'd still be waiting- he took the initiative and went downstairs to investigate. Apparently there was some problem in the kitchen but they didn't elaborate on that. We were pleased that the management compensated us in part; they took the cost of our desserts off the bill. Very good boudin noir starter; duck main course up to scratch, but the fish provencale could have done with a few more minutes in the oven. They were probably trying to make sure we got our food in time to go over the road to the Dome for the Brighton Philharmonic concert.

I have always had excellent service and food when taking guests to lunch which hitherto I have done quite regularly, but the evening experience is substantially different. Once before I had reason to complain about the evening service as we had to leave for a performance in the Dome. This time I took three guests to eat at 7.15pm - we finally left at 10.50pm. Having called for the bill we were eventually told that they had no CC machines working and couldn't take payment this way - staff suggested there was a cash machine round the corner, or they would write out CC details. We collectively had enough to pay cash which cleared us out. the food was fair but really quite average. You will need to get your act together before I come back with guests in an evening - after all it was a Monday night and you were not that busy.

Yet another anniversary made memorable by a very enjoyable evening at Cote Brighton! The staff were charming and helpful. They brought me my chocolate pot with a lit candle and sang happy birthday very prettily! We all much appreciated the complementary Kir Royals! Thanks again Cote!

Really good end to the week meeting friends for supper Friday night. Excellent buzzy atmosphere but good and attentive service. Started off with the blood orange martini, which was excellent and drinking the Provence rose throughout our meal. We all had pissaldiere to start with followed by duck - really good, sea bass good, fish stew - very good and cod goujons - good. Everyone very happy!

Cote in Brighton is our regular one although we do visit the one in Lewis too (also excellent!) and in London (various depends where we go ). The standard is always excellent and last Saturday the service of the waiter (s) working as a team very good indeed. The food as always was delicious - so big thanks to the kitchen staff as well :-)

Didn’t eat for over an hour. The food had apparently gone off in the fridge. We waited along time and when it finally came wasn’t bad. Ordered poached eggs, Closer to hard boiled. Table next to us complained and got a free breakfast. We didn’t. I don’t like to complain except for now haha.

This was our first visit to a ‘Cote Brasserie’ and hoped it would be a half decent lunch. Wrong! It was a great lunch! The restaurant was a surprise at it was a lot larger than expected. Very stylish interior, air conditioning and a high ceiling so no uncomfortable noise. Plenty of 2 seater tables so good for couples. Staff very friendly, menu of the day was a reasonable price for a two or three course meal. Only disappointed by charging extra for bread, not a deal breaker but noted. Portions were good. Overall a thoroughly good experience and will look forward to our next visit.

I tend to dine at Cote restaurants quite often in London and on this occasion I ordered my usual calamari and mussels frites in Brighton. I must say It was quite disappointing as usually both dishes are spot on but this time I only had 7 soaking in oil calamari which also didn’t taste great and 6 of my mussels were closed. We also had duck and it was lacking the red wine juice. The only plus for service as the waitress was really nice.

We had the prestidge menu. The asparagus was excellent & so was the pork belly. Unfortunately some of the mussells were overcooked with lots of broken bits of shell & the chicken was overdone. It was a shame as the food is normally very good.

Starter arrived before our drinks! Dried up chicken with green beans that had attempted to be hidden under the chicken. They looked like they’d been cooking for ever as were brown and hadn’t even been top and tailed. To be fair, I complained and was brought some fresh ones. Bad choice of restaurant. I have been to other Cote restaurants and they were much better. It was very busy but no excuse for serving second rate food!

Lovely setting and staff. However really disappointed with the meal size as where the majority of our group. We’re not massive eaters but I have never left a restaurant after a three course meal as hungry as I did from cote. The mains were crying out for a potatoe side dish or something if that nature. Myself and my daughter had the sea bream. Which looked small when it arrived and was gone in under 5 minutes. Will I be back unfortunately I dont think so as we go out to be satisfied and the food served did not do this.

A regular at Cote always with a group of friends. Food is always superb. Staff very friendly and as our main course was delayed, they were honest, apologised and offered a gesture of good will. Really can’t ask for anymore. Thanks for a great evening. We shall be back. Our waiter was superb too. Also have a disabled toilet on the ground floor, wish all restaurants did. Super.

I had booked a table for five two weeks earlier so was a bit disappointed when our visit seemed to catch them by surprise ie: staff were not sure where the table was as there wasn’t one prepared. They had to rearrange a few tables to accommodate us. That said, the choice of food and the quality did not disappoint.

Food was great. Some confusion over which menu we could choose from as after 7pm. Sign outside said certain menu till closing, told same on seating, and then differently from waiter. Pointed out that outside board & seating person told us menu was available. Resolved but “wrong” menu board was still outside on departure.

Waited for waiter to take our order a long time - after 15 minutes managed to call him to our table to take our order. Then had a long wait for our first course, and another long wait for our main meal. The belly pork one of us ordered was so well done that I could not cut it and asked for a steak knife but even that would not cut it. There was no time for a dessert course as we were going to a show and we were running late by then. It was particularly annoying to see the same waiter serving other people who came in after us very promptly and of course they finished dining before us and left the restaurant.
