Party of four dined on a buisy Friday evening. Nice table in the window, good atmosphere. All enjoyed food, especially succulent lamb chops with Roquefort. Signature creme caramel excellent as always. Served by enthusiastic French waitress. Looking forward to next visit.

Terrifically welcoming and friendly staff. Couldn’t have been more helpful and in a full and busy restaurant, too. The food was of good quality and good value. The Brighton restaurant is full of character but if you need it quieter the huge room upstairs is often less noisy.

Food and atmosphere great. However our seats not good, badly positioned. Constant interruptions by staff trying to wait on tables close to us. Couldn't relax.

I don't normally patronise chain establishments, but Côte have got it right. Their renovation of the near-derelict music library opposite the Dome in Brighton is a masterpiece. With its mirrored walls, low lighting and banquette seating I feel like I could be in the bar at the Follies Bergeres by Manet. The menu is concise but each dish is perfectly executed, prices very competitive and the staff are well trained and polite without being snooty. Full marks all round, I have never had a bad experience here. House wine excellent value too!

Superb service and meal. The 10 year old son of our friend described the meal as exquisite and we had to agree with him. Will be back next time we are in Brighton

Perfect for the Dome theatre and local bars. Service very good, however, not a fan of the "obligatory" 12.5% pre-added tip. Restaurant was extremely busy after 7:00 pm.

We were pleased to be able to book a table online an hour before we arrived. The restaurant was fantastic and in a great location. Staff were attentive and the food very good. There was quite a long wait for the food to arrive, but over a bottle of wine that didn’t matter.

Have used Brighton Cote sinced they opened. Unfortunately today was disappionting long wait for food and the steak was not up to the normal stantard and the side dish of spinnage was over cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful as usual. This experience will not deter us from future visits.

Four of us had a very tasty light and inexpensive meal served by friendly helpful courteous staff. I had whitebait which was exceptionally tasty followed by an excellent salad, others in our party had steak, fish and ratatouille and we all enjoyed our meals.

Always consistently good. And busy and buzzing. Great value lunch/pre theatre specials. Steak frites a favourite. It's not to be rushed so give yourself plenty of time if you are going somewhere else and enjoy the experience.

Last week when I was taken to Cotes the service & food was excellent, but yesterday was a bit disappointing. The French onion soup was very peppery. The veal which I had last week was laying on oil on the plate & there did not appear to be any veal jus this time, There was a lot of coarse salt on it & it was well browned on the edges, but hardly cooked in the middle. The watercress was dried up, wilting & some of it was yellow. The waitress did bring some jus & watercress when I asked. The other meal, was on the April menu the starter of endive & pear salad was alright. The main coarse of Toulouse sausage was not good as the sausage was salty & the skin was tough. The lentils were like mushy peas as they seemed to have been overcooked. The wine was good. The service was not very good & we were never asked if everything was alright. It was a bit of a disappointment after the last visit & it did not seem it was the same chef.

Great as usual - but service was slow... not due to our wonderful waiter, but he just had too many tables at peak eating time to be able to get to us all quickly enough!

Cote Brighton is as delightful as ever - a convivial and attractive venue - and the food as well-cooked and presented as I remember. Very sad, therefore, that our meal last night was marred badly by one individual who, from the moment when our main course was served, irritated one of my guests by her over-bearing attitude and patronising manner. He, a local doctor, was, unsurprisingly, rather put out by being told that he was wrong in terms of trying to clarify how he had originally ordered his steak. I felt more for the waiter holding our service tray who had to witness this over-bearing display. However, the moment passed and we enjoyed our meal but the incident continued to niggle my guest - to the point that he felt that he had to say something and did, so, in private, to the venue's polite and welcoming Maître D' who had first greeted us on arrival. That, regrettably, brought the individual in question storming across and a highly unprofessional exchange then took place with, at one stage, it being inferred that all of us were inebriated. Noting that this was only my first meal out after having had bariatric surgery 2 months before - and that I had consumed a half glass of wine - and myself being a retired restaurateur who had once run an award-winning restaurant and training programme for commis chefs and front of house staff, this crossed a line that in my very many years (I am 62) I have seldom witnessed. One of the other staff subsequently and kindly informed me that as far as he was concerned that I had not had too much to drink - but the genie was out of the bottle. We paid in full including the full service charge (and the guest who had been insulted left a further cash tip for one member of staff) - despite already having been told to leave; a first for me. The moral of this story is - by all means visit Cote, Brighton - you will be well dined and looked after by a first class waiting team. However, Cote Headquarters - should you read this - then I think some Mystery Customer work is required at this venue and that you should consider whether your manager (on this particular evening) is someone who really understands how best to represent and uphold your brand values. Her behaviour, in short, was reprehensible; little short of disgraceful. I expect far, far better from a restaurant group of your calibre.

Poor and oversalted tastless food. Will not return. I was Easter Sunday night and we were warned that most specials had sold out. However hard duck confit with tasteless cabbage. All the veg tasteless and poor. Other dishes were severely oversalted and we had to send back crepes as inedible. Not a good experience...

Food was very good. Lunchtime service was also efficient but slowed a little bit as the restaurant filled up. On the whole, a pleasant dining experience.
