Côte Brighton restaurant

Lively atmosphere and pleasant staff Very slow service and food ok but not memorable, obviously microwaved! Reasonable value for money Ok for a pre theatre meal but they need to speed up service

As always, the food was excellent. This time it was exceptionally busy, which meant waiting rather longer than usual for the food to arrive. But overall: fine!

The venue is very noisy. The food and service were good and the wine very nice. But it was difficult to hear the person sitting beside you let alone across the table!

Good food and friendly service, somewhat marred by a long delay between our first and main courses. The waitress had to be alerted to this and then went away, presumably to ring the kitchen. Fortunately, we had allowed enough time before our Festival event and we limited ourselves to coffee and no dessert.

The Food was lovely. The Service was good and the Staff were efficient. The Toilets could do with a revamp and let the whole experience down.

Excellent waitress on a busy evening. Loved our chicken and mushrooms and steak frites. Lalande red wine very acceptable . I love the fact that Cote is so reliably good.

Utterly dependable. The menu, nevertheless, doesn't seem to change as often as it used to. Moreover, they used to push 2 tables for 2 together in the window for a party of 4 which no longer seems to be the case.

Very slow service despite restaurant being only half full. Orders came out at different times so unable to eat together. Bill reduced which was appreciated.

A varied set lunch menu which very reasonably priced. The service was friendly and efficient. This was my first visit and I highly recommend this restaurant.

Very disappointing meal. Restaurant was so noisy with staff crashing and bashing plates and dropping trays. Food disappointing too. We have eaten at Cote in London many many times but this was inferior. Pissaladiere was not up to the usual standard and reblochon too thin. More like a cheap pizza! Chicken was overcooked and peppercorn sauce thin, watery and tasteless. Spinach tasteless. Took guests who had not eaten at Cotre before, who were equally unimpressed. Spoke to the manager and waitress about the noise before we left but no solution offered.

Lovely time there. Food was good and wine too. We had such a lovely time there and we’re planning to go back there as soon as possible

From being greeted at the door the whole experience was fabulous, thr food was excellent and well executed. Staff were very friendly and helpfull. A visit here is highly recommended.

I’ve been here a number of times and it never disappoints. It’s a beautiful restaurant and consistently serves great food at a very reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit

We love Cote Brighton. The building is fabulous, an old bank we think but a great venue and plenty of space outside for al fresco dining. a real gem.

Fabulous service, food and interior. A fabulous place for brunch with friends. The choice was exceptional, as was the quality. And attentive polite service. Highly recommended.

We had an enjoyable lunch and the complimentary kir royale for my wife's birthday was very good, the choice of food on the set menu was a bit limited, I ordered the steak frites and was asked if I wanted any sauces and I requested mustard and ketchup , my sauces were never served with the meal which I did comment on, our server did offer us a complimentary hot drink but the service was not as good as we had expected.

As Always a very enjoyable time spent at Cote. Food was lovely, excellent value and the service was great. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Brighton

Food was decent, service was also good. Good menu, fantastic location right in the heart of the city centre. Would be the ideal pre theatre restaurant.

Sadly my experience of this branch of Cote was not good. I booked a table for 2 pm when we arrived we were shown to out table, The waiter took our order, after about 30 minutes a waitress appeared and said there was a problem with the computer and asked what we had ordered. when our starters arrived the salad in them was not properly washed and tasted of grit and sand these were replaced but were still not of the usual standard offered by Cote. The main course arrived and the chicken was overcooked and dry, all in this is the worst meal I have had at a branch of Cote

Always fantastic ! Food and service 😊 .... the staff are fantastic great for large groups aswell looking forward to when the garden is open again though

We had a very pleasant pre theatre meal, excellent food and service. We particularly like the Brighton Cote because it doesn't feel like a 'chain'. We will come again some as it was excellent value.

This Cote is in a fabulous building and we sat upstairs for the first time which was lovely as it was really busy downstairs. Great service with friendly attentive staff. Food was very good and so reasonably priced.

We spent a very enjoyable evening at Cote Brighton celebrating my partners birthday the food exceptional and the staff are all so good very helpful and attentive we have eaten at Cote Brighton several times and have never any bad food or service I would not hesitate to recommend Cote to anyone looking for excellent food and service. Lovely food and excellent service. The dark chocolate mousse is gorgeous but just needs to be darker! Keep up the good work - great team!

As always the staff very welcoming. The food was well presented and delicious as was the dessert, Crème Brulee, creamy with crunchy top. Enjoyed a delicious glass of red wine with the meal. Service very good.

Excellent service, scrumptious food, had asparagus and salmon specials, , lovely atmosphere sitting outside in the sunshine.thank you for making my birthday special. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

We have been here for breakfast, lunch, dinner before. Services is better and better. Friendly welcome from the reception. Speedy services. A big wine list. Will back again.

Perfect for a pre-theatre meal. Very pleasant staff, amazing value, great atmosphere. Difficult to fault. Would always book again. Nice little treat being given a couple of glasses of Kir, as it was my birthday in April.

My local Côte set in one of the finest buildings in Brighton. As ever, the standard is uniformly high with friendly and efficient staff and fine food at reasonable prices.

Excellent all round - as always! Everyone in our party of 6 really enjoyed their meal. Service great and wine tasty! A great evening - thankyou once again. We live in Horsham and so hope that our local Cote will soon be open again.

A lovely ambience, good staff and great food....a really place for an early evening meal, however best to book as very popular and gets very busy...great pre-theatre venue

We all enjoyed our meals , especially our grandson aged 11 , who loved the calamari, duck breast, and ice cream giving it ten out ten and asking when could we come again.

Good food, great wine, relaxed surroundings. We had a fab late lunch. I know I can always rely on Cote whether it’s lunch or dinner with family or friends.

We have had better experiences here. My meal was luke warm. The service was fine, but we have felt over the last few visits that the standard is slipping. Shame.

My sister and I had a nice early evening meal at Cotes. The service was good and the waiter was patient and helpful, while we made our meal choices.

This is my favourite Cote restaurant. A lovely atmosphere (not too noisy) and superb service. The standard and variety of food is second to none for the price charged so in summary I can highly recommend Cote in Brighton.

On my last visit someone didn't have their eye on the ball !! We had not finished our starter when the main course was brought to the table,! It was then taken away until we had, so no kind of breather between courses, as we were having a glass of white wine with a fish starter we did not have time to savour the wine. We had ordered minute steak - which is flash fried and served pink. Ours was taken away and put under a heat lamp or in a holding oven - it came back with a red hot plate and over cooked steak. My companion has been having a very stressful time so I did not want to make a big thing about it at the time, The restaurant was not busy so the kitchen can not have been over taxed. The total bill was £82.00 which on this occasion I felt was very poor value

This is Mums favourite restaurant and they have never yet let us down. She has a very restricted diet and can be a challenge sometimes but they always come up trumps. She has now been diagnosed with dementia so I will bring her out for a meal whenever I can for as long as she is able. Thanks again.

Great service & food. We ate from the higher priced set menu & felt the choices & food we’re definitely worth paying the extra. Great seafood linguine.
