Côte York

Good to be back at Cote. It felt just like old times, food as good as always. It was very easy to book and comforting to know customers were recording their contact details. I was pleased to see sanitiser just inside the entrance, all staff wearing visors and tables and seats being sanitised between customers.

Having eaten here before and again impressed with food and service tasty food and great service.

It was great to be back after so many months of missing the Cote menu, welcome and ambience. All you need to do is turn off the background music or, at least, make it mildly 'French brasserie.'

Great food and service and usual but a bit disappointed that brunch is only being served on the weekend.

Lovely staff, very helpful and the food was excellent.A most enjoyable experience.The rhubarb martinis were very moreish and we enjoyed a very reasonably priced bottle of Sauvignon blanc. Definitely will be back !!!!!

I just want to say a massive thank you to the Cote York staff. Everyone was just so lovely and made us feel so comfortable. I decided to celebrate my birthday for a second time with my friend as on my actually birthday was a massive disappointment at the place where we booked. I even got a complimentary cake with the candle this evening. The food was so pleasant and tasty . Massive thank you and we will be back soon. 🤗🤗🤗

First visit back after the shutdown. Called for late Sunday Lunch. Nicely set out tables and no problems with the rules & regs. Rather surprised only A La carte menu available.?. I thought it would be more attractive to have the 2 set menu's available.?. Excellent food and very tasty, well presented. Pork Belly dish & a Prawns for my partner. Crepes as dessert. Excellent bottle of Red. All in, a very good meal and as usual excellent staff. Glad to get back. Peter

Treat for the boys (and ourselves) before back to school on Tuesday. Always love popping in for Brunch, staff are always professional, friendly and courteous. Boys love having the full English while my wife and i always seem to have the French breakfast and eggs benedict, tea, coffee and orange juice... worth it every visit.

We've never eaten at a Cote Brasserie before and our first experience was fantastic. Our waiter was superb - attentive without being overbearing, friendly and professional. He made the evening feel special the way he looked after us. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great, perfect lighting and overall ambiance. Our meal and drinks were all lovely especially the Kir Royale apertifs! My favourite! Three of us had the Salad Nicoise and the tuna steak was delicious. My husband had the pork with a beautiful calavos jus, cabbage and gratin potatoes. My daughter really enjoyed the reblochon burger - so tasty. Our desserts were gorgeous and the apple tart tatin was so delicate, like a work of art. I really appreciated the fact the roquefort on my cheese board was at absolutely the perfect room temperature. My husband wanted a liqueur coffee and the waiter could not have been more accommodating and we ended up having a funny joke with him about it. All in all a great evening which made our weekend away in York extra special. Thank you.

So lovely to enjoy your hospitality again, it’s been too long. Couldn’t think of a better place for a celebratory anniversary brunch, lovely food, atmosphere, and Cote service Now can’t wait to visit our local Cote in Newcastle opening soon. Thank you 🥂

We had a really pleasant and pleasurable experience, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the whole time spent at Côte was as a restaurant show be, relaxing, good food and great service. Also really good to see how normal it feels with cutlery and condiments on the table with proper napkins, just lose the visors and I'll be an extremely happy customer.

We had initially went to your Windsor restaurant and the York restaurant was just as beautiful. Absolutely mine and my husbands favourite restaurant. We are from Manchester and cannot wait until that one opens again! The service is impeccable, the food is the best I have ever tasted and I think moreover the experience of an evening in Cote is what makes everything so special. Thank you from the Drumms!

I would have ordered the lobster but I asked the waiter if he would give me a lesson on how to eat it. But he did not under stand me. The food was very nice.

Excellent food with ample portions! Our main courses, the tuna steak and the roast pork belly, were especially delicious. The serving staff were attentive and friendly. An excellent dining experience.

covid arrangements were excellent-we felt very safe. Great to see all the staff back - they were wonderful as always. Atmosphere, food and service could not be faulted, despite being vary busy (last night of "Eat Out to Help Out") Have already booked again!.

Divine! Another delicious meal at Côte, York. Friendly, attentive service and delicious food. I always go all out at Côte as the menu is so irresistible!! So glad to have had my first post-lockdown meal there.

Food good as usual, didn't get side salad with my steak, even though I asked twice, ordered sweet and coffee, got the coffee but had to ask a number of times to get the sweets, think there was a kitchen problem.

it was great to see Cote open again, as one of our favourite places to eat out. We have never been disappointed dining there and this visit didn't change that. Great food and great service, last of 'eat out to help out' but that wasn't our reason for the visit. Hoping things can continue without further disruption.

Hi, As usual great service, great food and Great Staff I always request the front room in the York Restaurant but on this occasion the table we were shown to was to the rear, not got a problem with that but we asked about a table in the front and the staff made the effort to reset one of the tables and moved us Thanks once again for a great evening we will be back soon

We visited Cote yesterday for the 2dt time since lockdown. I don't know why it took so long to reopen as inside the restaurant it's no different at all apart from hand sanitiser dotted around. The starters were lovely. My partner ordered fillet steak well done & I ordered the pork belly (both of these we always have because we love them). I also wanted the glazed carrots as a side which we also always have & are delicious. No glazed carrots on the menu??? We asked the waiter & we got told they have aimited menu due to covid?????? It was glazed carrots...... How difficult is it to get carrots? On arrival of the mains Iooked at the steak which seemed much smaller than previous & my pork belly also looked quite small. This didn't put us off tho as with the starter it was going to be enough. My partners steak wasn't well done it was medium & my pork belly was quite tough. The restaurant was so busy so couldn't be bothered complaining. We are the food & it was OK. We asked to look at the dessert menu. My partner always has the creme brulle (his favourite in a French restaurant) only to find & get told because of the limited menu again there not doing it. This is a French restaurant & I find it very hard to believe that they can't provide carrots as a side or creme brulle on the menu???? We probably won't be returning for a while. Disappointing Cote Brasserie.

I ordered Crab mayonnaise for starter (strong tinned fish taste.. I'd say tuna??); Rissoto Vert for main (unfortunately the rice was undercooked and watery); the Tarte fine aux pommes was good! My partner had the calamari (nicely cooked and presented); Tuna Niçoise (I wouldn't have really called "fresh tuna", had a very funny smell and taste .. the whole steak was left on the plate and we only eat the salad (then a very expensive salad!); Frozen berries with white chocolate sauce were good

It was lovely to be back at Cote Brasserie in York. It has been our favourite place to go for our 'date night' for quite a few years now and we've missed it during the pandemic. It was good to see the regular staff and lovely that they recognised us too. With it being our first trip to town and a restaurant we felt very welcome and safe and happy with all of the measures put in place in line with government guidelines. We will definitely be returning especially as the food and service was up to its usual very high standard. Well done everyone 👏☺️

We felt very comfortable with the precautions put into place to maintain social distancing etc. The service was excellent and the food just as delicious as always. We were so happy that Côte has reopened and we were able to return to one of our favourite places to eat.
