It's always hard to write, as an amateur, a review without sounding, "phoney". But, I'll try. Friends, family and I have been coming to Cote for years we have never had cause to complain. If I have commented on anything, and it was just a comment, whatever it was, was resolved immediately, with a smile and without any fuss. That's the way they do things! The food is ALWAYS excellent, the staff are ALWAYS excellent and the price is ALWAYS realistic. Cote, is the ONLY restaurant in Brighton which I would heartily recommend without worrying, they may have an "off night"...they never have and I doubt they ever will.
Had a really wonderful lunch with one of my closest friends. The food and service was excellent. Very friendly and cheerful and didn`t rush us at all. The cocktails and Cremant de Bourgoyne bubbly made it a perfect day out in Brighton in a lovely environment. Highly recommend and we`ll definitely come back. Thank you to all the staff especially our waiter who looked after us so well.
Lovely chicken, not dry and very tasty. Crab salad a little disappointing, it was a bit mushy - the mix could have been separately served for a better eating experience
Excellent service and food and wine as always at COTE Brighton. Can highly recommend the restaurant. Great atmosphere too. We were a party of 6. John O'Hara
Excellent meal, excellent service and excellent value for money. Thank you again.
Excellent service as always.... and really good food, great house wine and my favourite dessert from any restaurant... your marvellous creme caramel. Worth a visit just for that!
Lovely food as always. Service with a smile. Upstairs is nicer as it is very loud downstairs. Very clean and always very pleasant. Will definitely come again.
As it was my boyfriends birthday we were given free bubbly as we arrived and the food was immense! I had the pork belly and he had the fillet steak, and both of us were very happy with our meals !
I seldom give full star ratings but I have to say that the salmon dish that I had was delicious, a very tasy dish. The staff were friendly and efficient. I had not been for some time so was very pleasantly suprised. Will go again.
I have always had excellent service and food when taking guests to lunch which hitherto I have done quite regularly, but the evening experience is substantially different. Once before I had reason to complain about the evening service as we had to leave for a performance in the Dome. This time I took three guests to eat at 7.15pm - we finally left at 10.50pm. Having called for the bill we were eventually told that they had no CC machines working and couldn't take payment this way - staff suggested there was a cash machine round the corner, or they would write out CC details. We collectively had enough to pay cash which cleared us out. the food was fair but really quite average. You will need to get your act together before I come back with guests in an evening - after all it was a Monday night and you were not that busy.
Yet another anniversary made memorable by a very enjoyable evening at Cote Brighton! The staff were charming and helpful. They brought me my chocolate pot with a lit candle and sang happy birthday very prettily! We all much appreciated the complementary Kir Royals! Thanks again Cote!
Thea served us and she was absolutely outstanding. She went above and beyond with our service, making us feel very well taken care of, making excellent wine recommendations, and paired with the impeccable food, made our entire visit exemplary.
Excellent evening - great atmosphere and food, lovely waiters and great venue
Really good end to the week meeting friends for supper Friday night. Excellent buzzy atmosphere but good and attentive service. Started off with the blood orange martini, which was excellent and drinking the Provence rose throughout our meal. We all had pissaldiere to start with followed by duck - really good, sea bass good, fish stew - very good and cod goujons - good. Everyone very happy!
We had a lovely time. The food and service was great. We will be back.
Cote in Brighton is our regular one although we do visit the one in Lewis too (also excellent!) and in London (various depends where we go ). The standard is always excellent and last Saturday the service of the waiter (s) working as a team very good indeed. The food as always was delicious - so big thanks to the kitchen staff as well :-)
Nice environment, pleasant staff, good food, but service was very slow.
We had a delicious Birthday meal for the family this evening in Brighton. The food and service were brilliant as usual and my children always enjoy being treated like adults at dinner. Thank you for a fabulous evening Cote 😀
Didn’t eat for over an hour. The food had apparently gone off in the fridge. We waited along time and when it finally came wasn’t bad. Ordered poached eggs, Closer to hard boiled. Table next to us complained and got a free breakfast. We didn’t. I don’t like to complain except for now haha.
Always enjoy the food here..all the food was tasty and enjoyable . the service was good as always .. wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone
Lovely attentive waiting staff. We all had good tasty meals. Very happy. 👍
We enjoyed our meal and found the ambience agreeable, the service attentive and considerate (despite the fact that the restaurant was very busy) and the value for money good.
Amazing Staff. Amazing Breakfast. Great ambiance, but please get the terrace working. Value is high, cost is middle. Overall my top 5 places to eat in Brighton. Thank you, Jason
This was our first visit to a ‘Cote Brasserie’ and hoped it would be a half decent lunch. Wrong! It was a great lunch! The restaurant was a surprise at it was a lot larger than expected. Very stylish interior, air conditioning and a high ceiling so no uncomfortable noise. Plenty of 2 seater tables so good for couples. Staff very friendly, menu of the day was a reasonable price for a two or three course meal. Only disappointed by charging extra for bread, not a deal breaker but noted. Portions were good. Overall a thoroughly good experience and will look forward to our next visit.
I tend to dine at Cote restaurants quite often in London and on this occasion I ordered my usual calamari and mussels frites in Brighton. I must say It was quite disappointing as usually both dishes are spot on but this time I only had 7 soaking in oil calamari which also didn’t taste great and 6 of my mussels were closed. We also had duck and it was lacking the red wine juice. The only plus for service as the waitress was really nice.
Brilliant staff, delicious food and never a disappointed experience dining at any Cote restaurant! My seabass was not quite hot enough and was instantly replaced and the bill adjusted in goodwill. The restaurant delivers first class dining. Well done!
Lovely waitress, quite attentive. Made every effort to make our evening one to remember . Loved the way the waiting staff brought dessert with a birthday candle and sang Happy Birthday to the birthday person really special
Service was not good . We had to ask twice for our second bottle of wine . Several dishes were not available . Not offered coffees , etc and had to ask twice for the bill - Very disappointed x
This was a special occasion, my partner's birthday and you guys made it a very special night. Thank you to the all team from the moment we arrived to our departure. Lovely welcome, friendly and professional service, delicious food and deserts!!! A memorable experience, Thank you! Serge & Guy
Excellent experience. Great food lovely surroundings.Really good value for money . Will definitely visit Cote Brighton again soon. In fact all local Cote restaurants are excellent.
We had the prestidge menu. The asparagus was excellent & so was the pork belly. Unfortunately some of the mussells were overcooked with lots of broken bits of shell & the chicken was overdone. It was a shame as the food is normally very good.
Consistently high standard and good service Disappointed to see certain regular items on menu portion size / quantity has been reduced Great atmosphere and setting Good and convenient city centre location
Starter arrived before our drinks! Dried up chicken with green beans that had attempted to be hidden under the chicken. They looked like they’d been cooking for ever as were brown and hadn’t even been top and tailed. To be fair, I complained and was brought some fresh ones. Bad choice of restaurant. I have been to other Cote restaurants and they were much better. It was very busy but no excuse for serving second rate food!
Good taste but very small portions therefore not value for money This is a beautiful restaurant and I hope you will review your portion sizes so I can come back!
Lovely setting and staff. However really disappointed with the meal size as where the majority of our group. We’re not massive eaters but I have never left a restaurant after a three course meal as hungry as I did from cote. The mains were crying out for a potatoe side dish or something if that nature. Myself and my daughter had the sea bream. Which looked small when it arrived and was gone in under 5 minutes. Will I be back unfortunately I dont think so as we go out to be satisfied and the food served did not do this.
Great food, reasonably priced, good service. Catered for son’s various food allergies - but and dairy. Enjoyed complimentary blood orange martini, delicious combination. Good atmosphere, good for teens.
Lovely meal. Excellent service despite being extremely busy. Reasonably priced considering quality of food
The food is fantastic, but the staff are outstanding. Our experience with Cote is consistently excellent. We have never been disappointed and for that reason Cote will always be one of our favourite places to dine.
Really lovely food on all 3 courses . Friendly staff and a lively atmosphere, The only negative would be the lighting was a bit dark, had to use light on phone to see the menu properly.
A regular at Cote always with a group of friends. Food is always superb. Staff very friendly and as our main course was delayed, they were honest, apologised and offered a gesture of good will. Really can’t ask for anymore. Thanks for a great evening. We shall be back. Our waiter was superb too. Also have a disabled toilet on the ground floor, wish all restaurants did. Super.
The Soup was tepid and the Bouef En Croute was awful it had very little meat in it and didn’t have puff pastry as per the menu just mash potato by the side
Nice surroundings, quality and good value menu, friendly and efficient young staff. The seating is well laid out and though busy the place never seems crowded or noisey.
Service second to none as ever. Made it special for my sons birthday. Always a nice atmosphere there. Only disappointment was chicken a bit on the dry side and prefer brioche with the pate which used to be served with it.
Waited for waiter to take our order a long time - after 15 minutes managed to call him to our table to take our order. Then had a long wait for our first course, and another long wait for our main meal. The belly pork one of us ordered was so well done that I could not cut it and asked for a steak knife but even that would not cut it. There was no time for a dessert course as we were going to a show and we were running late by then. It was particularly annoying to see the same waiter serving other people who came in after us very promptly and of course they finished dining before us and left the restaurant.
A very pleasant restaurant with excellent customer service, varied menus, & convenient location. The staff are always welcoming & highly professional. The wines are high quality at reasonable prices, & it’s good there is a change of menu every month.
Disappointing. Food average. Slow service. Tables for 2 were squashed in corners. I think this restaurant has too many covers & not enough staff...... definitely lacking........
Good food as always - The Fish Parmentier and Pork Belly were very nice. Slower service than normal upstairs but more peaceful setting for Mother’s Day.
Always a good experience. The menu is interesting, and the food is well presented. The staff are friendly, and there is a lovely ambience. Prices are reasonable.
This was our first time there, we went as a couple and were very pleased with the whole experience. The team were very helpful and professional, Can’t think of a negative would highly recommend.
Great food and good service, great deal before going to a concert at the Dome 😊 thank you the waiter was very attentive and the food was good quality, would definitely recommend this restaurant
