Côte Brighton restaurant

Once again I came to Cote to meet up with my friend and as always the meal was first class. Also the team are really friendly and helpful. We’ll be back next month.

Great service and January special deal very good value for money

Visited Cote Brighton on the 7th January. As always, food good, staff friendly, still our favourite restaurant.

Everything was top quality, atmosphere, food, drink and brilliant service

What a disappointment lunch was. The food was poorly cooked and the starter calamari was hard grey and most unappetizing. One of the main courses was cold and the other overcooked and just warm. Maybe not an experience to repeat

As a regular visitor i always enjoy Cote, I had the early evening set 3 course menu, the starter was pear and endive salad which was delicious, the dessert was my all time fave creme caramel which has yet to be be beaten anywhere, the main was the cottage pie which was ok but a bit disappointing, nothing special,especially the veg which were a little overcooked and soggy, but overall a very nice meal and I will be back.

This occasion was a lunch for a group of six friends. Everyone enjoyed the food from the set menu, which is good value. Service was efficient , but unhurried. I was surprised how busy the restaurant was for a January lunchtime, giving a nice, buzzy atmosphere.

I went with a friend on a quiet Monday night, to take advantage of the special January offer of £9.95 for two courses. Incredibly good value - food was tasty and plentiful. Service was excellent - couldn't fault it. We had a great evening and look forward to a return visit.

I booked a table for 8 on Boxing Day evening hoping it would be an improvement on last Year at a different restaurant. It was excellent. The booking process was simple, staff were efficient and friendly, food was very good indeed and the atmosphere was just right being lively but not too loud. Thank you Cote

We have always been fans of Cotes Brighton, but last night when we went there to celebrate our sons birthday it was very disappointing. It was the third time we have been there recently & they have run out of some of the specials bearing in mind it was only 6.00pm & not even half way through the month. The artichoke & goats cheese tartine was not very exciting & the bread was so hard we had trouble cutting it. We settled for the half chargrilled Breton chicken as there was no guinea hen. My wife's potato gratin was a half portion that had fat floating on top of it. We sent it back & one arrived quite quickly, but lukewarm. Even the green beans were greasy. The waiter never came to ask if everything was alright. What is the point of having specials on for the month if you cannot supply them to customers bearing in mind this was the third time it has happened. Overall a very disappointing birthday celebration. Even the kir was served in a wine glass looking like a rose wine. We spend a lot of time in France & you get a proper glass for your kir. Maybe it is better to go in the week & have the prestige menu.

Lovely meal. Particularly enjoyed the crème caramel and the seedlip aux mertilles apéritif!

Always guaranteed a high standard of food and service at Côte.

Excellent as always. Always very welcoming . The waiter was always aware of the right time time to take order and allowed us to feel unhurried and enjoy each course. Food of a good standard Cote is a go to restaurant

Nice food and good service! We were offered a quieter spot upstairs which we preferred. The complementary non-alcoholic cocktails were excellent.

I booked a table for Friday lunch as a surprise birthday treat for my Sister. The staff were very attentive and kindly gave us a complimentary glass of fizz because of the celebration. It was such a lovely gesture and with the quality of food at Cote, we had a relaxing enjoyable lunch. Many thanks to the restaurant for making the experience so pleasurable. Kerry x

Pleasant ambience, friendly atmosphere, very good staff and nice food.

We had the early bird 2-course January special. Pork Rillettes was very nice, cornichons lacked personality, not quite enough sourdough but it was pleasant. My friend had soup but was disappointed there was no bread to dip but it was nice. We both opted for chicken with salardaise potatoes. Bacon lardons were barely there, the potatoes were very peppery with a bare hint of garlic and a bit on the dry side. It was fairly pleasant, lacked in flavour and it needed another element to it like veg, rocket kind of worked though but only had a pinch. We had a lovely bottle of Merlot and overall had an enjoyable evening with service friendly and fairly prompt. It was a good atmosphere and felt very french bistroey!!! Worth a visit, I am hard to please as my husband is an excellent cook!

Thank you for a lovely meal which was our belated Xmas lunch for work. Finding somewhere with a lovely atmosphere and wonderful food, but that also didn't break the budget, is always challenging, but Cote did us proud. The staff were excellent in managing our slightly problematic ordering. I will certainly be back at some point with the family for a meal. Thanks again.

Lovely environment. Very considerate staff, accommodated us with a buggy and a demanding baby Lovely mains (rib eye steak and salmon). The calamari has a good batter, very light and crispy. But I was disappointed that it was tougher than usual, flavour was blant and I had to rely on the dip.

As a frequent diner at Côte, Brighton, I have pretty much run out of words of praise. The overall experience is never less than thoroughly enjoyable.

In the past wehave been very happy and satisfied. Disappointed this time as we had no braised minted peas with our Hachis Parmentier, just warm lettuce. Also our main reason for dining was to take advantage of the January sale sent to us from Brighton Cotes. When we paid we were informed Brighton did not honour this discount. We spoke to the manager who said there was less discount as Brighton was a more expensive restaurant and to read the small print. We found nothing in the small print and as Brighton sent the offer it doesn’t seem right or fair.

Visited for the New Year’s Eve set menu and had an incredible night. The food was delicious but it was the staff who really made the evening special. They were all so kind, attentive and professional, even though they were so busy. I really appreciate how special they made us feel. Thank you, Côte Brighton team :)

Pleasant greeting table in window as requested. Polite and responsive waitress. Good selection of wine and food. Affordable prices and good quality.

Visited on the 2nd of January for a pre theatre meal. Knowing it would probably be busy we allowed ourselves an extra 45 mins. The welcome was warm and friendly - As we thought the restaurant was very busy - a nice buzz in the air Our waiter was very attentive and informative Excellent menu choices at such reasonable prices There was a bit of a delay between the staters & the main - the waiting staff were lovely, updated us and apologised - for us it was no problem as we were enjoying the drinks & atmosphere The food was great - as always We requested our bill and were informed that there had been a significant deduction - this was a very kind gesture Mindful that delays are sometimes unavoidable - we could see how hard the staff were working to manage. We could see a few tables complaining about the waiting times. We happily gave a 50% gratuity of the bill - Thanks as always for a lovely meal we had a great time.

Pros - tasty food, good service, nice ambience Cons - portion size of Frites (minute) Salad leaves plonked on top of mushroom risotto, not a nice way to present the food No taste of Roquefort on the lamb chops,not sure there actually was any
