Côte Brighton restaurant

Very nice venue inside and outside. Food was high standard and served by helpful & friendly waiting staff. Good place for a birthday party. Would go again.

This was a first rate evening and restored my faith in this restaurant where both food and service had slipped in recent months. Among the dishes we had, the rib-eye steak was outstanding.

Great food at reasonable prices. There's a lot to choose from on the menu and I've never had a bad meal yet. Even though this is a big busy restaurant, the atmosphere is still intimate.

Set menu is exceptional good value. Service was excellent as it usually is. The food arrived promptly as asked as this was a pre theatre visit. Have been many times before and will be going again.

Had a lovely celebration dinner, food delicious, waiting staff pleasant and attentive, only quibble french fries that come with the fillet steak very small portion for an adult

As always goood food and very attentive staff, what could be better? I've been coming to Cote since it opened and have remained a loyal customer ever since!

My starter was the Tomato Breton which I have frequently - this one had hardly any tomatoes on the plate! And the ones I received were soggy with too much dressing. The Tuna Nicoise was adequate. My partner ordered the prawns to start, he had to send back as they were lukewarm. Disappointing as in the past food has been up to standard.

Nice decor and ambiance. Staff friendly and food great. However staff could have been more attentive as we waited quite a while to be able to pay and staff were not great at looking for eye contact at tables. We had to stand and wave to get the bill. Staff all seemed a bit sleepy. Great food tho.

Good food and great service on the day from Paula. Enjoyed everything and even though the restaurant was busy it all flowed smoothly - we will be back soon!

Felt we were being rushed waiter quick to collect plates before we had finished main course then asking if we wanted a dessert also cod goujons were very overcooked not our usual Cote experience

Positive: Nice restaurant, very good food, waiters and manager very gentle. Negative: too crowdy and people was really really noisy (I am sure it depends by the day and the time we booked)

Service was very slow, however it was a Sunday night. Had to ask for our drinks after they had been ordered and had to find a staff member to serve further drinks throughout the meal. Potatoes which were served alongside the meal were very dry, as if they had sat under the hot plate for too long. One portion of potatoes wasn’t served and had to be requested

As usual very good service, the restaurant was exceptionally busy by the time it came to pay the bill so took a little while to get paid up.

Always good service and great venue especially the brunch. One comment, food sometimes is not really hot and the pkatea need to be warmed which they never seem to be

The great thing about Cote is the fact is,it’s consistent. You know you are going to get a certain standard. It’s extremely well run and always a nice buzzie atmosphere. Fantastic value for money. Also some of the best staff in Brighton. Long may it last, Cote is an asset to Brighton.

Food wasn’t as hot as I would have liked and service was poor. Waitress very unprofessional and did not smile once. Not particularly good value for money.

Great food and service. The restaurant was very busy and had great ambience. I guess lots of people were out celebrating the end of a working week.

As usual, service with a smile, and the set lunch very tasty and good value. The house wine was excellent. We will be visiting many more times.

Always enjoy breakfast a Coté, i actually look for it if I am staying somewhere new, the breakfast is so delicious and consistent across the brand. Loved it.

Good friendly staff who strike a good balance between attentive and intrusive which is a bit of an art. Food reliably good - they do what they do very well. Only missed out on the maximum score as our table was experiencing a bit of an icy blast of wind every time the door opened.

All 4 courses were very good, the wine excellent value and the staff awesome. I will definitely return to this branch of the super restaurant chain.

Lovely food and such a great atmosphere. All the staff are friendly and helpful too. It is consistently good at Cote and one of my favourite restaurants in Brighton. Excellent.

Excellent Service, excellent Food. Had an accident with the Red Wine. The Staff handled the situation superbly. Would certainly Dine in the Brighton Cote again. In fact we will be at the Dorking Cote on Thursday.

As always - dining at the Cote is a great experience. Super food and service and a very buzzy atmosphere. We went for a pre-theatre meal and it was served very efficiently without our feeling rushed. Sheer perfection from the moment we arrived and were welcomed like old friends to when I had to go back later as I had left my scarf there. They were just SO helpful and the maitre de even asked us about the show and was really really interested. Made us feel really special. Wish we lived nearer to Brighton as this would be our Number One place for dining out!

Booked on behalf of a colleague for a lunch meeting. She felt it was perfect for lunch, but would not be convinced to make an evening booking.

The hotel is in a good location in the centre of Brighton and the restaurant is large but it is worth booking at peak times for a reservation. The menu includes an a la care as well as special menu and also at times a fixed price menu. It has an extensive wine list by the glass and by the bottle. When we went it was a Saturday in the early afternoon and despite it being very busy as we had bookd we got a table immediately. The service was very good and we had sea bass from the main menu which was cooked very well as well as a starter and desert. I would recommend this restaurant and describe it as mid priced in terms of cost.

Have only been a couple of times but each was a very pleasant occasion. Excellent service and food with very pleasant and friendly staff. Will definitely be in again

Authentic French bistro food, excellent value and friendly service in the spacious surroundings of Brighton’s lovely old music library. A must for all the family.

We had excellent service even though we could see the staff were stretched. Food was consistently good which is so important. Mussels and pork belly delicious with the house wine. Have eaten at many Cote restaurants and love the concept. Looking forward to trying the prestige set menu.

Great service ,wonderful starters the only reason it is not top marks was my sirloin steak came well done not medium, but apart from that it was up to it’s normal high standard.

We had a fabulous breakfast - always cooked beautifully and the staff were so warm and welcome. Love going there for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Lovely lunch. But we where surprised as we were used to have a little salad near our steak frites which doesn't happen anymore. It was making the dish looking more finished!

I have been going to Côte since it opened and always found the food and service excellent but this time though I had to send my main course back (Risotto undercooked) and although I was given another meal and a ‘sorry’ from the waiter I had expected more as my dining partner then had to eat her meal alone as mine did not arrive until she had finished. In the past in other restaurants this has happened twice but they made sure my dining friends food was taken away too so we could eat the main course at the same time, also the manager had taken the time to come and apologie on behalf of the restaurant so in reality I had expected the same level of service from Côte.
