Côte Brighton restaurant

Had a lovely family meal. The service was excellent! Very enjoyable time had by all.

Lovely evening and great staff, very quick and friendly service

I eat at côte on a weekly basis, either out the front for a delicious drink with friends or in the restaurant as the food is very ‘reliable’. I’m very sad to say the food I had this evening was really not edible, I ordered the fillet steak which I usually love but it clearly hadn’t been either ‘rested’ or it was overcooked. I simply couldn’t eat it. I totally understand that the restaurant was very busy due to the government offer but I honestly eat at Cote weekly irrespective of any offers. I did experience a slightly chaotic show which sadly impaired the evening slightly. As someone who literally really enjoys Cote in Brighton I am totally willing to overlook this evening but I honestly think there are some lessons to learn post covid r.e overbooking. I do manage a hair salon around the corner so I honestly do understand the reopening of business and how crazy it is ; but I do have to emphasise the quality which I feel lacked this evening. I really nice evening seated on the terrace outside, we were greeted by a most enthusiastic young man and the service continued to exceed expectations. The food was very good and no long wait, only slight hiccup was the wine which was a little warm but quickly replaced with lovely chilled glasses and fresh wine. Overall it was a very pleasant and enjoyable evening- excellent value for money too! Will be back soon.

Lovely food very quick to receive from ordering and waitress was fantastic Very lovely bubbly lady who was back from being furloughed on her first shift and obviously so happy to be back and lovely for us to have her as our waitress.

Again, excellent food...another slice of bread with the rillettes, crab mayonnaise and the pâté would be good. We had a brand new waiter, James, on his first day. He was superb, remembered all our orders etc

As ever both the food and service were excellent. I really liked the feeling of space with some tables removed

Staff are always lovely- garden space is great - wish it would have the added addition of music sometimes and tables need umbrellas- have always loved the food as the standard has always been consistent - I am afraid however that the last two times I have eaten here since lockdown the food has not been as good

We so enjoyed our lunch yesterday, the food was excellent. The gluten-free options were fantastic. The service was attentive without being intrusive. We definitely want to return. Thank you all for a superb lunch experience.

Excellent evening, great staff, lovely atmosphere, great food - we ate outside on the rear terrace which was really nice. Excellent Covid practices implemented without making too much fuss

Restaurant looked great and service good - Ordered calamari x4 and 4 steaks for the family. Calamari like breaded elastic band and steaks luke warm tasteless meat - not sure how you could make it go so wrong - real shame !

Lovely sirloin steak, a little mix up soon resolved by excellent staff. A bit more air conditioning would have been appreciated but it was a very hot day.

It was a joy to be back after reopening - the usual great food, service and atmosphere!

I CAME TO BRIGHTON TO CELEBRATE MY GIRLFRIEND’S 23RD BIRTHDAY. THE SERVICE FROM START TO FINISH WAS INCREDIBLE. THE WAITER (IN A BLUE SHIRT AND IS STUDYING AT BIM) WAS ATTENTIVE, FRIENDLY AND WARM - A CREDIT TO THE TEAM.

We were seated outside in the shade and enjoyed a very pleasant couple of hours with 3 courses plus wine and coffee. My only disappointment was the chicken salad main course. It was just a bowl full of roughly chopped lettuce with a few strips of grilled chicken on top. Very plain and unappetising, which was a shame cos everything else was perfect. Nevertheless, I highly recommend Cote.

The staff were so friendly and attentive when we arrived and throughout. The food was delicious and atmosphere was relaxed. So happy to be back after lockdown

Nice starter but the main was ruined by having blue cheese with peas not a good taste

Always a pleasure to dine at Cote. Everyone is welcoming from the moment you step in the door. Food is exceptional. Whatever you choose. Well priced and fresh. Wines are good value we have many favourites. Great they are open again. Have missed them. Sometimes can be noisy but that is because the building is vast but wonderfully Art Deco. If you have a table in the window area the noise level is lowered. There is always upstairs for a ''quieter'' room

Lovely food, excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere. We were given all the time in the world to enjoy our food and chat. I even got birthday treats!

The waiter was very friendly and so helpful the food was excellent...so glad Cote has now reopened looking forward to our next experience in a few weeks

A lovely starter of prawn gratinee followed by the risotto vert. Unfortunately the risotto was very stodgy with an underlying burnt taste coming from the courgettes so disappointing. The Lagarde Blanc wine was delicious. Service excellent as usual and sitting outside for lunch was very pleasant.

Excellent dining experience from the moment we stepped into the restaurant.

Lovely staff, great service. The food was of a high standard and seasoned well apart from the creamed spinach. This was taken off the bill as I brought it up with Lilly our server. Lilly brought a sense of calm and professionalism to the night. The dish (Lobster) I chose was sold out which was a shame. I had the pork belly which was excellent.

Polite though stilted service, but efficient so it did the job.'Garden' not really a garden, more a surrounded by bricks and concrete courtyard. Could do with more foliage. However, the food, particularly the lamb chops, cooked to order perfectly. This is the first time I have been to a Cote Brasserie and I will definitely go again.

Absolutely fantastic service and food. Steak and pork belly were so well cooked.Staff were very friendly and attentive, made my 9 year old daughters birthday meal special. Safety measures are in place which made us feel better about eating out. Thank you.

Superb food and great service under covid 19 conditions - the best of three meals out we had in Brighton - Thank you

Having been a regular customer of cote for the last 6 years I have never before had to complain. The food at yesterdays meal not acceptable the prawns were overcooked and chewy and the beefburger which was requested to be medium rare was completely dry and tough. I must say however that the staff handled the complaint very well and 2 starters and 1 main were deleted from the bill, this however did not take away from the disapointment felt by myself and my guest as it had been a long awaited visit.

Had our hearts set on lobster but wasn’t informed until we tried to order it was off the menu. Also I made a special request to make our night extra romantic which I was willing pay extra for, was ignored. But on the whole food and service was very good.

Lovely as always. Food gorgeous and there is never any doubt that it will be.
