Côte Brighton restaurant

A year ago a change for the worse was apparent, but we gave it one more go. It now seems that the decline has continued. The staff are not nearly as attentive or pleasant. The food is at best poorly presented and at worst inferior to Pizza Express, Ask or any other chain - but double the price.

Great food and atmosphere, the perfect place to celebrate a birthday. Billy W was knowledgeable about the food and was attentive. There was enough choice on the menu and portion sizes were good

An excellent meal. Good welcome when we arrived and the staff responded cheerfully to our request to have an upstairs table. Service excellent sand friendly. Good wine. A very enjoyable evening ..thank you.

We had a fabulous evening for our 31st wedding anniversary .the food was good and the service was very attentive. Cote is our favourite restaurant .

As usual, lovely food and excellent service in this centrally located restaurant in central Brighton. The pre-theatre menu is very good value, not many places you get get 3 courses for around £15.00.

Had heàrd negative comments about speed of service recently but tonight we had no problems... Very good. Food & wine were excellent. Waiter very attentive. Good evening.

Cote Brasserie never fails on the food front every time we have been consistent food, good service and friendly this applies to all of their restaurants.

Cotes continues to impress me, the food is consistently good, this is the second time of eating in the Brighton branch and again could not fault anything. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, it has a real buzz! The staff are great, nothing is a problem.

Always a nice experience, good value for money . Staff great , but on Saturday night upstairs they were overstretched , needed more staff . But great venue , can always get a table , great location

Usual excellent service except that our mains were delivered when we were only half way through our starter. Not actually the first time this has happened in a Cote. Just a bit disappointing.

Excellent food but waitress could do with smiling a bit she was very po faced but didn’t put us off would still go back again for the good

Very busy restaurant but good table found upstairs with excellent food and service. However, portion sizes across the menu at Cote are getting a bit smaller.

An excellent early evening meal. The staff were friendly and informative. The food was good and served in a timely manner. Great value meal and the restaurant was buzzing.

Excellent food, excellent service. Never disappointed. Pork belly was very good. Never had before & thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband had the fillet steak & was cooked exactly how he wanted it.

Good value pre Theatre meal, great staff and customer service. We enjoyed the variety in the prix fixe and wine choices. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Excellent food and service but very crowded and noisy so noisy I could not talk to my wife over our meal. I generally love Cote and use my local one often so Brighton was a disappointing

Lovely, friendly staff. The atmosphere and food is always brilliant. We arrived much earlier than our booked appointment and they were able to seat us quickly.

Very busy afternoon in Cote Brighton today but never the less staff still managed friendly, efficient service - and the food? Good as always!! :0)

We had the fish cakes (3 of 5 people) but the egg was ice cold on the outside. we felt it should have been warm.

An excellent pre Brighton Philharmonic concert meal with my mother as company. The rib eye steak was spot on as was my mother's moulds marinate.

The atmosphere and service was just as good as usual. The staff are very attentive. The food is good value for the price. The quality of the food is good, although the crab starter was a bit small for 8.50.

Once again we had a lovely meal, very nicely served and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We all had the set menu which is really good value.

First time visit to Cotes. Such a warm welcome from start through to finish. The set menu was offered to us then taken away , was told they had run out! Food was amazing. Couldn't fault anything. Our table waiter was lovely and was popping over every now and again to see if we were OK. We wasn't rushed at all. The service charge in my opinion was worth it. Can't wait to go again!

Always good at cote, food quality was really good. service was really good and always have great wine well chilled. I will always recommend this restaurant to my friends and family

Great service, friendly staff and a great atmosphere....well worth a visit if you are in Brighton. Been there quite a few times so I am returning customer.

Excellent friendly service and the food never disappoints. Top class. Highly recommend for a great evening out. Steak tartare is a must. My favourite Brighton restaurant.

As ever the service at Cote was excellent and their formula food never has disappointed. All in all a very pleasant evening meal, we will return.

Cote is my favourite French restaurant in Brighton This time friends from Yorkshire were staying with me and wanted to take me out to dinner so of course I chose Cote. As usual excelleent fod and excellent service

As always as pleasure to come and eat here. We took advantage of our rewards offer - a free bottle of wine - and enjoyed this with a tasty meal. Service is very good and there is a lovely ambience in the restaurant. Cote remains a firm favourite with us.

Great food, great smiley staff, and the manageress Joulles is delightful. A great all round experience,as it always is.10 out of 10. Always very high standard, and always dependable.

Another Excellent meal & excellent service, definitely recommend anyone going for a meal here but remember to book as gets busy will be going back again soon

Côte Brasserie offer an authentic Brasserie experience. The choice of menu between light mains and main courses changes seasonally but always maintains firm favourites, mine is the fish parmentier. Service is crisp, polite and business like. Becoming a member of Cotes awards also provides the occasional good deal, currently a free bottle of wine.

The service,food and venue of the Brighton Cote is excellent.The staff very pleasant and efficient so it is a very good restaurant for lunch before a concert and indeed generally.

Our experience at Cote Brasserie - Brighton was slightly disappointing. There seemed very few waiting staff. We waited some time before placing our order, and when the starters came one was wrong. The food was as usual excellent. We love coming to Cote Brasserie - Brighton.

Great atmosphere as always, friendly service and a good menu at reasonable prices. We took advantage of a free bottle of wine promotion, and enjoyed a very good French Sauvignon.

Crepes tasted fine but swimming in liquid, asked for spoon but took dish and liquid drained. Waiter and manager excellent, very apologetic, generous with bill.

Never fails to satisfy with food, atmosphere and service. The early evening menu is exceptionally good value and I always take visiting friends to the Brighton restaurant.

I'm afraid I came home and started being violently sick. This was last Thursday and it is now Monday and I'm still ill. I don't know if it was what I ate or I have caught a bug so too difficult to rate. The service was excellent.

Table wasn’t ready and was kept waiting for over20 minutes and obviously forgotten and problem wasn’t sorted until I complained. The service from then on wasn’t very attentive, had to wait over half an hour to get dessert menue. It wasn’t the fault of the staff, it was the fault of the restaurant running such a busy establishment with clearly over worked staff.

We went on a Monday night. The place was absolutely packed but our table was waiting. They had sold out of several items so we had to reorder two main courses. The service was very polite but the food was slow in coming. This is always the case at this restaurant. However, once it did arrive it was very delicious, nicely plated and fair sized portions. I will go again because it has a friendly, buzzy ambiance.

The service was not up to its normal standard as normal. We were all chatting on arrival and did not notice that 6 out of 8 places were not set up so on arrival of our starters we had no cutlery. The table was never cleared of the original wine glasses and through the evening empties were never cleared. Something went wrong that evening, but fortunately the food was still of the exceptional standard

Food always good and well presented. Friendly and efficient staff. I don't like the automatic 12.5% service charge being added though. I'm aware you can ask for it not to be added and tip at your own discretion but you shouldn't have to be put in that position.

Fabulous early evening meal, attentive staff and wonderful choice of dishes. Lovely atmosphere and a great buzz in the restaurant. The choice of wine was very good and reasonably priced.

We visited 6pm for a pre-theatre meal, seated straightaway with a choice of where to sit. The restaurant soon filled up and was very busy, so a couple of small waits, but overall I'm always impressed by the service and food quality at Cote Brighton and this was another successful visit - hope to be returning again soon.
